@EposVox I'm sure you didn't say it wrong willingly but most cheaper analog mixers just only have 2in2out soundcards so ASIO wont do anything more except maybe improve latency. Your Signature 12 is an exemption but unless you're going for a digital mixer multitrack most of the time just ain't an option.

So, I've been wondering this for a while and I'm not sure if you'd even consider this as a viable use case but... I was wondering if you had an ASIO mixer, could you run something like a concert or church service off of OBS with all of your instrument effects being VSTs loaded on OBS. That way, the audio mix you're sending to the room from the mixer and the one going out on your live stream are exactly the same level and eq and you can minimize the amount of hardware you would need to achieve a high quality sound. I don't know that this solution would be less expensive than a typical mixer setup for a venue, but it would make it far more Livestream friendly (assuming you have the cpu power to make it all work). I know some bands have been livestreaming concerts on Twitch and I wonder if this would be an alternative to micing instruments up if you simply ran your guitars through Helix Native and vocals through Reaper VSTs for reverb and delay. Potentially, you could even run midi controllers to allow your musicians to actively change their sound through the VSTs, perhaps by making the midi controllers que hotkeys or something. What do you think? Dumb idea or potentially genius?

Thank you for this. I would really like to see how this all works with your Behringer. I have a Yamaha 12MGXU, but run everything completely analog into my computers via multiple "Mix Minuses". I would love to see how this works with USB. Would i be able to separate my channels from my mixer, finally, within OBS?
I have the go xlr plugged into my game pc via usb so the only thing I have on obs on my stream pc is the line in and line out. I need to some how separate the xlr mic Audio from the game audio and all the sound coming from the game pc to the stream pc so I can put separate filters on the raw mic sound coming from the go xlr.
One think to point out is that this plugin is ASIO INPUT only. You will not be able to capture ASIO output from another program, such as a DAW. To capture the DAW output you will still need VoiceMeeter.
@@Liqiuir it depends on what console you have, if it can support multi track you can assign each track to usb out to your pc/laptop. Analog console sometimes have 2 auxilliaries, and only 2 tracks can be recorded separately.
Does this change your opinion of audio mixers such as the Behringer Xenyx X2222USB? You mentioned in your Amazon review it's output was too quiet to use without having to raise noise floor to the point of getting hiss.
I read on the forums about this plug in. I think its the right one for me. Since I'll be using my DJ mixer with built in soundcard. Great video. But just for safety, I got to ask. Is it virus free?
Eposvox, I seek guidance what to do to use audio of OBS on Google meet or Zoom. Video can be with virtual cam but how to get it for audio as processed Audio with filters (EQ,compression etc) is really better in OBS.
I've been trying to figure this out and multiple sources link to the exact same plugin. However, even though I've installed the plugin and restarted OBS, I still do not see the ASIO option come up on my scene list. Any suggestions on what more I may need to do? Thank you
I also have a Yamaha MG10XU.... I kind of improved the USB issues with a better cable... The Yamaha Steinberg ASIO is detected in OBS but the channels cannot be selected. They say “mute”. I finally did it using Voicemeter Banana, selecting WDM and KU as outputs and then ASIO in OBS with the Voicemeter Virtual ASIO selected and then the channels.
@@AlejandroGuerrero Interesting might try a different cable someday again tried with both the new one i bought and also the other one I had for my Scarlett 2i2 before but got audio dropout with all of them also tried using Latencymon with no reported bad latency. Also tried with 2 different PC and Reinstall Clean Windows 10 same story. But what i did to solve it all and skip USB for me was to get 2 Y-Cables Analog so i send audio from the green audio port on back of PC to Mixer Channel 9/10 and then i did the same with sending Audio from the Mixer to PC Line-In and all audio dropouts and weirdness gone. Would be fun to be able to use the USB with ASIO but hoping for improvement on their drivers and maybe even Windows 10 if its that combo that breaks it more.
do you know which behringer mixer offers 18 channels of asio audio like you mentioned here? I looked up the xenyx x2222 that is pictured here but can't find the information that says it outputs more than 2x2 in the usb interface.
Thanks for the video! Please help me understand this (as I’m not very good with tech like this, I’m trying though 😅) I’m a music producer using a UAD Apollo Twin audio interface with Ableton. Currently, I’m using Blackhole to with a multi output device (MacOS) to route audio from Ableton DAW to OBS. The only problem is that my interface only has 2 inputs. I want to utilize my H4n Pro as my microphone and save my UAD audio interface for recording sounds off of my outboard sound modules/keyboards while on livestream. Will this ASIO plug in solve my problem? 🙏🏼
Huh? You're using macOS. ASIO is Windows. It was created to overcome Windows limitations. You shouldn't need anything like that on Mac, look at "Audio MIDI Setup"
Chris Broadfoot ohhh I asked a question in a forum and someone pointed me to this video. You can’t connect the interface directly to OBS; you have to use a ‘multi output device’ in audio midi setup with something like Blackhole, soundflower, ishowU, etc. But I want to connect 2 interfaces at the same time; so I’m a little confused on how to do it
Seems similar to Voicemeeter w/ the exception that its an integrated plugin to OBS. Have you messed around w/ Voicemeeter? I've been using it for about 2 years now and it has done me well but I'm always interested in learning new tech options.
Also more channels, I use VM Potato and love it! But this would allow tons of individual channels directly to OBS instead of 5 that Potato offers, plus multiple devices...... I have no need for it but can totally see use for it.
This is complex. I'm using Voicemeter Banana in my podcast. So I can have a discord call from my pc routed to a different track. This works fine. I jave three sound inputs in my podcast - my own mic, discord and my desktop sound. I am thinking about to get a mixer like rodecaster, so I could use the fader sliders to control these sounds easily. I am searching around and it seems I wont be able to do this with a rodecaster. Do you guys have done something like this?
Do you know if there is a linux plugin in a similar vein ? Looking at the builtin alsa or jack plugins you end up with one track for all your sound cards inputs.
Great video my friend! you have help our Studio a lot. However, still with the plugin the OBS doesn't recognise the 18 channels of our behringer XR18. We can only set up to 8 channels when we select the higher format (7.1). Can you help us with this?
That's obs's set of formats which it understands, since I didn't want to have the plugin do any additional resampling those're the options I provided. TLDR; unless you grab the edited version of obs which supports full 16 channel surround and are streaming to something (recording to a file would be fine) giving you the option to treat your device as an 8 channel surround sound was the best I could reasonably do without secretly having the plugin doing extra work to modify your audio. If you're "missing" channels, keep in mind the plugin only captures inputs, a lot of devices have "output" channels, those aren't reliably accessible.
How about doing this review on the AR mixer series from Presonus. That is what I use specifically the AR12. But the only thing is, it sends out each channel in pairs over USB. Example 1/2 3/4 5/6 etc and including a 2 channel stereo mix and it shows up as separate devices in sound properties. The AR12 supports separate devices from the same unit but in pairs over a single USB connection. The AR8 only supports 2 channel stereo. So this would be perfect for your next video. If there was a way to separate these channels into OBS for live mixing on my music jams it would be super awesome!! I also use a refurbished MacBook pro from 2012 and would this work on MacOS to? If it would it would make mobile jams even easier! Check out the AR8 here! On my channel I've had comments on my AR12 and running it for longer periods and it doesn't get hot at all, stays nice and cool and good for streaming and live stuff. Had a viewer who's there's was fried and Presonus sent them a new one on the spot. If I’m using a MG10XU Yamaha mixer does this mean I can get my mic channel separate from the gaming pc and streaming pc audio channels? I’m confused when you said lower price mixers are now more useful?
Your mixer only has 2 output channels so chosing for ASIO instead of WDM will only help you with some lower latency. In the case of his Signature 12 from Soundcraft it did bring extra features for him. However many cheaper analog mixing boards just only have 2 channels in/out cause building in a multitrack usb interface costs a lot.
buy a behringer uphoria umc 404 hd and two xlr cables and hook up the left and right stereo out into your 1-2 input and have your pc sounds go through the audio interface and bam
so it doesn't record stereo out of the interface? just have to create a source for every input of the interface? would be good if you could just capture the monitor/stereo out of the soundcard before the speakers. is this possible? i thought this plugin handled loopback
Sorry Epos, But i have more questions than answer's...Love your enthusiasm though.. I think we would all like you to ELABORATE on HOW and WHY, we need the asio plug in.... Great content as usual...

If you are just using one USB mic it will be seen by Windows and you can make it the default device if not already. OBS defaults to using the default mic.
Paolo Umali no your mixer doesn’t have multitrack usb
@@lucasriddervevo sadness :(
Wouldn't work with the behringer mixer either
I haven’t even started watching this video. But Im hoping that this plugin allows to Master the downmix of track 1 entirely.
Thanks! Saved me
Thank you for this, I'll try this on our church live stream! Stay safe!
How is it going out to you? Does it work? Like can you record each singers and band in a separate or own track?
@@Liqiuir it depends on what console you have, if it can support multi track you can assign each track to usb out to your pc/laptop. Analog console sometimes have 2 auxilliaries, and only 2 tracks can be recorded separately.
could you check out the motu m4 mixer? it looks decent and i would like to know how i'd set that up with obs.
I love you nails man! thank you for this video
Does this change your opinion of audio mixers such as the Behringer Xenyx X2222USB? You mentioned in your Amazon review it's output was too quiet to use without having to raise noise floor to the point of getting hiss.
Can I do the same thing with the Xenyx X1832?
I read on the forums about this plug in. I think its the right one for me. Since I'll be using my DJ mixer with built in soundcard. Great video. But just for safety, I got to ask. Is it virus free?
Eposvox, I seek guidance what to do to use audio of OBS on Google meet or Zoom. Video can be with virtual cam but how to get it for audio as processed
Audio with filters (EQ,compression etc) is really better in OBS.
this is awesome! Thanks!
I've been trying to figure this out and multiple sources link to the exact same plugin. However, even though I've installed the plugin and restarted OBS, I still do not see the ASIO option come up on my scene list. Any suggestions on what more I may need to do? Thank you
what is the Mac version of ASIO, I heard it was Loopback. How do you use it? what do you do?
They have ASIO support now? This will make things so much easer lol
I cant even use ASIO because of Yamahas broken USB drivers that creates Audio Dropouts with the MG10XU :(
I also have a Yamaha MG10XU....
@@AlejandroGuerrero whats your i/o latency my man?
2.8k views are this time, let’s divide by 2, there should be at least 1.4k votes. Come on!!!
what would you say the best headphones for gaming are?
Very nice
do you know which behringer mixer offers 18 channels of asio audio like you mentioned here? I looked up the xenyx x2222 that is pictured here but can't find the information that says it outputs more than 2x2 in the usb interface.
How were you able to get the output of the X2222 to send signal to OBS? I downloaded the OBS ASIO plugin but I’m not getting a output signal
Thanks for the video! Please help me understand this (as I’m not very good with tech like this, I’m trying though 😅)
I’m a music producer using a UAD Apollo Twin audio interface with Ableton.
@@mlipping You can get more with virtual audio cables.
Do you think this will work with the Rodecaster Pros multichannel audio?
Pretty sure the Xenyx mixer you showed won't show 22 inputs in Windows. It's a 2x2 USB interface. Can someone verify?
Chris Broadfoot yeah it’s true. His soundcraft signature 12 is one of A few analog boards that can do this so this video ain’t entirely right
Thank you!
Can this be used to sorta broadcast in multiple languages if used in conjunction with other plugins & such?
Muito Obrigado!
Do you know if this works properly with Universal Audio products?
I wish I would have found this before I beating my head against a wall figuring it all out. Haha
youre gold buddy
i bet you didn't notice the sound changes when he mentioned them from 00:08
How about doing this review on the AR mixer series from Presonus. Something like this would also be totally awesome for small church livestreams too.

Should I ever get my hands on one, sure.
@@lucasriddervevo darn. I got my hopes up for a bit there. 😂
CrimZon Gaming yeah the feature would be really nice but for most people better preamps would be more usefull
buy a behringer uphoria umc 404 hd and two xlr cables and hook up the left and right stereo out into your 1-2 input and have your pc sounds go through the audio interface and bam
mrengels the Yamaha already has A audio interface so he’s already able to do that he wants to receive the Individual channels
so it doesn't record stereo out of the interface? just have to create a source for every input of the interface? would be good if you could just capture the monitor/stereo out of the soundcard before the speakers. is this possible? i thought this plugin handled loopback
Hey man can you make a video on audio delay of recording on streamlabs obs?😕
Sorry Epos, But i have more questions than answer's...Love your enthusiasm though.. I think we would all like you to ELABORATE on HOW and WHY, we need the asio plug in....
Great content as usual...
So.... What questions do you not have answers to? I definitely showed you how, and I explained why with example scenarios where it might be beneficial, and how it would have even saved me money over the years. What are you missing? That was literally the point of the video.
@@EposVox This ...
Pretty sure the Xenyx mixer you showed won't show 22 inputs in Windows. It's a 2x2 USB interface
This..
I'm sure you didn't say it wrong willingly but most cheaper analog mixers just only have 2in2out soundcards so ASIO wont do anything more except maybe improve latency. Your Signature 12 is an exception but unless you're going for a digital mixer multitrack most of the time just ain't an option.
And , if i understand you correctly, your saying add ASIO devices to windows, which from a driver point of view is going to cause problems for ordinary/casual streamers ( imho )
Dont get me wrong, im not having a go at you, i'm a tad confused on the implementation of it.
Regards.
Brian Haywood thanks for citing my comment man i was A little confused too cause almost no analog mixers have the multitrack functionality
What about for Mac!?!? Having issues getting it working on my Mac. Tried Audio Hijack with sound flower but it doesn't seem to wanna work...
HI good morning, for this asio only have input but dont have output audio?it mean just only for mic input?
The reason daws dont allow you to plug in multiple audio interfaces is because they have different timings and the audio won't sync up correctly.
You can do it with an aggregate interface but you suffer reliability and/or latency costs
Do you know if this would work with the rode podcaster pro by chance?
If you are just using one USB mic it will be seen by Windows and you can make it the default device if not already. OBS defaults to using the default mic. You may need to go to advanced audio in OBS to set the mic input as mono (otherwise you'll come out of one side only). The Podcaster may input as stereo though, I don't know.
@@Safetytrousers thanks for the reply I was hoping to be able to add the mic input on one channel and then then sound pads on another. Would be fun for streams/Obs recording.
Hey does this support the Mackie Pro FX 8v2?
Hmmm I cant seem to get stereo working? Any tips? I can only seem to get right chan input working
Any idea if this works with Streamlabs OBS?
Why can I not access separate track inputs on my audio interface in any of these programs like voicemeeter and OBS asio?
I had been trying something similar for our live stream. I still run into problems though, and not sure what’s the cause. I have mixer audio coming from my Behringer x32, into Reaper. I have the sound exactly how I want it in Reaper. Then I ReRoute to ASIO and OBS picks it up just fine, until I add video to the recording/streaming. At that point the audio gets super choppy.
Sounds like dpc latency, cpu can't keep up
Thank you for your very helpful videos. However, regarding this one, I'm still experiencing the same dropout as I did before. I get this quick dropout thing. I've tried everything. I thought this may be the answer, but I'm still having the same thing.
