My westie loved the snow, but he was raised in New England so he saw it every winter. Sami looks very stylish!

Sugar loved snow and here in America/Ohio we get a fair amount. She loved rubbing her face and rolling around. Though I hate snow, seeing Sami interact with it made me smile and of course remember Sugar's shenanigans! ❤️🐾

It kills me that Sami doesn't mind his boots! My Westie doesn't even like his harness much less any coat that covers his legs!
We live in Pennsylvania/USA; Zoey loves snow, especially when it's deep enough that she can plow her nose through all the paths Dad digs out for her around the yard: from the front sidewalk to the street, front the front sidewalk all the way around the house, and a few side paths off the path that goes around the house (just for good measure)

They love the snow. Mine loved everything about it, would eat it, dive in it, dig in it, jump in piles of it. They are snow dogs 🥶

They're Scottish dogs they like lousy weather. OUrs goes out in anything. Sadly that usually means she getting a bath afterward. The only issue with snow is if there coats are longer the really wet snow can freeze up in chucks on their legs and weigh them down and cause cold issues.
Haha I love that she is not fussy! When we have to go out in the rain, Sami looks at me like "make it stop." 😂😅 You are right about the long coats causing snow to stick. I like a short coat on Sami (mainly because he pees 1000x a day and if he has a "skirt" he will be smelly 😅)

Our Katie loved water in any form. They had a kids sandbox, a green plastic turtle with a shell lid. She liked to stand on top of it, even in a heavy rain and strong winds--her little Queen of the World pose! Chloe was the opposite, would poke her little nose out, say Nope! and turn around. Our deck was mostly roofed, she would potty there when she couldn't hold it any longer.
How lucky are you. Our Westie, Macfu, would not wear boots or the winter coat we bought for him. He spent the first minute with the first boot trying to rip it off with his teeth. The coat brought forth growls and he did not like to pee when he had it on. Solutions: change the grooming. We let his side and back hair grow beginning in Sept. Snow was ok but it blocked his sniffing and some was too deep so jumping into it had him sinking up to his tummy. After that he stayed on the paths. All was copacetic until the temperature dropped to minus 13 degrees. As soon as his paws became cold we came in. Our outings only lasted about 5 minutes. He was one fuzzy Westie by the time late March came for the summer grooming. What procedures must you go through to take him to Europe? P.S. Macfu turned 12 in April.
Not all dogs tolerate the boots and clothes. That's ok 😊🤍 I think you found some great solutions to keep Macfu warm and safe from the cold!
Happy 12!! 🎂🥰 To take him to Europe you need to: find a pet friendly airline and see what their weight limit is to fly in the cabin (usually it's 8kg), get a an airline approved carrier bag and check with the airline to see what is the recommended size. And lastly, ask the airline if you can travel with just the health certificate (in Europe we use pet passports, but you don't have them in the USA, which I am assuming you are from but I might be wrong?) or so they need any other document?
And get Macfu used to being the carrier bag in the weeks before the flight, to help him feel more comfortable 😊 That's it!

We lost our Westie Winston Bentley McNabb he was 15.5 we have been married 30 years that’s Half our married life. He was the best dog I have ever had I am 76 and have CLL my wife is 77. He was a member of our family I am CRUSHED. We will not get another one we are too old. When I die if there is a God I want to see Winston first. Kiss Sammie on the forehead for me .
