I believe Rick is a hoarder. Living next to a dumpster and can't throw their trash away. They need to do at least something for themselves. You are a saint for sticking with them. People who have homes and food and think they are in bad shape should watch this!

I don’t know how you have the patience to keep helping people who show no gratitude and don’t want to help themselves. Trust me, I do understand mental illness but I would be so frustrated by them. X
They are grateful, but have mental & physical issues. Never judge another unless you've been in their shoes. When you have nothing you get rid of nothing. They can eat stuff that would make others sick, because their body adjusts to it. Bless your heart Michael, for not judging & helping them. My prayers for all.

Sadly every shopping cart stolen makes goods more costly. Their has to be alcoholism, drugs, and mental problems. I mean literally laying in their own excrements with flies. They throw their cig butts just anywhere. The wasted food is sad as these guys seem to need more help then anyone could provide. They must spend all their money on something besides food. Sad but when do they ever help themselves if someone does everything for them. You are doing God’s work. Thank you

That’s a hard situation. I suspected Cali might do a little better without Rick but won’t walk away from him. Regardless, they are still people and deserve to be treated humanely. Thank you for being the hands and feet to serve for others who cannot.

It's hard to help people who won't help themselves and that's what going on here .. I mean they didn't have any interest at all on helping you clean their mess and didn't even act like they appreciated you doing it either .. you have a heart of gold they are lucky they have you I hope it all works out for them it hurts to see it her human beings struggle like that and seeing it really makes you count your blessings and appreciate what I have .. thank you for being you michael
Mental health plays a big factor. They might appreciate it more than we think. I’ve worked in an elderly facility and at some point people just stop responding like they used to, but they still deserve humanity.

Think of someone's symptoms as their strengths. People without homes are at extreme risk for all the sicknesses and what comes of them. Yet they're still living. They for sure need help. I am commenting rather late on this video as it is now almost a year later. I am wondering how they are doing now in February, 2023.

Hey Michael, you have so much patience. I don't know how you do it. Why don't the homeless clean up their sites. Being homeless doesn't mean you have to live in such a mess. 99% are able to get around and you even leave trash bags for them. I don't know. It seems they may possibly lose their self worth. Am I right. All said, you are a good man.

I'm a 100% disabled veteran this is for the first comment. In my 60s have been homeless for many years please don't believe all you see on t.v. this country doesn't do much for there vets. Especially Vietnam veterans that's why you see alot of older veterans homeless we give up on this country cause the country give up on us. Thank you for your service. It's a insult to most of us. But still I'll give my life for it.

I've been waiting for somebody to do this here in my city because God knows this city needs all the kindness people can give. Thank you for what you do seriously!!!! I'm homeless in Florida. I can't begin to thank you for everything your doing for us that for what ever reason find ourselves in this situation. But Michael if they can walk and move please let them clean up their own mess. I live in the woods with 4 sites and we all clean up after ourselves. You always say God bless you,me being a Christian I know he smiles and thanks you for doing what a lot of people won't.

And that would involve a lot of time. As they would have to be declared incomption. Was told by a lawyer onetime its hard to do if they have any mind at all. But wish they could be put in a place where they were seen after.

I don't think he can let go now, like a stray dog, they depend on him for food and water. I wonder what happens to the ice chest, sleeping bags and tents he has given them before. I just don't understand.
The tents and sleeping bags are more than likely being stolen by other homeless people.

I live in Tucson Arizona. We are seeing so many more homeless people because the rents went up so much here in the last few months. We’re gonna be looking at a new California if this doesn’t stop. Very sadHave a homeless couple living in their van here in the parking lot where I work.

To me I personally think the hoarding is due to the fact that they don't have much and what little they do have or get they hold onto and are afraid of letting go or throwing it away, I really hope and pray they get help and find that little piece of heaven, keep doing the amazing service you do for these people

I don't know how you do it. Very frustrating to see how they don't seem to appreciate anything. Other people on that bus are put in jeopardy by their uncleanliness. So sad to see this at any age, but when it is seniors, it is very heartbreaking. It would seem a mental health facility should somehow be able to help. Bless your heart Michael. 😇🙏
They probably have lice, scabies, bedbugs, staph etc... Stuff antibiotics will not cure

Those two old guys is a hard sceen to see, i donno..but it's the first time of all the people i've seen in your videos..the first people that's actually giving up/gave up..judging by the mess they have/make...i get the feeling that they are not really even trying. I hear there's a St, St Michael who is giving a helping hand to the homeless in AZ. St Michael you ve just converted me because of the kindness of your heart. I live in Illinois/Iowa area and its starting to get warmer, May 2022. We don't have many camping out but a few on street corners and the heatwave will be soon. Michael you're amazing... Every time I see a homeless person my heart aches wishing I can do something for them.. with a recent experience I had makes me want to help them even more. By a freak of nature I became homeless for for whole 4 days and three nights. I'm a 58 yr old widow and it was super uncomfortable and terrifying. Forced me to learn what homeless people truly need.1... miniature trash bags to party in if there's nowhere else available. Wet wipes for bathing, sunglasses,socks, shampoo, hand sanitizer,, gloves, a warm hoodie flashlight, the knowledge were to charge my phone, and believe it or not a cup of soup , easy to warn up at a local 7-Eleven as long as you don't look homeless.
Another great treasure would be dry shampoo that you just spray in your hair takes away the oily look

I see what you mean Michael. Since Rick is a hoarder and there are plenty of shopping carts you should ask him to use one basket for trash & another for what he wants to keep at least this way everything is off the ground. And maybe everytime he had a full basket of trash then reward him with something. I don't like to say like a kid but whatever works for them to keep trash off the ground is good.

Lucky, they have you. Was homeless in san diego for awhile. Police were very strict.and buses not free. These guys are lucky in someways. They are easy targets

Glad you helped to clean up some of their trash. Nothing gets these folks ran off faster than a dirty trashy filthy camp. Sometimes it's hard to clean-up because some of them are hoarders.
Too much rubbish will attract attention from the authority to come kick them out, no matter where they go. But can’t blame them, being old is never easy to do house keeping. Michael you’re so very kind🙏❤️🙏
