6:02 I felt this same thing when doing this race 8 months ago in the 2016 Mercedes. When it was intermediate conditions, the car felt great, I was faster than the 2 Renaults I was racing with. Once it got closer to ful wet conditions, it felt like I was driving on ice and I couldn't say ahead of the Renaults. Once the track dried up a bit back to inter conditions, the car felt good again and I managed to rebound to a 5th or 6th place finish.
I was surprised by the dry line at turn 1, it goes all the way off the circuit on the exit so you can't use it. I can see that being a deathtrap through the week. And of course the guy who does the strategy guide judged the inters perfectly and jumped 10 places!
Yeah I noticed that on turn 1 as well!!Seems PD took the dry line data from pre 2000 Spa 😆 it will catch folk out but I think that scenario we had where going back to slicks was optimal is pretty rare. That early stop and jumping to 1st definitely felt good but just didn't have the confidence in the fast stuff like you and shadow...I looked at your out lap on slicks as well....crazy how fast you through eau rouge with no idea what grip you would have!!! I'm currently laughing at kie getting beat by you and saying your on full wets when your on inters lol
@@wombleleaderracing6455 I was wondering where Kie was today, I didn't realise he had been through a rebranding exercise 😅 I messed up a couple of times with the tyres and going for inters like you would all the time with the old rain physics, now the full wets are worth taking and seemed like they were around 4 seconds a lap quicker when you were getting into the blue bit. It's not really realistic, you drive along looking at the surface water gauge so you know how much grip you'll have at any corner rather than having to figure it out on the fly.
Yeah I would quite like to see the gauge get removed and put it down to feel and also knowing crossovers on laptimes from slicks to inters and vice versa etc. Its nice now to have a reason for full wets
Hey Womble, hope you well mate. Sorry to ask but do you have any idea where Deadeyedelboy is? Haven't seen anything in months from the chap, hope he's OK.
@ the weather was a bit copy and paste - mainly rain ~ lap 5 or dry. But saw two variations (both of which allowed me to get to P1 and P2). One was rain but it took 5 more laps to even show on the meter so you could stay out on mediums longer, beating guys who put wets on earlier or put fresh mediums on thinking it wasn’t going to get very wet. Second was the same but very heavy rain came very quickly late in the race (like lap 15 or 16).
Good stuff Womble. PD, please make these type of longer strategy races a more common occurrence. For example, as a Daily D every 2-3hrs. For those who are not into these type of races and prefer fewer race variables (i.e. 'Sprint' races), Daily C would still be there. Surely, that's a win for everyone?
It does seem that simple doesn't it especially when we know they can run 4 races concurrently with dailys and GTWS....imagine trying to please your player base lol, crazy talk!
Yeah here's a great one time offer for our playerbase....then instantly lock out 99.99% of the playerbase with the prices. Even PD wouldn't make such a stupid decision lol 😆

Brilliant race mate, top result. 100% agree, when its tactical racing, then its openings the race up to more players who are not "super quick"
Appreciated thank you...yeah I love a race where more than just speed is required.
Nicely done

Iv not heard from Del but I know people that have and he's all good and just busy with life and kids as far as I'm aware.
The one week we shouldn’t mind they copied and pasted!
Agreed...no complaints about doi g this race again.
