As an education major who has nearly quit 300x and actually quit once but decided to come back, the reason I quit and almost quit so many times is because of the overwhelming amount of teachers posting fully negative day in the life videos. I had an opportunity to teach a small class and realized once and for all teaching is my passion and won’t let negative comments from others influence my decision anymore.

@@MoonsoupsteinI’m in my second year of college to be a Kinder teacher, but work in schools, and I will say that certain schools can be very influential on whether or not you love teaching too. Very supportive schools tend to retain good staff ❤

That was very interesting , thank you! I taught life science in South Africa for 33 years and we don’t start with the triplet code and amino acids until almost the end of high school. So I was interested to see how early you start with that - I think your way is better, but there are a bunch of reasons we are rather slow.
I find this so interesting as your school day is so different in structure to ours here in the UK. We start at 9am and finish at 3:20pm if it's 11 years + or 3pm if it's 5-10 years old :)

I'm currently interested in the profession of being a teacher. Watching your video, I felt that living by finding a job you love is cool! You became a science teacher because you enjoy teaching science, and I could feel through the video that you currently love and cherish your job. Hello fellow special ed high school teacher here😊 and behaviors wouldn’t be as bad if school systems actually held students and parents accountable. I completely agree that in some circumstances positive reinforcement is best but honestly students that do not have discipline do not believe they have to respect anyone. That’s just my take on things. But apart from kids being jerks I love teaching so don’t let the negativity stop you. Honestly, you’re going to have rough moments as a teacher and I wished I knew about the hard moments while I was in college.
Yes, it can be. It depends on so many factors though- family involvement, type of admin (super all the way down), your teaching and behavior management style, your relationship with families, etc etc.
I teach secondary, teaching can be the absolute best job in the world or one of the worst, I’ve experienced both! If you find your fit and a place where you’re supported by other teachers, admin, and families it’s really an amazing career. It will always have its ups and downs at any school but being a part of students lives is a feeling that I don’t think will ever be matched ☺️

What's your issue? Aren't you a grown man watching a young womans vlogs? I see nothing wrong with it considering teachers are kind of in demand (at least in my state), so this is a amazing way to look into this job.
