I have a question!! Why do I feel like when I’m sitting down and enjoying music peacefully suddenly so much moves comes to mind and I feel like I can freestyle immediately, but when I stand up and start to dance, all the moves is just gone in my head. That’s also why I also get stuck often when I’m choreographing because there are no moves when I want to think of one.
This is so me ;-; In my head when I listen to a song I imagine all the moves that I can do with the song, I imagine myself being awesome in freestyle and then... nothing xD
omg !! I heavily relate 😭 it's like when I try to freestyle, nothing comes to mind cuz it feels forced. But when I'm just sitting down listening to the song, so many ideas come to play. I'm making a choreo rn for an audition and the only way I can think of moves, is by sitting down lol
I was kicked out of a cosplay dance group for not being able to memorize 11 routines in less than 3 days. I made the mistake of thinking like a performer (meaning I expected to practice extensively to learn so many precision routines and also expected to “lock in” the choreography at practices not in my living room) I felt hurt and rejected. 1:28 was a great reminder for me that professional dancers work together and don’t expect the newest member to be instantly perfect. Realistic expectations (of yourself and your crew) really do matter. And so do practices with your group.
I definitely need to consume more dance vids, I've been too involved in other technique classes and i haven't really been inputting any videos in the technique or styles that I like recently. this is great advice, thank you!
Thanks for the advice! I wonder how all these dancers got so good and it's because they've embraced there weirdness. I could do that I'm just really shy/embarrassed of what others would think of me. I overthink things so I'll try it once I get STEEZY
Even I'm just like you. We can be friends. And practice and become good dancers. You can do it. Cuz I'm insecure too. I cry when they tell me to freestyle. So I just stood there.🤦♀️. But I feel you.
Nice video as always ! That’s a very good advice . ✌🏾 What I would reaaallyy like to see maybe in one of the next videos is how to breathe correctly while dancing . Everyone is talking about that but nobody is telling you how u should breathe . I would be really happy if u could give some advice :)
I also have problem with breathing. I don't know why it is that it feels very comfortable dancing without breathing and it is so easy to forget about this fundamental function that keeps us alive while dancing. I woul really love to see a video with advices like that! :)
One of my favorite moves, that makes my friends coo and laugh, is using some movements I learned figure skating in a combo pony step, body roll, double pony step. It’s stupid fun, and looks gooey! Another 3 am invention!
Ty for all of your dance tips! I’ve been trying to explore other dances cause I do kpop dances rn but other dance style are so difficult! Maybe I just need to find better tutorials?
I noticed that they used some of Logan Edra's footage in this video..would be dope if she did one of the challenges. She's a beast. And yall are amazing as always!!
Would it be possibly to learn how to dance and pickup different foundations at 23? I love dancing and but I'm nowhere near good and picked it up only recently.
Random fact: Look up Kolanie Marks he's the creator of Kreativ Mndz and co-owner the studio in West Hollywood he started breakdancing when he was 23. Never had an agency or nothing he just did it on his own!! Look him up on TH-cam, it's never too late to learn.
We have a couple playlists with lots of videos on how to pickup and improve your foundations no matter how new you are to dance! One is even linked at the end of this video (:
@jamie I've been dancing since 18 and am now almost 23. I am only just now starting to see some improvements because I could only learn from videos like steezy's with no one to practice with or critique me so I had to watch numerous vids. I mean NUMEROUS , and implement what they taught me. I didn't practice when I first picked up dancing as effectively or often as I do now. So you can start dance as long your body can move to beat. Just practice practice practice. If you feel like you aren't seeing results practice again. You will improve gradually until one day you notice how much you improve because you will feel your body moving in ways you couldn't move before with waves, dimestops, strobing, tutoring etc. and the best tip I can give you. Is look in a mirror when practing, then step away from mirror and allow yourself to move HOWEVER the music is telling you to move. The step In the mirror and dance some more. And keep doing this. This way you can move in a way that feels natural without looking and judging yourself and when you step In the mirror work on putting basic principles and concepts into the way you naturally move and with this you will start to feel yourself improve your basics and concepts and will begin to build on your originality and style as well. It won't be to pretty at first so don't let that deter you. You WiLL improve. It's literally like building muscle. It's just as healthy if not healthier and will show your results over time. you body will eventually notice the patterns and then step in, hey ok I felt you do this move before let's make it easier for you from on. 😂 that was cheesy but research dance just as much as you dance specific basic movements you have trouble performing search how to: popping dance, arm wave, fingertut, footwork, krump, shuffle, wack, worm. Whatever you have trouble doing there is a video of how to do. Sometimes you gotta do some diggin but it's there
I'm returning to dance at age 34, and while it feels like starting over, I'm so glad I started. Look up the video on Jojo Diggs, who made Jabbawockeez at age 39. If you have the desire to dance, don't let age hold you back. Just start. Dig in. Build consistency. You'll be glad you did.
Dear Steezy I have been dancing since I was 6 and every told me to do ballet because of my size (I'm very skinny and 5'2) but i feel as ballet just isn't my style but i what to start dances like Hip-Hop or Urban Dance but when i do those dances i just end up looking stupid. What should I do. (Im 16 btw)
I've watched a lot of youtubers talking about the fact that you can start dance at any age but my question is if someone can be a professional dancer starting from the age of 16
Hi I am 25 years old, I have extreme social anxiety. I have recently started dancing, and it's hard to move my body in front of mirror. My dance teacher told me to move my hand or arms during the class, and I just got freeze I can't just do it. It feels like I am broken robot. I have been athletic that I dont think any physical reason unable me using my arm. I just in fear and disgust to see my self moving body to express something through dancing. Wish for some advice?
STEEZY! when i dance or control a specific part of my body, i seem to have muscle spasms or my muscles seems to be shaking like wtf. It makes my body stiff to the point i want to give up.
Thank you for sharing! I have an idea for you to follow... It may not work but this is what I thought of. I believe you should stretch all of your muscles and I mean ALL!!! I think that will help a lot with the stiffness in your body. Have a great day! God bless you abundantly according to His will!
Hi steezy. I’ll like having your dance tutorials, but I don’t have money for them,so please can you post them on your TH-cam channel so I can download them pleasssssssse

Why not start your dance at your couch. It'll be experimental and fun then slowly work your way on standing up. ✨
Nothing to dislike here. Thanks Steezy. Please everyone, like the video.

I use this method a lot except I don’t know what website to use to lay my foundation. My input is often just random choreography that I just learned.
I practice in my garage because I'm very shy how can I get better at displaying my dances without feeling awkward?
I feel like dancing in front of a mirror while looking at yourself while you dance will help.
@@cronalastbraincell_ thank you! I'll try that and hopefully it works
how old are you? if you're in school you could get in a dance class at school. or maybe go to a concert and dance as part of the audience like many do
