It's just saddening how special moves are often so much better than physical moves. One of the best examples is Petal Blizzard vs Petal Dance. Petal Blizzard: Physical, 90 bp, confuses at the end. Petal Dance: Special, 120 bp, confuses at the end. And Play Rough (the only physical fairy move) vs Moonblast. Moonblast: 95 bp, 100% accuracy, 30% chance to lower Sp. Atk. Play Rough: 90 bp, 90% accuracy, 10% chance to lower Atk. What does Gamefreak have against physical attackers?
When I first show Luxray's sprite, I thought that it would be a very fast pokemon but it got outsped by so many pokemon of npc's. I was really disappointed and never used Luxray after my first run. It is so slow for a cat.
I got so pissed at how bad Luxray is despite looking so cool that i tried to make it work as much as possible. The closest thing to "decent" was a Z-Electric Terrain sweeper set...which still sucked so really it was "least bad", more so than anything truly positive.
Changes to Luxray: Electric/Dark New Ability:Strong Jaw New Moves: Close Combat,Psychic Fangs Stat Changes: Switch it's Special Attack with it's speed but also give it's speed a +10 buff. Making it 105 speed. If Luxray gets these changes it will basically destroy almost every common Pokemon in Gen 8.

Give Luxray the same BST as Arcanine (who isn't even a 2nd evolution like Ray), which would allow for 32 more points: +10 HP, +22 speed. A modest buff but I feel like base 92 speed would make a world of difference over 70.
I might be very, very, biased but I think Luxray should have a BST of 600. I'm saying that Luxray should be a pseudo legendary. When was the last time we had a good physical attacker that WASN'T legendary? However, the stat spread between Speed, Def, and SpD would be difficult, and I think Luxray should have a speed stat of over 100. I might be biased towards luxray, but it deserves better! Oh and if not the stat thing then maybe a dark typing Edit: Maybe 105 speed, and 100 points for both defenses?

For people who didn’t know, around Late March/Early April, Untiered was added to the Gens 5 and 6 meta games. Given how big NU and PU of their respective generations were. Also Luxray is Untiered in BW as of now

Unfortunately, Volt Tackle is exclusive to the Pichu line, Bolt Strike is exclusive to Zekrom, and Plasma Fist is exclusive to Zeraora. There would need to be a new 100+ base power electric move that most electric types can learn.
Here's a suggestion make more pokemon learn volt tackle for physical electric types at the very least sure it has recoil but it better than fricken wild charge by a lot

Slaking wasn’t horrible in Gen 3 due to how obscenely destructive its choice band set it, but past that, yeah, Slaking was definitely worthy of the “How BAD was (pokemon name) ACTUALLY?”

Luxray being pure electric breaks this design language in the context of Pokémon. It’s why many wonder why Grapploct isn’t a water type despite being a blue sea creature looking Pokémon.

But imo, its a trade off because Luxrays mono electric sucks already Dark gives him a 2nd stab and at least some sort of switch ins. Mono typing just isnt that good, look at Electivire.

Give this Lynx a mega. Add a Dark type, Strong Jaw for an ability to crank up the power of it's fang moves and provide it excellent coverage, then 45 additional points in speed to outrun about 80% of the metagame. Throw in an extra 20 attack, 10 to each of the defenses, 15 to special attack. Intimidate pre-mega would give it some extra physical bulk too. Instant OU staple.

I've been hoping for years that it could minimally get a pretty large speed boost(20+), seeing as it's a cat-like electric pokemon, but apparently not. I've even thought they could maybe create an ability that would allow it and select other pokemon to resist ground/rock type moves(or at least make them normally effective), but yet again, gamefreak isn't that kind.
I remember when I first started playing Platinum and caught a Shinx because it looked cool. But now, it kind of breaks my heart seeing how lackluster Luxray really is.

In Renegade Platinum, they made a few changes to Luxray which made it a little better imo. They gave it Guts in gen 4, for one, as well as gave it dark typing. Being weak to fighting and bug seems not so good, but having STAB on Crunch is nice. They also added a bunch of useful moves to its kit, like Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse and Wild Charge. I realize it got a lot of this stuff later on anyway, but if it had them in gen 4 it might have had a chance. Further buffs, at least to its speed later on, might have given it some hope.
I think its time FSG started talking about ZU in Gen 7. If you don't know, ZU stands for Zero Used, its a non-official tier that was made in Gen 7 for all the pokemon that ended up untiered(since by Gen 7 we had enough of them that many people felt we could make a new tier).
Or an Alolan or Galarean variant : \ like come on GameFreak give our boy some love. Why make a cool looking pokemon trash competitively!? At least make it UU. Still my favorite mon though.
Give it a mega that's Electric/Dark and boost its speed from 70 to 120, raise both defenses from 79 to 89 and put the remaining points in attack raising it from 120 to 150 and that'd make mega luxray pretty damn good. As for an ability id say either Strong Jaw or Sheer Force but Sheer Force might be a bit too op
Fire, Ice and Electric really need new moves that would be the physical equivalent to Flamethrower, Ice Beam and Thunderbolt. 90-95 BP with 100% accuracy and widely availible in the form of TMs.
Pikachu should stop hogging Volt Tackle and share it with the Electric types that make more frequent use of physical moves. Or just make Wild Charge identical to Volt Tackle in stats and then make Volt Tackle an Electric type Head Smash.
Honestly, "slow and frail" is a death sentence in and of itself unless it has some exceptional redeeming factor. Doesn't matter what its attacking stats are like, being slow and frail is a great way to faint without doing anything except using up 1 of an opponent's PP.
They increase his speed and reduce his special attack by 35 points , give it the dark type to boost his many dark types moves and give it Strong Jaw. Make it learn Rough Play to deal with Fighting types, Super Power for coverage and better physical electric moves like Zing Zap and Zippy Zap. Aura Wheel would also be useful seeing as it can become both Dark and Electric.
@@M4x_P0w3r Aura Wheel changes type due to specifically Morpeko's ability. If anyone else were to have this move, it would probably be permanently an Electric move, but it would still be very helpful.
That's crazy something with Lux's stats even started where it did, let alone ended up. I generally think of 80's across the board as decent bulk, surprised to hear how little it could stand up to. Well, at least it had a really good entry in the TCG being one of the most dominant Mons in the Platinum era, so that's something I guess.
Luxray has a number of problems not just bad stats. Bad typing, average Movepool , slow, weak, frail, predictable, average abilities. And worst of everything tough competitive with better Electric types

Physical Electric move ideas: Zeus's Bolt: Electric Type's version of Psystrike that is a Physical move that targets Sp. Defence. Mjölnir: Electric Type's version of Crab Hammer. Lightning Strike: Electric Type's version of Head Smash. Thundercrash: Electric Type's version of Hi Jump Kick. Cable Wire: Electric Type's version of Vine Whip. Power Line: Electric Type's version of Power Whip. Lightning Speed: Electric Type's version of Extreme Speed. Or better yet... remove recoil from Wild Charge and replace it with 10% paralysis just like Thunderbolt and make Volt Tackle, Zing Zap more available to other pokemon because they have no reason to be signatures.

@@hatatatatah239 I mean, Luxray is as fast as Decidueye, whose Pokedex reads "Decidueye can nock and fire an arrow at an enemy in a tenth of a second, so its battles are decided in the blink of an eye", so obviously there's nothing wrong with it. It's not like this doesn't make any sense, and all these fast pokemon shouldn't be as fast as Ludicolo, Tentacool or Cloyster.

@@laffodile1636 It was added a few months ago I think. Every awful gen 5 and 6 Pokémon were recently just NU and PU in the Smogon page, for that reason Meganium, Dunsparce or Glaceon were not clasified as untired in their FSG video in those gens.

A slow electric type that was a mixed attacker, OOF. He was never the greatest in competitive, but he was a good carry in gen 4's story mode. Like that one Pokemon in your party that's several levels higher than the others and is always first in your party.
Gen 4 was home to so so so many poorly designed Pokémon from a gameplay/stat perspective honestly. I feel like it wasn’t until at least Gen 5 that Gamefreak figured out how to properly design that sort of stuff and everything before was either basic as hell (legendaries etc) or a fluke. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Sword/Shield’s designs, from a Gameplay/stat perspective, almost every Pokémon in it are so well designed with a goal in mind for what they can do and what their moveset should look like. Even something like Morpeko can be deadly man.
No that was bronzong for sinnoh carry due to the lack of fire types and fire moves. Luxray died way too often to get over the average level of the party unless you babied it.
I'd buff Luxray in 2 ways 1: Either give it +20 speed, or -20 speed and +10HP. The latter would allow it to work in trick room. The former could make choice scarf sets ok 2: Give it extreeme speed. Lux means illumination, as in light. Shouldn't it be able to go fast when it wants?
My proposed buffs are these: Give him a better stat spread (80/120/89/75/79/88) Give him a move like Extreme Speed, like you just said And to benefit all Physical-attacking Electric Types, make a widespread 90/95 BP Move (for example, I created a widespread Physical Electric move for a region I'm developing. It's kinda Pokémon's thing, making the designs as simple as possible. Luxray is a lynx lion hybrid, and cats tend to be Dark or Normal type in Pokémon. Dark type would suit Luxray.
No Good Physical Moves for a Physical attacker, classic GameFreak design. Like why does Wild Charge only have a base power of 90 when Flare Blitz has 120 and is basically the same move besides the typing. GameFreak please, give Volt Tackle to mons other than the Pikachu line. Hell give Electivire Plasma Fists, Close Combat and the Fighting type.
I would've just given electivire iron fists and mach punch instead but alright. Actually I would do the same to luxray give it strong jaw, all the biting moves, and a dark type for suckerpunch
Its shocking how close a lot of these pokemon were to being decent, like imagine if luxray had pitiful special attack and amazing speed to go with its physical attack, I'm not saying it wouldve been a competitive staple but it could hardly have hurt the pokemon
@Mahin Immadisetti I mean, Electric doesn't really do anything for him defensively and offensively it's a rather subpar typing. Dark is at least heavily physical oriented, gives an extra inmunity and more resists and has another STAB that he can use. And most other types don't really make sense for him, I don't see him getting a useless Normal typing and he doesn't look Ghost or Steel.
For anyone wondering about niche uses for Luxray, it actually does quite well as a surprise trick room counter due to low speed and intimidate. You can slap room service on it with thief and punish an opponent for trying to setup on you. Whats nice is gen 9 buffed howl to make it buff both ur mons in doubles, so it also can setup a sweep under your opponent's own trick room if your opponent doesn't answer it immediately.
@@elblogdelfeno It *has* to be a ridiculous buff or else what's the point? +10 SPD won't change anything at all when it's so bad it's non-tiered. It needs 95 to 105 SPD (at the cost of Sp Atk) to stand any kind of a chance.

I don't get why people love Luxray. It's just forgettable and mediocre, it's design is boring. it's movepool is barren. Even as a kid I didn't like it and just put in the pc because it was underperforming in npc battles and i thought it looked dumb.

Why is Eiscue still base 80 even when it has its ice head on? A Starmie should be extremely slow if you use real starfish logic, so if its Psychic abilities are why it's so fast, it would only be fair if Luxray's Electric abilities are why it's fast.

I still think wild charge should be buffed to 120 power like double edge, brave bird, and flare blitz. Give volt tackle even more power since it is pikachu and raichus special move and those aren't exactly gonna break the meta with a like 150 power move

Gen 4 Luxray is so painfull to watch: 120 base attack, but your strongest physical stab is spark; Intimidate, but no bulk to speak of; One of the coolest designs ever, and a base speed stab of 70 just to make sure you know Gamefreak f*cking hates you.
You should have seen how upset I was when Slaking didn't get a hidden ability in gen 5. Or when they literally never released shadow tag Chandelure. Its hidden ability was changed and it never saw competitive play.
Daniel-Olivier Pepin Spark and Thunder Fang actually has the same base power (65). Thunder Fang just has both a paralysis and flinch chance as opposed to Spark’s paralysis only chance. It does come at the cost of 5% accuracy though

am i the only one who first thought luxray was introduced as a counterpart to ampharos from gen 2? both are 3-stage electric types that you can catch early in their respective games and when i thought about it more luxray striked me as some kind of wolf-like predator while (regular) ampharos is essentially a sheep without wool. idk, i thought it would've been cool.

@@mooseears9849 Without good stats, Mega Rayquaza is worse than Luxray too. Fact is, Wobbuffet has shadow tag, and combined with everything else Wobbuffet turns out being really good at its job. You can't just ignore part of its toolkit when you're analyzing a pokemon.
when luxray is one of your favorite pokemon and the video is only 9:33 long. Jokes aside even myself don’t use him that often in battle but in dppt playthroughs it will always be a member on my team, along with staraptor and garchomp. It just has a special place in my heart. When I first show Luxray's sprite, I thought that it would be a very fast pokemon but it got outsped by so many pokemon of npc's. I was really disappointed and never used Luxray after my first run. It is so slow for a cat.

I got so pissed at how bad Luxray is despite looking so cool that i tried to make it work as much as possible. The closest thing to "decent" was a Z-Electric Terrain sweeper set...which still sucked so really it was "least bad", more so than anything truly positive.

New Ability:Strong Jaw
New Moves: Close Combat,Psychic Fangs
Stat Changes: Switch it's Special Attack with it's speed but also give it's speed a +10 buff. Making it 105 speed.
If Luxray gets these changes it will basically destroy almost every common Pokemon in Gen 8.
Luxray, AKA the literal embodiment of “Stop! Stop! It’s already dead!”.

I might be very, very, biased but I think Luxray should have a BST of 600. I'm saying that Luxray should be a pseudo legendary. When was the last time we had a good physical attacker that WASN'T legendary? However, the stat spread between Speed, Def, and SpD would be difficult, and I think Luxray should have a speed stat of over 100. I might be biased towards luxray, but it deserves better!

Unfortunately, Volt Tackle is exclusive to the Pichu line, Bolt Strike is exclusive to Zekrom, and Plasma Fist is exclusive to Zeraora. There would need to be a new 100+ base power electric move that most electric types can learn.
Here's a suggestion make more pokemon learn volt tackle for physical electric types at the very least sure it has recoil but it better than fricken wild charge by a lot

Luxray being pure electric breaks this design language in the context of Pokémon. It’s why many wonder why Grapploct isn’t a water type despite being a blue sea creature looking Pokémon.
Let’s just say that Morpeko stole Luxray’s Dark typing.

But imo, its a trade off because Luxrays mono electric sucks already Dark gives him a 2nd stab and at least some sort of switch ins. Mono typing just isnt that good, look at Electivire.
If something sucks, it's always the good looking pokemon. It hurts to see my favorites wound up like this.

Give this Lynx a mega. Add a Dark type, Strong Jaw for an ability to crank up the power of it's fang moves and provide it excellent coverage, then 45 additional points in speed to outrun about 80% of the metagame.
Throw in an extra 20 attack, 10 to each of the defenses, 15 to special attack.
Intimidate pre-mega would give it some extra physical bulk too. Instant OU staple.

It's unforgivable that they completely left Luxray in the dust like that. If it has such low Speed, at least give it 100 Defense and Sp. Defense.

I've been hoping for years that it could minimally get a pretty large speed boost(20+), seeing as it's a cat-like electric pokemon, but apparently not. I've even thought they could maybe create an ability that would allow it and select other pokemon to resist ground/rock type moves(or at least make them normally effective), but yet again, gamefreak isn't that kind.

In Renegade Platinum, they made a few changes to Luxray which made it a little better imo.
They gave it Guts in gen 4, for one, as well as gave it dark typing. Being weak to fighting and bug seems not so good, but having STAB on Crunch is nice. They also added a bunch of useful moves to its kit, like Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse and Wild Charge.
I realize it got a lot of this stuff later on anyway, but if it had them in gen 4 it might have had a chance. Further buffs, at least to its speed later on, might have given it some hope.
I think its time FSG started talking about ZU in Gen 7. If you don't know, ZU stands for Zero Used, its a non-official tier that was made in Gen 7 for all the pokemon that ended up untiered(since by Gen 7 we had enough of them that many people felt we could make a new tier).
I think it ought to wait until the tier's actually official.

Give it a mega that's Electric/Dark and boost its speed from 70 to 120, raise both defenses from 79 to 89 and put the remaining points in attack raising it from 120 to 150 and that'd make mega luxray pretty damn good. As for an ability id say either Strong Jaw or Sheer Force but Sheer Force might be a bit too op
Fire, Ice and Electric really need new moves that would be the physical equivalent to Flamethrower, Ice Beam and Thunderbolt. 90-95 BP with 100% accuracy and widely availible in the form of TMs.

Honestly, "slow and frail" is a death sentence in and of itself unless it has some exceptional redeeming factor. Doesn't matter what its attacking stats are like, being slow and frail is a great way to faint without doing anything except using up 1 of an opponent's PP.
They increase his speed and reduce his special attack by 35 points , give it the dark type to boost his many dark types moves and give it Strong Jaw.
Make it learn Rough Play to deal with Fighting types, Super Power for coverage and better physical electric moves like Zing Zap and Zippy Zap. Aura Wheel would also be useful seeing as it can become both Dark and Electric.
@@M4x_P0w3r Aura Wheel changes type due to specifically Morpeko's ability. If anyone else were to have this move, it would probably be permanently an Electric move, but it would still be very helpful.

That's crazy something with Lux's stats even started where it did, let alone ended up. I generally think of 80's across the board as decent bulk, surprised to hear how little it could stand up to.
Well, at least it had a really good entry in the TCG being one of the most dominant Mons in the Platinum era, so that's something I guess.
Luxray has a number of problems not just bad stats.
Bad typing, average Movepool , slow, weak, frail, predictable, average abilities. And worst of everything tough competitive with better Electric types

I know Luxray isn’t widely used but he’s still one of my very favourite Gen IV Pokémon! I’ll never forget catching that adorable little blue-faced cub back in Diamond for the first time and raising it into a big blue/black and yellow badass that sent Team Plasma packing!

Mjölnir: Electric Type's version of Crab Hammer.
Lightning Strike: Electric Type's version of Head Smash.
Thundercrash: Electric Type's version of Hi Jump Kick.
Cable Wire: Electric Type's version of Vine Whip.
Power Line: Electric Type's version of Power Whip.
Lightning Speed: Electric Type's version of Extreme Speed.
Or better yet... remove recoil from Wild Charge and replace it with 10% paralysis just like Thunderbolt and make Volt Tackle, Zing Zap more available to other pokemon because they have no reason to be signatures.

It's not like this doesn't make any sense, and all these fast pokemon shouldn't be as fast as Ludicolo, Tentacool or Cloyster.

Amethyst Maelstorm No, Pokémon tiers are based on usage. Usage can be influenced by opinions, but it’s a fairly decent system for evaluating how good a mon is competitively.
A slow electric type that was a mixed attacker, OOF.
He was never the greatest in competitive, but he was a good carry in gen 4's story mode. Like that one Pokemon in your party that's several levels higher than the others and is always first in your party.
Gen 4 was home to so so so many poorly designed Pokémon from a gameplay/stat perspective honestly. I feel like it wasn’t until at least Gen 5 that Gamefreak figured out how to properly design that sort of stuff and everything before was either basic as hell (legendaries etc) or a fluke. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Sword/Shield’s designs, from a Gameplay/stat perspective, almost every Pokémon in it are so well designed with a goal in mind for what they can do and what their moveset should look like. Even something like Morpeko can be deadly man.
And that's what it's meant for, not competitive, just like its Johto counterpart Ampharos.
Even in Gen IVs story move, I preferred other Electric-types like Raichu and Magnezone. Luxray proves why looking cool is worthless.
No that was bronzong for sinnoh carry due to the lack of fire types and fire moves. Luxray died way too often to get over the average level of the party unless you babied it.
ultimate Recoil Luxray ended up my second highest level pre elite four due to all the water trainers
I'd buff Luxray in 2 ways
1: Either give it +20 speed, or -20 speed and +10HP. The latter would allow it to work in trick room. The former could make choice scarf sets ok
2: Give it extreeme speed. Lux means illumination, as in light. Shouldn't it be able to go fast when it wants?
Swap the Atk Spe with Speed. And yeah give him extreme speed
My proposed buffs are these:
Give him a better stat spread (80/120/89/75/79/88)
Give him a move like Extreme Speed, like you just said
And to benefit all Physical-attacking Electric Types, make a widespread 90/95 BP Move (for example, I created a widespread Physical Electric move for a region I'm developing. It's called Lightning Break)
Definitely one of my favorite Pokémon. It's one of the few that really feels plausible as an animal yet does not look like any obvious real animal.

It's kinda Pokémon's thing, making the designs as simple as possible. Luxray is a lynx lion hybrid, and cats tend to be Dark or Normal type in Pokémon. Dark type would suit Luxray.

No Good Physical Moves for a Physical attacker, classic GameFreak design. Like why does Wild Charge only have a base power of 90 when Flare Blitz has 120 and is basically the same move besides the typing.
GameFreak please, give Volt Tackle to mons other than the Pikachu line. Hell give Electivire Plasma Fists, Close Combat and the Fighting type.
I would've just given electivire iron fists and mach punch instead but alright. Actually I would do the same to luxray give it strong jaw, all the biting moves, and a dark type for suckerpunch

Its shocking how close a lot of these pokemon were to being decent, like imagine if luxray had pitiful special attack and amazing speed to go with its physical attack, I'm not saying it wouldve been a competitive staple but it could hardly have hurt the pokemon
a simple 90+ speed base Luxray would be *leagues* over how it currently is. 70 base speed is just that terrible

@Mahin Immadisetti I mean, Electric doesn't really do anything for him defensively and offensively it's a rather subpar typing. Dark is at least heavily physical oriented, gives an extra inmunity and more resists and has another STAB that he can use. And most other types don't really make sense for him, I don't see him getting a useless Normal typing and he doesn't look Ghost or Steel.
Just switch it's speed and sp attack stat and give it a dark secondary typing. Would be decent in RU.

For anyone wondering about niche uses for Luxray, it actually does quite well as a surprise trick room counter due to low speed and intimidate. You can slap room service on it with thief and punish an opponent for trying to setup on you. Whats nice is gen 9 buffed howl to make it buff both ur mons in doubles, so it also can setup a sweep under your opponent's own trick room if your opponent doesn't answer it immediately.
I swear, if Megas ever make a comeback, and I truly hope they do, this boy really, really better get one
How to fix Luxray:
-30 Special Attack
+30 Speed
+Dark type for crunch stab
30 speed is such a ridiculous buff though, they'll never do that.
-10 sp atk, +10 atk, +10 spd I could see

@@elblogdelfeno It *has* to be a ridiculous buff or else what's the point? +10 SPD won't change anything at all when it's so bad it's non-tiered. It needs 95 to 105 SPD (at the cost of Sp Atk) to stand any kind of a chance.
@@Alex-nr4xb they will never do such a massive stat boost that would change what the Pokemon is. Small boosts on the other hand have been done plenty of times.

Luxray is at best a glass cannon can dish out alot of damage but at the cost of easier being taken out. defenses needed to be at least 90 or 95

I don't get why people love Luxray. It's just forgettable and mediocre, it's design is boring. it's movepool is barren. Even as a kid I didn't like it and just put in the pc because it was underperforming in npc battles and i thought it looked dumb.

Why is Eiscue still base 80 even when it has its ice head on? A Starmie should be extremely slow if you use real starfish logic, so if its Psychic abilities are why it's so fast, it would only be fair if Luxray's Electric abilities are why it's fast.
@@captain_buggles its also slower than Tsareena (just slightly like Drednaw), Tyrantrum (same deal), Blaziken, Gardevoir, Gallade,.Mamoswine, Magmortar, Rillaboom, Nidoking, Kommo-o, Heracross, Duraludon, Krookodile, Electivire, Haxorus and Scolipede (and that last one has Speed Boost on top)

I still think wild charge should be buffed to 120 power like double edge, brave bird, and flare blitz. Give volt tackle even more power since it is pikachu and raichus special move and those aren't exactly gonna break the meta with a like 150 power move

You should have seen how upset I was when Slaking didn't get a hidden ability in gen 5. Or when they literally never released shadow tag Chandelure. Its hidden ability was changed and it never saw competitive play.
Daniel-Olivier Pepin Spark and Thunder Fang actually has the same base power (65). Thunder Fang just has both a paralysis and flinch chance as opposed to Spark’s paralysis only chance. It does come at the cost of 5% accuracy though

am i the only one who first thought luxray was introduced as a counterpart to ampharos from gen 2?
both are 3-stage electric types that you can catch early in their respective games and when i thought about it more luxray striked me as some kind of wolf-like predator while (regular) ampharos is essentially a sheep without wool. idk, i thought it would've been cool.
That's actually pretty interesting, iirc there's not too many 3 stage, early game electric mons.
And they're both slow heavy-hitters designed for story runs of their home Regions, not competitive.

Atk and dark typing wouldn't make it better because now dark isn't that good too many fairy types and fighting types and it'll need 3 moves for coverage for fairy and fighting and bug like that's more than ice types and priority Mach punch can wipe the floor with Luxray and electric has nothing to cover for dark type and dark type has nothing to cover for electric type so it's not a good typing match up even though the stab crunch is good defensively it's not that good but tbh thinking about it Luxray is just an offensive pokemon it's defenses are already bad so sure it can be dark if it's stall pokemon dark and electric aren't that good together but not the worse

Just to think that someone at Game Freak went out of their way to set its defenses to 79 instead of 80 like “nah it’s strong enough like that !”.
Luxray, Electivire and Zebstrika show just how desperately electric types need a widely distributable, 90-100+ BP, 85-100 physical electric move WITHOUT recoil.
I really hope Sinnoh remakes has new mega evolutions and Luxray is apart of that

@@mooseears9849 Without good stats, Mega Rayquaza is worse than Luxray too. Fact is, Wobbuffet has shadow tag, and combined with everything else Wobbuffet turns out being really good at its job. You can't just ignore part of its toolkit when you're analyzing a pokemon.

when luxray is one of your favorite pokemon and the video is only 9:33 long. Jokes aside even myself don’t use him that often in battle but in dppt playthroughs it will always be a member on my team, along with staraptor and garchomp. It just has a special place in my heart. Really hope it get some buffs in the future!
