My favourite ride is the smiler. Love the quality of some of the inversions and the air time hills. Really does have an incredible atmosphere while off ride as well.
I love rita. Its such an under-rated ride but that launch still comes as a shock no matter how many times we ride it. I wish it was longer and had some better theming but the launch is still strong and offers some good airtime towards the back.

A note on the Talbot hounds for you. A particular earl of the family (as far as I’m aware the 15th Earl) loved and owned a number of that breed of dog and had them incorporated into statues around the house and gardens when parts of the house were ‘remodelled’ and rebuilt. Including the coat of arms that includes them. (Used to work for Alton Towers and I don’t live far from it love the history of the place)
For myself and my family it's Wicker man. We travel down as much as possible to enjoy 2-3 in Alton Towers. Love the rides and the park. Would love to win some tickets to allow us another geat visit this year.

I have tickets to go on my birthday this year but I’d absolutely love to go back later in the year for the firework shows on bonfire night and to ride the wicker man in the dark!

The bear story is true! Worked at AT for 6 years and did several staff exclusive heritage tours and that story was confirmed.

I cannot verify but I'm sure I read somewhere that the Talbot hound was named Henry. Indeed a park mascot in the 90s was also named Henry Hound.
