It running better with bigger headers because it’s getting all of the combustion/exhaust meaning its actually flowing the right amount of air to fuel ratio thats why its running better

@@SiskBuilt yeah i have a similar thing rn with my truck but the reverse its not getting enough exhaust flow because it used to have procharger and longtubes ive now gone to no procharger with shorty the tune was completely off but when it was running with the longtubes you coulf make full passes on it with no tune because the motor got the right amount of exhaust flow to make up for the fuel ratio

@@SiskBuilt well the state i live in has shit roads for one and two its was completely straight piped with longtubes and it was just so damn loud you couldn’t hear anything its my daily plus my goal is to make a daily drivable inspection passing race truck so i went with patriot headers they are designed like longtubes but are the size of shortys to a full three inch true dual three inch x pipe highflow cats so it doesn’t reek of gas all time and spintech mufflers its just loud and honestly feels like it has more power in the lower rpm which is where i drive it mostly but it has a btr stage 4 cam so it’s interesting setup im thinking about making channel on the truck not sure yet though

Nope! I’d probably redo the rear suspension and or the front to have better travel to the rear

Mine is a 370 cubic inch. Made 385 at 4500 rpm. So at 7000 it made a smidge more. 3.90 gears with the 4l80

Nope! Also the tires ran out QUICK so it spins bad now
These performance modded truck are fun yet the tires run out so quick I have to buy used.
I'll go through a new set every 10 months if I was to buy new.

I have no idea! I swapped the 80e and gears the same time! I will say 3.42 and 60e vs 3.90 80e is about the same quickness

Was dynoed about 3 years ago. Made 386 but transmission was slipping so peak HP was at 4000/4500
I have the same truck but with a pearl white custom paint. Putting lsd and 3.90 gears in it this week and pulling the 3.42's. What's your rpm on the highway at say 75 mph? I was thinking 4.10's but with the 3200 stall and 470 to the wheels I felt I didn't need all the gearing. That thing is perfection now bro!
With 80e, 28’s, 3.90 gears, I’m at 2100 at 65 mph. I dont know off the top of my head what 75 is but it’s probably 2700?
