Highly acclaimed Norwegian violin virtuoso Mari Samuelsen debuts on Deutsche Grammophon as first female violinist on DG’s New Repertoire roster. Mari Samuelsen has enjoyed a remarkable rise on the international concert stage through a characteristic mixture of artistry and enterprise. Her concerts combine breathtaking musical virtuosity and an imaginative and innovative approach to presentation. She conquers new repertoire and does not tread into old paths. A unique artist, technically and musically highly skilled, with a fresh approach to new repertoire and artistic collaborations.
Her upcoming and ongoing collaborations with leading composers of today, as well as electronic music artists such as Jeff Mills and Dubfire, put MARI Samuelsen in a position as an artist who is thinking innovatively and is actively reaching out to new audiences.
Her debut album was recorded with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and conductor Jonathan Stockhammer and will be released in early summer 2019.

Oh, if only the majority of humanity could embrace and enjoy the arts like this. Sadly, I believe it will never be. We are inching closer to our swan song.
This song has been a favourite of mine since I first heard it on Brian Eno's "Before and After Science" in the 1970's. I love this haunting rendition.
Melancholic as a view of the autumn rain drops on the glass ... But as somebody said once: Every sensitive human carries the autumn in heart.
We all love life, don't we?
Autumn is kind of a message, that life has to end someday. And that we don't want it to end.
When I listen to her playing I'm crying... so powerful, so beautiful, so sensitive. Thanks to Mari I have bought my first violin. And I really happy knowing that somewhere Mari is and I live with her at the same time. Thank you a lot!

What I like about Mari Samuelsen, beyond her mastery as a player, is how she immerses herself in the music she plays and also spills her passion to us, soaking us with her talent.

I close my eyes listening to this melody and my thoughts fly light as a feather and rest on a child who shakes hands with his father. Nothing gives him more security, nothing makes him feel more protected than that handshake. My father's hand, now far away from me, far away who knows where. Sometimes I would really need that handshake, I still need to feel protected! (sorry for my bad English!!) Ad maiora!

well, Deutsche Grammophon does a pretty good job of this IN THE TITLE!!! Your sentiment is wonderful, but a bit misplaced. While trying hard to honor them, it sorta turns the song into a gravestone instead, which I don't think any of the composers/artists would have wanted.
