How much do you charge for rock and landscape material deliveries? Do you have customers pre pay for the material or do you pay for it and add it to the bill?
I can’t speak for DOT but if you are doing using a vehicle to make a profit you need commercial insurance. If you put it on your regular insurance and have a wreck your insurance is going to investigate you and if they determine you were were doing business they will not pay your claim and will probably drop you. To me it’s not worth the risk.
Has anyone ever tried using an equalizer hitch like you use for pulling a RV? It would distribute your weight evenly on truck and trailer. Great video!
We had one for an RV that we were using to pull with my dads F150, but I don't think those are needed unless you have a smaller 1/4 ton truck or something.
We offer per item. $65 fridge. $55 mattress. And $55 box spring. We currently use a 6.5x12 with 5' walls. $250 for 1/2 trailer just a little over 7 yards. And $375 for full. 1/2 trailer load is 1/2 ton max. And full is 1 ton max.
Hi Josh, I about to purchase a dump trailer this week. Knowing the business for this much now, would you purchase the 7x14x3 or 7x16x3? I like the 14ft to purchase and would probably do the 16fter after business picks up. Thanks and subbed, liked, and notification bell on! Thanks for all your great advice!
Whats up Brian! Congrats on the leap to jump in the business. Honestly I would go with the 16 footer, only because, if you have someone who wants a larger one, then you have it. If you have someone who wants a smaller one, well you can send the larger one anyways and it won't cost you anything and you won't turn a customer away. The price difference (depending on what manufacturer) isn't that much, but the greater opportunity on jobs will imo. This is just my opinion though. Also, it depends on your driving ability. 2' isn't that much until you are backing it up in a short driveway or alley. If you are new to pulling trailers, the shorter the better, otherwise I would go for the bigger one. Best of luck!
I like the channel and look forward to seeing more. I got on your face book page and subscribed to the channel. I would like more info on the tracker you use. I have been looking for on for my trailers. Take care.
Our dump fees are $10 a yard in Florida, they go by the size of the trailer, my trailer cost me to dump a minimum of $250 to dump if its halfway are full, I make sure its completely full😁
We have a place locally that charges by the yard too, makes no sense to me yet but from what I gather, it would cost me about $150 plus for one trailer full, no thanks!!
FYI! The longer the trailer, the easier to backup. The difference would be how much space you need to park it. But it backs better the longer the trailer.
@@michaelsfabwork2985 Yikes!... Which landfill or what area of Houston are you referring to?? I'll be sure to NEVER go there. All landfills/transfer stations in Houston definitely don't charge those ridiculous prices.
@@MisterUnpredictable I’m south of Houston. Waste management on 1764 is supper hi and there is another that I want go to on Hwy 6 in Alvin they are supper hi. They are with in 5 miles in my area. The on I do go to is hills on Dixi farm road and they say 11 dollars a yard but they usually are cheaper then that but that is construction debri only no food garbage. The other two I talked about you can take food garbage. I’m south of down town Houston
What rock quarry do you use?
I’ve been to Big City Crushed Concrete a few times.
Can we start with a half ton??
so if you needed 5 tons of rock, you were short 980 lbs. do you go back for the additional rock?
No the backhoe operator estimates it by the bucket, usually closer than that but not always a scientific process apparently.
Song????
You want me to sing? haha
Is your 2500 gas or diesel?
Gas, Hemi
What section do you advertise on Craigslist under services
Hauling
How much do you charge for rock and landscape material deliveries? Do you have customers pre pay for the material or do you pay for it and add it to the bill?
I charge $200 locally, $250 if I have to travel a little farther than normal, including the rock which is about $50 give or take for 5 tons.
Where do you buy materials? I googled some places and they charge around 50$/ton
60 second question. Interested in finding out if DOT pulls you over Is Commercial auto insurance required for this business?
Depends on the state I believe

Great video man. How man hours a week do you average doing this?
Depends, so far I would estimate about 10-16 hours max.

Same in my area of Houston Texas. That is for construction debris for house hold trash it is more. It is hard to charge more to make a profit.
