As someone who was born and raised in the Seattle area… it was beyond cool to see people experience their first piroshky and beechers mac n cheese. Seattle classics for a reason!!
I lived near Seattle for 3 years, and I still crave Beecher’s mac&cheese and the Daily Dozen donuts. Ugh, and the oysters! Seriously my favorite city and I miss it.

The "lemon" and brightness from the filipino food at oriental mart is actually a kalamansi which is between a lime and lemon in flavor. They're tiny, like the size of a silver dollar. Also, the sausage was langunisa which is a breakfast sausage you'd have with garlic rice & a runny egg in a breakfast bowl. Would love to see Keith do a trying filipino food video sometime! Tinola, karekare, bibinka, halohalo, etc

some general advice for travelers and locals alike about Pike Place 1. Seattle parking is free on Sundays and Holidays. 2.Piroshky Piroshky has multiple locations throughout Seattle and the greater Seattle Area. 3. Pike Place Chowder on the otherhand has only 1 more shop in the Seattle area. it's within walking distance (or at least for me). 4. Pike street (hence the name Pike Place) also has the Seattle convention center and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery 5. (really for tourists) but Beecher's cheese is available in most grocers in the Seattle area (Costco, Safeway, Target). I recall the price being better but they only sell the more generic and basic cheeses. you have to go to the actual cheese shop to get the more unique products they offer. 6.Pike Place Nuts rotates their menu on an inventory basis, meaning that if something ran out, it will be replaced with a new product. If you found a flavor you like, you're honestly better off ordering online as the product may not be available at the store (They also apparently have other shops in the greater Seattle area) 7. if you go down the road in gumwall, there's a restaurant called the Skillet. It's a bit pricey but food is really good. 8. RGB, or Ruth's Ginger Beer has 2 other locations, 1 near the Amazon Spheres, the other in University Village
@@TiffyCassie Pike St is different than Pike Place….as I said, Pike Place is the street that runs between the two sides, the main Market towards the water and the other side where other businesses reside….runs between Pike St and Virginia St…..check out a map…..
I feel like half the point of the other Eat The Menu videos is watching him endure the mediocre food marathon. This was more like a nonstop tasting menu. Different vibes, but I definitely enjoyed the second half of this video more than I do the fast-food ones.
I love how the titles in this series make Keith sound like an Eldritch Diety that descends upon unsuspecting locations and devours them in their entirety.
I absolutely loved the change in format from traditional ETM here. What a great video - all of the employees were amazing, highlighting local businesses, introducing foods I’ve never even heard of before and having so many friends joining Keith was very fun! Might be my favorite ETM ever.
i love how everyone just wants to feed keith. i think that that's one of the most beautiful thing about sharing food--- how no one is able to pick just one thing from their menu that's the "best". i love this so much
It feels like this video could be called ‘the Downfall of Chris’. That guy appeared as a possible vegan, ate cheese, ate seafood, ate chicken & beef, drank vodka for the first time.
I work at a hotel a few blocks from Pike Place Market, and guests regularly ask if the market is a must-see or just a tourist trap and I always tell them that it's a must-see. If you had a whole week you could spend it there and still miss stuff.
As someone born and raised in Seattle, at 37 years old I've been to Pike Place more times than I can count. This whole video I kept wishing " Please lord let him find the Hum Bao shop. He under sold them cause of his curry disappointment. They are amazing.
@@fzzypurpleturtleit’s also so easily justifiable when all of the meat is fresh and locally sourced- it’s definitely the way to go if you’re giving up your vegan card for a day
I love seeing people discover sinigang for the first time. If you're not into seafood, you can get pork, chicken, or vegetable. Filipino food is so versatile.
Really makes you think about the influence of the member no longer with us. It seems like he really thought the ‘do what sucks and it will be good for you’ was his way of life.
As a born and raised Seattleite, this video was the best! I was definitely dying with the Pike's Place for the whole video so I'm glad he got corrected, even if it didn't stick. One thing I wish they could have tried: Simply The Best dried fruits and veggies! The beets there are a classic- my family puts them in our Christmas stockings every year!
As someone who has worked a few blocks away from Pike Place for the last 10 years, this video gave me such a "you idiot" feeling for all the food I've never ventured to walk over and try. Now I'm excited to fix that! Of course Keith's the one to make me appreciate a place I already live.
I like that Chris embodied the Try Guys spirit. "Have you had your morning coffee yet?" "No." "Do you drink coffee?" "Nope but let's try!" I'd watch more of him. Good luck on the roadtrip!
Hands down, favorite episode. The sense of community and the pride the employees have when they pick what they want Keith to try made this such a comforting watch.
This is my new favorite comfort video 😂😂 The rainy vibes, all the delicious food, the fact that this is now on my bucket list… it’s just so *chefs kiss* beautiful! ❤️❤️
Honestly I’m just buzzing for Kieth catching the fish first try. The staff were so delighted with his joy. It’s a pity the Without a Recipe judges don’t get to see this buoyant, joyful side to him 😂
my one comment in this video is you can def see the owners appreciate how eloquent and appreciative Keith is of their product. Def something i wanna do if i possibly visit in the future
Watching Keith have the same revelation of every out-of-towner at their first Beecher's was a delight. It's totally worth the line (which I guess he skipped this early in the morning)! I've also had that same salmon sandwich, and it was gorgeous.
I think this might be one of my favorite eat the menus... seeing keith try such a huge variety of food and him and everyone else having so much fun was a treat!
I'm from Seattle, born and raised. I still say "Pike's" sometimes. I'm so sorry, I know I'm a disgrace to my fellow Seattleites, low-key blaming my dad because he's from Minnesota, and I developed a lot of his speech patterns.
I just absolutely love how infectious Keith's good vibes are and appreciate the shop staff matching his energy. Also love how this video is basically advertising those small businesses!
One pocket for snacks, the other for endless amounts of money. Yes, sign me up! I can't imagine how much this video cost. Every time I thought it was wrapping up they would buy 5 more things
FUN FACT my stepmom used to work at the store called Bavarian meats that 3:24 was two or three stores down from the “original” Starbucks and the reason why I put quotations around the word “original” is because actually the very first Starbucks burned down somehow and so the one that you guys went to was actually the second one. Thank you to my step mom for giving me that cool little tidbit about Starbucks there
I love this more gorilla style way of filming. Just walking along and eating food and having genuine interactions. Don't get me wrong I love all the other way the menus just fine but this is like a sub genre. And I'm into it! Would you ever consider walking down bourbon street in New Orleans, or Broadway in Nashville?
I’m glad Keith had a better experience with the fish throwing than I did, I was standing behind the guy who catches it on the other side of the counter and it ended up slipping out of his hands and hit me in the face 😂 I ended up getting a free t-shirt from it though!
I love that they’re being supporting in their vegan friend trying new stuff, rather than making fun of them for breaking their restriction. It’s so kind❤
Ngl, I was really soft for Keith trying the Filipino food! As a FilAm, those are foods I grew up on and make me feel the most nostalgic. When my mom makes sinigang for me, I just feel so warm and special. Keith, you have a natural presence that made all of your interactions seem so heartfelt. Even the things you tasted and didn't care for, you ate them with an open mind and were so aware of the experience of tasting something new. I loved this style of "Eat the Menu." Eat the Venue, if you will!
Aw man, I assume y'all are no longer in Seattle by this point, but I was just thinking only yesterday, "Man if Keith ever comes to Seattle, it would be cool if he would try to eat everything at Veggie Grill." They're a really good everything-vegan chain with a surprisingly huge menu for a vegan place. I'm always torn with indecision on what to have when I go there, so it'd be cool to see you tackle it at some point. :) Edit: Took the time to look it up, and it looks like they do have them in LA! :) A future episode option, perhaps?
@@bewwybabe8045 I've never tried Sweetgreen, so I can't really comment on them, but what I love about Veggie Grill is that so many veggie places are just like, "here's a salad," whereas Veggie Grill actually makes an effort to have a wide variety of different kinds of food, some fake meat and some not, and really gives you a ton of options to pick from.
hearing keith say “croissants are so hard to make idk why anyone would do that” made me laugh after hearing rachel on you can sit with us say the guys will be doing just that for without a recipe
As a Proud Filipino from Washington it is absolutely 100 percent the Filipina Auntie experience that you ordered one thing and ended up eating half the menu. Glad to see you all enjoy sinigang
Waited the entire video to see if you were going to get to the seared scallop chowder... and you didn't disappoint! I'm from New England, but Pike Place Chowder is the best I've ever had. Been in Seattle for 20+ years. Best thing at the market, IMO.
I visited Seattle in 2015, and went to Pike Place and loved it (did NOT allow for enough time there). And as I was trying to find old photos of which bits I went to/what foods I had, the flower stall popped up looking the same way with the same pole as was showing in my photo 😄 This video wants me to go back and try all the foods haha.
Omg I'm from Seattle and the amt of excitement I felt when I saw this notif cannot be overstated. I'm so excited that I'm not even gonna let myself be frustrated every time Keith says "Pike's Place" 😂
What a great video! Love that all the buddies joined you. Trombone buddy Chris is delightful. Saying dilll is "like a little plant" cracked me up. Really cool that you loved everything this time 'round.
I was really expecting, or hoping, to get to the end of the video and see Keith with his pockets just stuffed full of a dozen different bites of food, and maybe that he'd pull them out one by one and show us what he collected 😂
You know, I wonder if Keith's comfort (and, due to that, likely his attitude) during this video was assisted by the format being mobile, with more time between each food, which allowed him to better digest than when he is sitting the whole time in one place eating food after food in quick succession. I, for one, could definitely appreciate more walking around and appreciating the atmosphere Eat the Menus mixed in with the more traditional chain-restaurant sitting-down-and-binging Eat the Menus, for both variety and Keith's physical and mental well-being. 😄
Thank you so much for this beautiful, creative, fun and very special video of Seattle (Pike Place Market). This is my hometown, I was born and raised in Seattle (Capital Hill) and you are correct, Pike Place is not a tourist trap, it's the heart of Seattle. ( Now, when the cruise ships bring in over 5000 people, THEN and only then Pike Place turns into a tourist trap, worst time to go to Pike Place) All the places in the market are the places I visit too. Some places that I thought I would see is Matt's In The Market (great salads), The Albi Room (might be closed-Tom Skerritt use to go there a lot), Kell's Irish Pub (Post Alley) and the Virginia Inn. Some local favorite dishes to go for next time are Teriyaki (beef, chicken, salmon or veggie), salmon candy (not a dish but an awesome snack), Molly Moon ice cream and a "Seattle Dog" (a Polish sausage (hot dog) in a sourdough bun with cream cheese and deli mustard, topped with grilled shredded cabbage and Walla Walla onions) SOOOOOO GOOD !! I used to have this after any music show I went to at the Showbox or the Pink Door This video took me down "memory lane", I miss my hometown very much. Thank you for your video, I love it (Remember, Next time Teriyaki !! 😊)
Seeing you guys try (haha 😁) all of my childhood haunts and still current faves was just MAGICAL 😭💓 Thank you so much! Found this after a hard week and am so grateful 🌲🌄 Screamed aloud when you went to DeLaurenti and Rachel’s Ginger Beer, love that you guys loved, disliked, adored, and pondered openly-the whole magic of that place is that there is something there for everyone! Much love from all of Seattle always, thank you for coming and come back soon! Also take your sweethearts and friends to Pike Places Burlesque bar 😘
I’m from Seattle, and I love seeing people try these foods that are so locally beloved! Pike Place is absolutely the best place to spend a day in Seattle. Piroshky Piroshky was one of my favorite places, and the donuts are an absolute must! I’m so glad you tried the chocolate pasta!
one thing I appreciate about this trip is that Keith was involved with everyone, he had moments alone and all together, he truly is an awesome person to be around
I hope someone in the team reads this and passes it on. This video saved my life tonight. I have been feeling the pressure of work, kids, my relationship and my crashing mental health. I was searching for anything to keep me going for another minute. I tapped onto TH-cam and up popped this video. I laughed then I cried because I laughed and it was just enough to give myself a breather to have this reflection. Thank you for what you do.
I’m so glad you’re still here! I just had a terrible episode of emotion and nearly did something I could never take back. This video made me feel less alone... I hope you feel better in the coming days. Rooting for you, friend
This is my fav Eat the Menu and in the top of Try videos over all. Love just bopping around and trying such a great variety, the crew he's with is great, not the usual over the top showmanship/ monologues from the guests for the camera and makes me want to go to Pikes Place so bad! Hope they do more Eat the Menus like this, I know they just did a few amusement park ones but more farmers markets , neighbourhoods or similar would be amazing
i love the vibes of Keith on a little field trip with his work mom.

3. Pike Place Chowder on the otherhand has only 1 more shop in the Seattle area. it's within walking distance (or at least for me).
4. Pike street (hence the name Pike Place) also has the Seattle convention center and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery
If you found a flavor you like, you're honestly better off ordering online as the product may not be available at the store (They also apparently have other shops in the greater Seattle area)
7. if you go down the road in gumwall, there's a restaurant called the Skillet. It's a bit pricey but food is really good.

The premade mac and cheese from Costco was pretty meh for me
It's nice to see Keith actually enjoy the food on this show. Keith always seems so disappointed by the end of a fast food/chain restaurant.
It probably helps that so much of this is fresh, good food and even the sweet stuff is more homemade style and not just mass produced grease.
@@rogue3035 Can confirm. I ADORE Pike Place, it's food heaven.
Fast food is usually somewhat disappointing.

It feels like this video could be called ‘the Downfall of Chris’. That guy appeared as a possible vegan, ate cheese, ate seafood, ate chicken & beef, drank vodka for the first time.

It's weird seeing Keith in wintery clothes, I feel like he's more of a tropical bird 😅
Lol so true 😅
This was definitely shot a while back because it’s definitely summer over there 😅
He looks so cozy and more himself in winter clothes to me :D
More of a bird in a man suit, if you will
OMG YES I was thinking how weird it was that he was in cold weather clothes 😂😂
I work at a hotel a few blocks from Pike Place Market, and guests regularly ask if the market is a must-see or just a tourist trap and I always tell them that it's a must-see. If you had a whole week you could spend it there and still miss stuff.
The barista at Ghost Alley Espresso was amazing. I love the conversation she had with Keith, what amazing customer service! She seems so fun!
When a stall isn't busy, there are many around Pike Place that have the same kind of vibe.
the worker high-fiving keith with the fish was surprisingly wholesome 😭

Amen to that! I grew with filipino food so watching Keith eat it for the first time made me so happy! 😊
I love this era of the Try Guys. They are really going for things they ENJOY trying

As someone who works in pike place this was so weird to see one of your favorite TH-camrs in a place you’re at everyday. I’m glad you liked it!
"Have you had your morning coffee yet?" "No." "Do you drink coffee?" "Nope but let's try!"
I'd watch more of him. Good luck on the roadtrip!
Hands down, favorite episode. The sense of community and the pride the employees have when they pick what they want Keith to try made this such a comforting watch.
As a Seattle-ite this brings me so much joy. Also love how much all the shops’ staff was so kind and fun!

I love the idea of Keith carrying around all of his leftovers in his pockets 😂
Honestly I'm big into watching Keith, Rachel, and Johnathan just vibing their way through Seattle 😂😂 This is such a fun format
Rachel is just cherry on top of everything she's in. I love everyone's dynamic around her. I love this human so much! 🥰
Honestly I’m just buzzing for Kieth catching the fish first try. The staff were so delighted with his joy. It’s a pity the Without a Recipe judges don’t get to see this buoyant, joyful side to him 😂
I do like his insanely indignant character though. 🤣
my one comment in this video is you can def see the owners appreciate how eloquent and appreciative Keith is of their product.

I’m from Vancouver and I just wanted to shout at the screen
I was about to comment about it when I heard that part ☠️
I'm from Seattle, born and raised. I still say "Pike's" sometimes. I'm so sorry, I know I'm a disgrace to my fellow Seattleites, low-key blaming my dad because he's from Minnesota, and I developed a lot of his speech patterns.
I’ve only visited Seattle, once over 25 years ago. It was even bothering me! 😂
"Are you vegan?"
"We'll find out."
Big mood.
I just absolutely love how infectious Keith's good vibes are and appreciate the shop staff matching his energy. Also love how this video is basically advertising those small businesses!
I want to live in a world where we all have never ending pockets like Kieth to put all of our snacks in, that would be heaven
I'm pretty sure that's the coat that he got from the sponsored Strip Trivia video in 2021
One pocket for snacks, the other for endless amounts of money. Yes, sign me up! I can't imagine how much this video cost. Every time I thought it was wrapping up they would buy 5 more things

Thank you to my step mom for giving me that cool little tidbit about Starbucks there
Chris and Keith's reaction to the cheese was like a tale of two cities, Chris was disgusted and Keith was fascinated

Love how kieth went from "breaking the 1 thing rule" once to eating multiple things at multiple places😂
Love how this combines the vibes of keith with sort of diners, drive-ins, and dives and Anthony Bourdain's travel food show, in the best way possible.
I’m glad Keith had a better experience with the fish throwing than I did, I was standing behind the guy who catches it on the other side of the counter and it ended up slipping out of his hands and hit me in the face 😂 I ended up getting a free t-shirt from it though!
Please tell me the shirt said "I got smacked by a fish at Pike Place Market" lol

Eat the Venue is a FANTASTIC name :D
Same! The second I saw that bowl I went "sinigang!!" Funny enough too because I was eating some while watching this video 😂
The number of times that Keith has said “I’ll just put it in my pocket” has me absolutely baffled and amazed-like how-
Aw man, I assume y'all are no longer in Seattle by this point, but I was just thinking only yesterday, "Man if Keith ever comes to Seattle, it would be cool if he would try to eat everything at Veggie Grill." They're a really good everything-vegan chain with a surprisingly huge menu for a vegan place. I'm always torn with indecision on what to have when I go there, so it'd be cool to see you tackle it at some point. :)
Edit: Took the time to look it up, and it looks like they do have them in LA! :) A future episode option, perhaps?
Oh, Veggie Grill is great, that's a great suggestion!
Oh yeah I can name a few here in south county LA! We loveee our veggie chains here (sweetgreen is a more expensive option)
They Should of tried Sisters and Brothers!! That chicken is something else!!
hearing keith say “croissants are so hard to make idk why anyone would do that” made me laugh after hearing rachel on you can sit with us say the guys will be doing just that for without a recipe

I had that soup back in December and I’m STILL thinking about it. They deliver all over the US & I’m thinking of placing an order. Yum 😋
It is so weird to see a TH-camr I regularly watch go to places I’ve been going all my life

I visited Seattle in 2015, and went to Pike Place and loved it (did NOT allow for enough time there). And as I was trying to find old photos of which bits I went to/what foods I had, the flower stall popped up looking the same way with the same pole as was showing in my photo 😄
This video wants me to go back and try all the foods haha.

Keith needs to market these coats with their giant never ending pockets, he'd make a fortune.
i bought a coat and it has two giant pockets where the hands are, and the pockets are actually where my hands are!!! i'm 4'11 so that's wild to me
I was really expecting, or hoping, to get to the end of the video and see Keith with his pockets just stuffed full of a dozen different bites of food, and maybe that he'd pull them out one by one and show us what he collected 😂
( Now, when the cruise ships bring in over 5000 people, THEN and only then Pike Place turns into a tourist trap, worst time to go to Pike Place)
All the places in the market are the places I visit too.
I used to have this after any music show I went to at the Showbox or the Pink Door
This video took me down "memory lane", I miss my hometown very much.
Thank you for your video, I love it
(Remember, Next time Teriyaki !! 😊)
