Big Block Barracuda in the shop! 440 Powered Drag Car needs some setup assistance! Mopar Muscle!

- Racing season isn't done yet here in Ohio and today we're under the jaws of a gorgeous 1969 Plymouth Barracuda for some steering and suspension setup! With a very rowdy Chrysler 440 under the flat black hood this bad fish is built for business, but we've got to get it running straight and true before it can get to work!
Custom alignment setup is a big part of what we do here at Lucore Automotive, whether that's classic cars, american muscle cars, race cars, or just general every day daily drivers. An old friend of mine who has since passed away had one of these barracuda with a highly modified 67 wedge head 440 with high rise tunnel ram and two four barrels and was extremely fast.
Hopefully you made a lot of great memories with your friend before he passed! It's a tried and true process, take "small" light weight Mopar, shove angry 440 under the hood. Feed it air and fuel, light it on fire, and keep it straight!

@franklong8573 certainly and even the "small block" Mopars can end up quite big and nasty! A taste for every type in the Mopar world
Im not in the slightest a brand loyalist, but that cuda is a nice unit.

This one we ALL loved when it rolled up, very clean cool car with plenty of rumble to back up those Mopar looks. Should be a whole lot better, and ready for testing now!

I bought tubular upper arms that have more caster built in when I did my suspension, it pays to upgrade to them instead of putting bushings in the original. But if your budget doesn't allow Moog makes an offset bushing to improve the issue, plus they make fully adjustable upper control arms. Any how great video !
Absolutely spot on comment, if you can, a modern tubular arm / suspension is they way to go. Designed for more modern alignment specs and modern tires also often coming with a whole lot better adjustability than what you'll get out of 50+ year old factory stamped steel bits.
Where I'm from these alignment shop don't won't to align A Bodies.
Unfortunately you aren't alone in that fewer and fewer shops are willing or able to do this kind of alignment work 😞
