      I have the same problem too and I think it’s actually very common but I hope you found out a way to fix it. I found a video by Dr.Dan’s voice essentials called “how to sing higher in chest voice” which gives a variety of vocal exercises that should help with that. I don’t know how well they work because I haven’t tried it out yet because I need to strengthen my actual chest voice but I think that video is the right one to look at as opposed to “How to belt” which is something I have been searching up. Best of luck to you with your singing ❤️

    I'm so confused about high head voice, belts, falsetto, etc. I don't know the difference.
    I don't even know the notes or what notes I'm singing!! I tried looking it up but that wasn't useful.
    I only learn about singing from your videos..
    Please make a video for this.

      Hi there Christy- thank you for your feedback. That's an interesting idea about doing a video about vocal terminology - I'll look into it! Basically the part of our range that is lower and closest to our speaking voice is called chest voice. As we go higher in our range our voice needs to change into head voice- which often sounds weaker and breathy. This is corrected with strengthening our head voice > th-cam.com/video/Qm8vlMW_nc0/w-d-xo.html. Falsetto describes that weak, breathy head voice tone but some use it to describe head voice in general (there is some debate about this!). Here is some info on belting - th-cam.com/video/QRaQ72AhKmk/w-d-xo.html. Thanks again for your question - I hope you found this helpful! =)

      Everyone has a chest voice and a head voice. It just depends on how well you’ve worked it. A chest voice is when you feel the vibrations in your chest, hence, chest voice. Find some exercises to help work it

    Hello Kerri Ho, I'm a 17 year old guy and have problems with my singing voice. So, when I was a kid, I used to have a good singing voice (I was definitely talented), but when my voice broke during puberty I stopped being able to sing properly; I remember that the very first days I just couldn't keep my breath. I would sing like one line and I would already be out of breath. I also remember feeling pain and pressure in the lower part of my vocal cords. So now I wanna know, what can I do to get that voice back or to improve? Just recently I learned how to sing without clenching any part of my vocal cords or my stomach (this was thanks to you) but I feel like even though I'm not putting any pressure in any of these parts and that my voice is much more smooth, I just can't reach the point where my voice hits every note or manages to carry the sound in between notes. It's funny, because if I sing in a higher vocal range I can actually sing pretty much everynote, it reminds me of how I used to sing (the bad side of doing a high pitched voice is that it sounds like I'm still 13 years old and it strains my voice a lot) And like, I know my voice wasn't perfect when I was younger, but it still was pretty good considering the fact I had never practiced singing before nor was had I trained my ear enough to be able to recognize every note; in other words, my voice was good even though my pitch was pretty bad.
    What should I do?
    Thanks,
    Julian

    • @KerriHo
      @KerriHo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello dbzeenSun! My first question to you would be are you supporting your voice with proper breathing? The voice change for guys during puberty is quite extreme, sometimes a very fast change of an octave! Therefore, what worked before the voice change probably won't work the same way afterwards. It would be important to make sure you are using healthy technique and going back to basics. Here is a link for proper breathing for singing -th-cam.com/video/mAEORkCA55c/w-d-xo.html and the steps for effortless singing -th-cam.com/video/caKwH-Xv754/w-d-xo.html If you are still having problems, I would recommend you see an ear nose & throat doctor to rule out any problems with the vocal cords themselves. I hope this helps you! =)

    I could sing with a decent chest voice but as I continued singing I found myself to become whiny as soon as I leave my low notes, I seriously can't go back and it's annoying...

    It physically pains me to sing in my chest voice. I hope I can learn how so that I can sing better.

      Did you learn to sing without pain already? I had a similar situation. It was my tongue. I've made a few vids about it on my channel.
