Kuvira was giving me Azula vibes, especially with her talking to the bandits on the train tracks.
I just realized something. Korra takes place 70 years later after the original series. She was 17 when she came to Republic City and 18 years old during season 2 and 3. Then the three year time skip happen and she's 21 years old now. So that mean it's been 73 years since then. Sozin's comet appears once every 100 years right so that means there's 27 years left before it returns. So Korra being 21 plus the 27 years later, means she will be 48 years old by then! Imagine how powerful she will be since her go to element is fire 🔥🔥

You guys already saw what happened to her. She was kidnapped, tortured, traumatized, poisoned, and crippled as a teenager. The theme of this book is ‘balance.’ Her whole life, Korra has used her brute strength and bending prowess to power her way through her enemies and problems. Now, she’s left with nothing but herself, and she has to learn to reconcile that disparity as the earth kingdom grapples with the balance between unity and freedom. Looking forward to your guys reactions, lots of grey areas and blurred lines in this one

Korra is still struggling with a lot of mental trauma from her battle with Zaheer. She is an extremely powerful character and not to be underestimated. As someone who struggles with mental issues myself it's quite inspiring seeing someone in this medium dealing with an ever-changing world and trying to keep themselves together all at the same time. It takes a person of unmatched strength to power through and live day after day. Just keep watching... her struggles are tough to bare at first but they are worth it for the reward to her character in the end.
Agreed. Korra went through more even than Aang did in person (though he also had the trauma of waking up to find his people exterminated). The little kid with so much confidence has been beaten down each season. Losing her bending season 1. Losing her ties to her past lives in season 2. And severe poisoning and near death in season 3. This show realistically shows the impact of childhood trauma.
And then the two people who help her through the most are surprising and good to see.
Just thought you guys know, you need to turn off the subtitles for episode 2. They'll spoil something for you at the end.

Kuvira, Zaheer and Korra are my favorite characters in this series.
I support all three for the most part.
I'd actually say Kuvira was the most boring, underdeveloped of all Avatar villains. Even Vaatu was better, and that ended with a silly l4z0r battle between mono-""good vs evil".
@@masansr 100000% true. Its such a shame since all vilians in Kora start super well but end up being bad, exept Zaheer since he stayed true to himself and gave is a good ending.

Book 4 may not quite entirely keep up to the masterpiece that was Book 3, but it does more for Korra's character development than all other seasons combined. Bringing back an all star cast from the past and wrapping up story threads, it's a worthy final arc - even if it does suffer from power creep a bit...

I love how you can see that Mako,Asami and Bolin have matured physically after the 3 years. You can just see it in their face, they did a great job with that. Especially with Kai and the kids

Korra spent like a year getting bodied repeatedly. Zaheer hurt her so bad he put her in a wheelchair. That wasn't just broken bones, that was damage to her nerves and muscles. Hell, remember how right before she slipped into Avatar State she started hallucinating? Her body and brain were being so badly hit that they were starting to shut down, Avatar State was the only thing that kept her going. Which, of course, was part of Zaheer's plan. On the off chance something happened that prevented the Red Lotus from finisher her off (like that massive power boost from Avatar State), the poison would most likely kill her anyway.
So, yeah, after 3 years of rehab, Korra is obviously not back to 100%. That cocky girl from the start of Season 1 is gone, she's been beat down too many times. Told you guys she got hurt bad, I don't quite think it fully hit you just how bad until you saw this episode. Girl got f'd up. Not just physically, either, her head isn't in the game, she's still coping with feeling powerless after a year of rapidly escalating body-ings.

Kora got beaten down only one time tho, every other time she just spend an episode depresed and then went and beated the enemy whit brute force. So the curent problem is just from last season.
And that's just season 3, which happens shortly after season 2 when Korra spent most of her time getting bodied by Spirits.
@@stefankatsarov5806 only one time? Equalist Chi blockers, her and Mako both got taken down, Naga saved them. Avatar Aang Island, Korra was captured by Equalists and only got away because Amon knocked her out and walked away. Councilman Tarrlok bloodbent her and knocked her cold, her escape was facilitated by Equalists getting cocky. After she escaped from Tarrlok's custody she was in no condition to do anything, and had to be rescued again. Amon defeated her in 1-on-1 combat and robbed her of her ability to bend 3 out of 4 elements... That was all season 1.
@Lee Brown Korra only lost when she was caught off guard? She knew Amon was right there when the fight that ended with her losing her bending started. What about the fight with Unalaq? Again, she went into that fight knowing what he was trying to do, and she got Raava ripped right out of her.
And on top of all of that, prepared or not, getting bodied is still getting bodied.

@@leonelmendoza871 In order for it to be truly united, the citizens have to agree to it - they have to WANT it. It's much less feasible to maintain an empire wherein most of its people believe they have been unjustly conquered and enslaved. That is why the vast majority regions MUST submit to Kuvira willingly. And they did. It's only a few leaders like the Governor of Yi who disliked Kuvira personally, his people on the other hand were absolutely BRIMMING with respect for Kuvira.

The next episode is probably my favorite of the whole series. It solidifies Korra as one of my favorite characters in fiction.

Too bad she looked weaker than Toph or thatn last season's earth bender for that maner ( and not just because lava ).
@@stefankatsarov5806 idk when it was looking weaker cause Kuvira was standing her ground vs Korra (finale) or prior to that she had shown quite a lot of feats. Toph had like 40 episodes to shine yet I would say Kuvira's feats are more impressive (mainly metalbending)

She fought alone many adversaries at the same time, clearly mastered metal bending enough to even add magnetism to how it work - as seen in this episode -, and to win a one on one fight against Su; which is considered to be the best metal bender since Toph. She wrecked the avatar in a fight, then procceded to fought her at her best and not loose... She clearly is a formidable adversary.
Even the way she bend is a call back to Iroh. She dosen't earthbend like most of earthbenders, which follows the solid stance and big / slow movements, but use various fast executed movements; and a minimal amount of earth, to attack with rapidity and precision. She clearly took that from other bendings.
I don't know if she was as strong as Toph in her prime, but she definitely is shown to be a prodigy, and could probably have rivaled her.

Hey guys, glad to see you jumping into season 4! Probably my favorite season overall. Just a heads up, feel free to skip the episode "Rememberance", it's just a clip show episode that doesn't really further anything. Other than that, this season is pure gas!

And so enters The Great Uniter, Kuvira. Probably my favourite villain of the entire ATLA/LOK franchise.
22:42 what happens when you get beaten both physically and mentally by an air bender who believes in natural order by killing leaders like the Avatar? A broken shell of the former self you once was with no idea as to how to fix it or how to move forward. That’s Korra for you. In the sn 3 finale when she shed a tear, she was sad that she had to be on the sidelines and also the idea that she wasn’t as invincible as she thought since sn 1. Don’t get me wrong, Amon and Unaloq were deadly in their own ways and beat Korra but in those times, someone was there to get her back on her feet after; Aang after she lost her bending in sn 1 and then Tenzin and Jinora after she got severed from Raava in sn 2. Now this time her greatest challenge is to pick herself up from the ground as no one, not even her own parents can help her heal from the aftermath of Zaheer.

In short Korra has PTSD which is a very real thing that she has to face this season. By the end of season 3 she was BROKEN down to an extremely low point and sometimes when shit like that happens it’s gonna take a long time to recover and you will never be the same.

Dragon Prince! It has some voice actors from atla and one of the main show writers. It starts out fun with some heavy scenes but gets more serious each season like atla did. 27 ep so far, has been renewed for 4 more seasons!
At this point in the plot I would prefer Kuvira over the Wuster any day.

there are 2 reasons why korra is weaker one i wont spoil ... the other is quite logical.... people who go through some really rough stuff can get traumatised by it ... and simular things can trigger it the next episode i advice without subtitle because the subtitles often spoil stuff
