i am a freshman in college that is majoring in a BFA for art education and watching this video has helped me MAJORLY in what grade levels i’d be interested in. you remind me a lot of my previous highschool art teacher which is the one who inspired me to go to school to be one. This is an AWESOME video!!
You already know I told you, you were my inspiration of becoming an Art teacher & now that I finally am, I wish I could’ve been doing this my whole life! So thankful for your videos ❤️
I'm just starting subbing to see if I want to do a career change into teaching and was wondering about the different grades - this was so helpful! Thanks!
I’m a High school art teacher in Newfoundland Canada! I absolutely love high school. I love the students, the connections, the curriculum! I’ll be here until I retire for sure!
I appreciate how much detail you give in this video. I'm going into my third year of teaching. I started with 7th grade English, went to high school art, and I'm thinking about elementary art. Still trying to find where I belong in the teaching world. Thanks for this information!
First of all, I have never seen a 30 minutes video in TH-cam that has been really informative. You did helped me to choose. As for now, I am a Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant) in a Elementary School (K-5) in Orlando, Florida. This year has been so frustrating with the COVID, Zoom, and teachers always been out, me being a Sub for almost two months straight, and not being able to do my real job because I do give interventions which I love teaching and the kids love it. I was thinking transferring to High School for Fall, however my school will have big changes so I will wait for 2022-2023 and give my school an opportunity. I’m excited to start a new year and excited for this school year to end. Middle schoolers.... my brother is a middle schooler is too goofy, i haven’t even though of them 😅 They’re goofy with everything now days.... Soo that’s a no for me 😂 Thanks for having the time to talk to us about your experience! I subscribe and liked the video! 😁
I'm a junior illustration major and next year I'll be going part time and I have a teaching job lined up (my state doesn't require a teaching cert or degree for teachers in religious schools) and I'm very excited, but I'll be teaching K-12 and sharing the classes with another teacher so I'm looking forward at juggling all the different skill levels
I am watching this video. I taught elementary school for 23 years. Now I am substituting high school. I am starting to love high school. Middle school, I still have reserves 😅lol
I have to say that you did an excellent job helping your viewers understand the differences between grades. I have to say I am more able to make a better decision in which grade I should teach.
High school Spanish teacher in my 18th year! Im getting ready to transition to elementary ESL. Im looking to make a difference in their language proficiency at an early age. So sad for those 12th graders who cant identify elementary sight words! We shall see how elementary goes. I may decide to go back to high schoolers in a year. But i have the opportunity, so Im gonna go for it.
Love this! I'm a semester away from getting my Master's in Library Science and I'll be certified K-12. My student teaching will all be in one high school (Covid restricted us to just 1 placement) and I really wanted high school. This video helped! I think high school is the right spot for me (but like you said, we'll see where I can get a job! 😅)
For 22 years I have taught K-8th in art and music in private schools and now I'm going to an all girls high school private school in art. I have never taught high school before. This should be interesting.
I have been an ESL teacher for 3 years. Sadly I have found that it is not my passion. I have however been thinking about teaching Art. And then poof your channel!! How do I became an Art teacher? Transitioning from teaching ESL.
I would adore teaching elementary art and even middle school. But high school would be a big no unless it was the high school my husband attended which was all about and for the Art's I'd totally work for that school because those students are actually serious about art and like theater.
Being an art teacher seems fun, calm and stable. I have an interest in seeing myself being with kids in elementary. It makes me kind of nervous. You speak in a native English. I am more farer than you. English is my second language. And I feel uncomfortable in the different cultures of very American kids and colleges environments. I am from China. Do you think that art teacher will not be suitable for me if my English is not good and I am from a different country. Thank you!
You can do it especially at private schools. English is my second language as well and i just got a job without a degree in Education. I have a degree in Media and took some art classes.

High School Art Teacher of 11 years here! I’m so excited to find other fellow art teachers on TH-cam! Subscribed ❤️

I have 18 years teaching high school and am about to transition to teach elementary students. I have elementary aged children, so that may help.
I have to say that you did an excellent job helping your viewers understand the differences between grades. I have to say I am more able to make a better decision in which grade I should teach.
Glad it was helpful!
Have you ever had a medium/technique in your curriculum that you had never practiced with before? How did you cope with that?
You are so encouraging. I am going to take the grade that presents itself to me, I keep thinking 1st - 3rd, but I will be open to other grades. 💗

How do you address a class with a large variety of personality styles?

Hi This is a great resource! Are you posting any of your high school art lessons?
I would adore teaching elementary art and even middle school. But high school would be a big no unless it was the high school my husband attended which was all about and for the Art's I'd totally work for that school because those students are actually serious about art and like theater.
I teach k-12 Art in a rural school. I have for 15 years and love it! I could never decide on one grade : )
I'm a first year prek-12 art teacher at a rural school!
I love my rural school! ❤️
I will start my job for the same age range and I don’t know much.
Teaching art at small school. 1st grade - 8th grade. I am not satisfied with pay and hrs. What about others?
Oh my gosh yes! Elementary is oddly competitive. It's so odd.
You noticed too? So weird!

I’m not sure it would depend where you got a job ? Do you have a degree in art education? Or education? I wouldn’t call it calm though 😬😬
