I had the privilege of working with this great man i served my apprenticeship with him and rode my 1st race on a horse called MY CINDERELA at Wolverhampton race course. My greatest experience.
I remember that ride. You couldn't ride in a soap box.

Great bloke and boss was my first full time job in racing in 1987 loved it stayed 6 months before moving back up yorkshire as apprentice to William Pearce.. eventually about 1996 I came back to clives box driving will always have massive respect for him and his headlads jock brown Jimmy Miller and travelling headlad John spouse

User Friendly and Rizeena. Love them! And some of the Saeed Manana runners were real class.
I fancied one of his for my life at Royal Ascot one day and said to someone I am sure this is going to win Clive was standing close by and must of heard me and said it's been working really well he said it so that I could hear which gave me the office to go in with my head down and sure enough it won.

LEGEND is the perfect description of this PIONEER ! . Yes maybe a few ideas were borrowed from M V O'Brien , but Clive started with nothing , apart from what he learned and a great brain. Thoroughly enjoyed this documentary , would like to hear some of his real devilish tricks thru the years. But they maybe for after 9pm when those in Authority are asleep or in their clubs. Trainer of my favourite racehorse PEBBLES..She won it all.. eclipse(1st filly to win it) 1000guineas, champion stakes(beating all ages an sexes inc Derby winner and Middle distance champs. THEN to capit all she was 1st GBR HORSE TO WIN A BREEDERS CUP RACE-THE MILE AN HALF TURF.. I Met her in 1989 at dalham hall stud an she was so lovely
