    THIS IS THE MINUTE WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR! It’s so cool seeing all of the steps to get here. Starting small on the fender work, getting your bodywork and welding down. Body work on the van, more steps on the bike. It all fits together. Keep up the great work mate!

  • @davehull9142
    @davehull9142 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    It would have been miles easier to just cut it off at the pillars, then cut the pillars on the donor roof the same and drop it on. You could have easily welded it too because its really strong steel there.

    • @DanChambersDAC
      @DanChambersDAC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      😂 you having a laugh? Cutting structural parts of the shell away and having to make sure 4 window opening & 2 door openings are the right shape is easier than just fitting a new skin?

    • @davehull9142
      @davehull9142 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DanChambersDAC Yes, I have done this very same thing 3 times. Take your time measuring and marking the cuts in the right place and you can have the roof swapped in a couple of hours.
      I also cut some small bits of flat bar and plug welded them into the pillars on the car so they stick out 30-40mm or so. They then act as a guide for dropping the roof back on.
