~ Five years later, and thank you, Tracie and Matt, for reason and intelligence. Hard to believe a person would thank you for such obviously desirable qualities, until you listen to more than a few of the callers to TAE! Cheers, DAVEDJ ~

Hi Matt, I have been watching your show 2 years and you are amazing!! I am an ex Muslim and then Christian, now I just don’t believe in religion at all... Just wanted to let you know that I think that your doing an fantastic show!!

Rod is just another example of how religion leaves incredible negative mental baggage straight into adulthood. So sad to see.

Rod has lots of other stuff going on. He is in his mid 30's and still crying about 'being treated unfairly' as a teenager. He is still doing the people pleasing, little sneaky attention seeking thing. Putting on this big show, crying...he says "it's going to get dark and heavy', i was expecting a story of someone getting killed or something the way he started that story, not "I was made to go to church when i was 4." My unsolicited advice: your going to be 40 soon, time to get past what mom and dad did wrong, get some therapy, live your life.

In the Netherlands Abortion in legal for years and years. Although sometimes the political parties with a religious background, try to change the law, they never succeed when it comes to vote for a change of that law.
Pablo must talk in his church and keep his thoughts in these circles. Don’t try to turn back time to where the clergy decided what is good and what not.

@@JoeyMars101 i think he is referring to how your statement implies that there are 4 people. twin(two people born at ruffly the same time, from same mother), pair a set of two so your saying a pair of twins so 4 people, or at the very least your statement is redundant.... Hopefully that clears up things, your welcome.

Jarred is the worst form of libertarian. I cannot believe he does not consider himself a "sovereign citizen". What a goof. Move to your own private island, Jarred, if you do not want to belong to a society.

His views are the same as libertarians, minimum government. Think about it, we would have no national defense, even if there was money for a standing army due to lack of funds to pay them, we may not get enough volunteers to staff it and the draft would be out of the question

~ 13:00 is another of Tracie's amazing depth charges. When offered argument from look at the trees...reply with argument from broken toaster. You are restating theirs. They can see its not valid.
You can even, easily, point at P1 as a bald assertion that would need to be demonstrated before acceptance. Then that God made the trees is their P1.

      P1 Gremlins break toasters.
      P2 My toaster is broken.
      Conclusion: Gremlins exist.

The one thing I agree with on the libertarian thing is that I didn't sign anything to say that I would adhere to the laws of my country of birth. If I want to eat, I have no choice but to earn money because there are no places left where I could go to exist outside of society.

Did Rod (British Columbia, Canada) say, he's been listening to the show for 4 years. Blimey, I've tuned in to a number of old re-runs over the last few months for the entertainment value of watching Matt and Tracie et al, dispose of weak apologetic arguments, but 4 years!!!!!!! I feel for the poor guy and wish someone would build him a tunnel so he could run free

Re Jared convo: one alternative is to leave the country, sure. But the other alternative is to live under the poverty level so your taxes won't support those wars you disagree with. Of course this doesn't work if everybody does it but there have been plenty of "war tax resistors" throughout history

It is not slavery in the pure sense, but being drafted into the military is somewhat like slavery in that you can't just say I quit, unless you are an officer, in which case, you can resign your Commission.

    • @aliceIMF
      @aliceIMF 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

sure you can quit the military. they will court martial you and prolly throw you in leavenworth, but you still can do it and not be murdered. when you try to quit slavery, they hunt you down with bloodhounds and either shoot you, lynch you, or beat you to death. so, yeah, being drafted is nothing at all like slavery.
