Omg, these video are all a waste of time. Alright, we get it, you are video recording a place where regular people may think is suspicious in nature. They call the police. The police job is to investigate. You tell them you have every right to record on public grounds. You edit the video to make the police look like they are wasting time and tax payers money. But its you that are wasting police resources and their time. I bet you are the type of person that says that the police service are a waste of tax payer money.
Recording interactions with police is a good thing. Improves liability standards.
People will call out bad behavior. At the moment, police are scarcely held to account and so there is an immense frustration building that is exacerbated when someone conducting themselves lawfully incurs penalties at the hands of people who cannot be held accountable.
When there is more accountability for police, these videos will be used to highlight good interaction while condemning bad ones, but there will be more prevalence of the police being the one in the right.
These videos aren’t a waste of time. They’re just documenting current attitudes between police and civilians.
Sure, it's the public right to video record and to have an opinion on how the police are performing their duties. I see your point.
The officer has to respond to a complaint (I assume) from the property owner about some one video taping for some odd reason.
I can assume this officer probably has heard of or experienced a person that video records police situations where the video is about the right to record on public property.
If I was that officer, I would be rolling my eyes and wondering "what the f* are we doing here.? There must be something that is more useful of my time instead of dealing with this type of situation". This officer did everything right Imo. She introduced herself, investigate the situation, resolved by saying he video record as long as he doesn't impede traffic. Good on her!!!
But really, how much time was wasted on this situation? This officer could have been doing something else with the tax payers money. But she has to spend 30-45 minutes or more to deal with this? Maybe she could have been called to investigate a domestic abuse compliant, or a serious traffic accident, who knows?
And show some common coutesy. It appears like the video recorder was trying to antagonize he by saying repeatedly "you're dismissed“

I say she did a good job. So give her props for her work. Give her credit.
But I can't change my opinion that this is a waste of tax payer money.

Should complaints be investigated?
The only person wasting time is the one who complained over nothing. Cop was letting her ego dictate the situation.
“You’re dismissed” is rude, but that isn’t illegal. No reason to keep going.
Ideally, cop asks what’s up and cam guys says “1A audit” and they’re both on their way. Then nobody wastes time.

I have an opinion of this video. Based on what I said of my opinion, I can conclude that this person video recording this interaction with the police a waste of time/resource.
Why was the police called? Maybe the property owner had no idea what this video recorder was doing. Was the video recorder causing a disturbance? Was the video recorder impeding traffic going thru? Was this video recorder acting "suspicious" (not a crime) that prompted a call to police because they were concerned with their own safety? What if the complainant was a frail grandma that felt unsafe/scared because he was walking around with no purpose video recording outside her property and wanted the police to investigate? The police duty is to ensure the safety of the public.
The police need to investigate all calls they receive. I pretty sure the police would rather spend more time on real emergency or calls of potential safety matters and not have to respond to these "A1" audit.
Again, good job by the officer to respond, investigate and resolve this situation.
I addition, did the video recorder say, "just doing an" A1 audit"? So... just by saying "I'm doing an A1 Audit" will make the officer turn around and leave? Really? What a horrible officer of the law if that was the case. The officer needs to investigate, adress the concern on the complainant, resolve the issues.
Video recorder needs to have a hobby beside filming these videos where he antagonize police to feed into his ego. Just an opinion.
Also, I cant imagine how hard/dangerous/ stressful being a cop would be. My thanks goes out to all the good decent cops out there.

Fact is the waste of time is caused by responding to a ridiculous call. You’re trying to make excuses for everyone except the auditor. Your analysis is made for the purpose of convicting the auditor. That’s called bias.
