Yeah I think your right that it will fade massively by Thursday or Friday but its a good little race. If it hadnt decended into a 1 make Lambo race it would have a longer appeal. Yeah who knows why sainte croix is never used you would think given its a unique track you can only race in GT7 plus its awesome they would use there own unique content more often but its PD in nutshell. Even with massive mismanagement GT7 is still the biggest racing game on PS and maybe across all platforms so they see the numbers as success whereas if they managed the game properly they could easily double or triple there numbers and destroy the competition!
To say i'm enjoying this race is a mild understatement I've managed to get my rating up from a high B to almost A+. i've been pitting on the first lap and not changing tyres ........but JUST in the mainly A lobbies i've been in.....i've started 4th, 5th, 6th....even 9th and still managed to win and when i don't i make up places every time. I have been in with the big boys a few times (A+ guys) but that strat doesn't really work as well in those lobbies...... i do feel a bit guilty essentially chickening out of racing folk wheel to wheel and then doing 10 laps on my own........but the standard of driving between those A lobbies and the more A+ ones is staggering. The top boys are really fun to race with, you just feel more relaxed driving against them as they give you space, can see what's happening ahead and have better racecraft.
Thats the thing with strategy. It might work in one lobbies but not so well in another...thats why I laugh when I see people just stick religiously to the same strat race after race after race and dont realise that the best strat can change and depends on how a race is unfolding and who you are racing. Whilst the non tyre change strat is technically slower overall it works against slower drivers because you have a residual speed advantage over them. I certainly would feel bad at avoiding the pack!! Strategy ultimately is about making your race as boring as possible as boring(ie not "racing" other drivers) is quickest!!

That is a option if not changing tyres for sure. All about trying to find that optimal lap where you lose least time....the interesting thing about a race like this with 2 viable stratscand some further flexibility in one of the strats is that the race and circumstances dictate the optimal strategy and it can change from race to race.

Yeah Lambo is pretty meta at the moment because its has straight-line speed, handles well and tbh takes pretty much no skill to drive....no throttle control needed.
They could have given us something a bit different/special for Christmas week. After today I'm off work for the next 10 days so was hoping to get some racing in. Catalunya is one of my least favourite circuits though, so looks like I'll be playing other games.
Yeah would have nice to get something creative/special for Christmas....sadly after 7 years we still hope PD might do more than the bare minimum.each week and unfortunately we remain disappointed. New management and vision at PD would be a great Xmas present.
The quality of the cockpit cam varies massively from car to car and GT7 has no real tools to adjust the view so in some cars it perfectly usable and other nearly useless....in my opinion cockpit view gives the best feeling but its certainly not the quickest.
