      I think it would be a nice addition to your video series if you make a vedio about investment in British overseas territories like Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Montserrat,.. etc. to get British citizenship

    FYI, Thailand has been advertising a new 10 year Long Term Resident ((LTR) visa beginning September’22. It costs 50,000 baht (about $1,700), and has benefits. Looks very interesting.

      Apparently the main requirement is to have a health insurance of $50,000 OR have deposited $100,000 in your bank in the past 12 months. Also have an income of $80,000 for the past 2 years.

    Great information. It sounds like applying for a permanent residence is the way go, if you are wanting land, a home, and eventually a 2nd citizenship. Thanks for separating the differences. No digital visa for me!

    Digital nomad visa is just a tourist visa with additional income and healthcare requirements. However IF the time spent in country counted towards citizenship, that would be a game changer

    What are your opinions on taxes for digital nomad visas? I know it varies per country, but for some countries like Colombia the rules are really grey. Colombia claims they tax you on your global income, including properties owned abroad if you reside in the country for more than 180 days each year. Do you think these visas are worth it if you'd be paying taxes to your home country and the country where you have the digital nomad visa?

  • @1russoturisto
    @1russoturisto ปีที่แล้ว

    one more pro of a digital nomad visa in my case is that it is a lot less beurocratic than other types of visas, which is a big plus specially when you already live outside of your country of origin (that issued all your paperwork). Plus the school for kids requires visa and kids can't be admitted on the 90 days social pass. Student visa is an option and should be straight forward to apply and get but it is very demanding when it comes to paperwork.

      For most nationalities, you can just show up as long you don't stay more than a year in one go. If you don't qualify or want something more permanent, +/- $100k in real estate investment can get you in long term.

      @@BlazeGuitarLessons You have to buy property in excess of 100k USD. There is also program where you can just invest 300k (with a lot of stipulations that would require professional help to make sure you get right). The latter allows you to upgrade the temporary residence to permanent residence after 5 years rather than 10.

    Thanks, very informative! Do you know if it’s legal to work remotely while on vacation? It seems to be a grey area? Some sources say yes, because of tax treaties, not taking jobs from locals, not in a bricks and mortar building, paying taxes in home country Etc, etc… but others say no, but don’t really explain why? Also when arriving in a country most suggest the purpose of the visit as vacation Etc… but what if asked about occupation? I wonder would the entry rules state not to work while on vacation? Any answers appreciated as I’m an English tutor and I travel a lot! Best Wishes, D

    I don't understand your point of tourist visa vs remote work visa: aren't you illegally working from a country if you're on a tourist visa? It can also be a tax liability for the company you're working for.

      What passport do you hold / country of primary residence ( If you're in the US , Mexico might be a better option, or if you're in Australia, Bali is a common option )

    The words come so fast that they blur together, yet the info bandwidth is slow due to circling back to the same point over and over. Can be exhausting to decode words, esp with poor audio or english skills. Don't need glossy air of excitement, just let solid content sell itself.
