You should seriously talk about the work it is to have a Samoyed. They sure are cute, but the amount of shedding is just incredible. People don't understand how much work these dogs are. They're adorable, but but having one Samoyed is the same shedding you'd get out of, say, 4 Golden retrievers. These dogs are a lot of work.

I've loved samoyeds since I was 6 years old. That was back in 1994; I was visiting a rural holiday resort for Christmas with my parents, and a couple in the next cabin over had a samoyed. That dog and I became almost inseparable for the holidays - he would wrestle with me in the snow for hours, then suddenly just stop and look at me to check I was OK, and then resume wrestling. He'd also follow us into our cabin and eat all our frankfurters. Then during the last day, when my mom and I went for a sleigh ride, the samoyed ran after the sleigh and barked the whole trip. It's been almost 30 years and all three of us still remember that dog fondly... he wasn't even ours and we loved him.
I've been dreaming of getting a samoyed ever since, even the shedding doesn't sound _that_ bad. Samoyeds being hypoallergenic is also great considering I've been allergic for decades.
