I have a buddy who did the same but on a Ford Pickup truck 3500 and he invested nearly $100,000 to make it nearly bullet resistant level 4. Down from enhancing the chassis to making the motor a little bit stronger and the tires huge it’s all worth it. I mean a car will always go down in value, but if it’s for surviving it’s definitely worth it.
Those bars are so widely spaced they'd allow the windshield to be easily smashed plus they'd make a good ladder for mutants to climb all over the vehicle. I've seen real riot-proofed vehicles in Central America and the window coverings are typically made from expanded metal. Also unless those are run-flat tires that could be a real problem. This thing's more like a movie prop than a real SHTF vehicle.
