It's a fairytale. No hotel OWNER would allow himself to fold in the face of such treatment. Firings would be inevitable, and in some cases instantaneous. Had it been me, my legal team would have been nearby, to witness the firings, for lawsuits I would launch against those who were comitting espionage to my business.
More importantly, MOST high power hotels are consortiums, not 'mom and pop' family run entities. Corporately, HELL would burst forth upon those who behaved in such a way.

Even though this video is about color of skin biases (AKA systemic racism), I can attest that it isn't just color biases...it also includes female biases (and other nationalies). I know...I have been persecuted for being a woman and also of being Hispanic, as well as age discrimination, who has always wanted to move up the ladder within a compamy, but never got very far due to men (mostly, and some women), who wouldn't promote me, or even hire me.
There needs to be some serious consequences for this type of behavior within a company, and or re-training of employees. A possible consequence would be termination if they refuse to comply, or a period of probation if the employee has realized their wrong doing. This is my opinion, and I won't apologize for it.
      Edited for spelling and clarity.

@@sharon8420You are very much misinterpreting what I said. I never said that these things don’t happen, but these are mostly fabricated stories that although they may be based loosely on real events, aren’t actually real stories. They are teaching stories, like parables and fables. You are reaching for something that isn’t here and being somewhat obnoxious about it.

This was not a lesson learned! It says, that racism is acceptable and there’s no repercussions for their actions! I know at least four people should have lost their jobs that day! People shouldn’t have to be “trained” on how to treat Black people! Empathy and respect should come naturally to those in the customer service industry! This makes the Black man appear to be weak and not willing to dismiss the fact that he was discriminated against by employees that he pays! They should have been FIRED!

Actually, Michael was very wise not to fire them all but instead insist on having them exposed to major reforms. Reforms in their approach to the hotel business and possibly a reform of their own beliefs and attitudes! Because apart from this flaw in their characters, they were also useful to the running of the hotel. You can't replace an entire staff overnight.

I am a South African 40 yrs ago I had a experience of racial discrimination. We were not allowed to use White busses or stand at da bus shelter reserved for whites. I remember one incident when I phoned for a job interview they said that vacancy was fulfilled and when I phoned again and pretended to be a white person they asked me to come over. Basically u can not really blame those hotel staff to behave in that manner because it's was or still part of their culture.. It's is duty of da ruling Government to make da changes and religious organizations after all were are all da children of da same almighty God.

I’ve lived all over this nation having been a military family. Each new section of the country we moved to had its own prejudices. It’s not just north/south as most people think. It’s western states to southern or Midwest to other regions, up/down or to the coasts. It’s unique based on where your “accent” labels you.
