+Jack Clamage I'd imagine if one added nav_jump to the nav boxes the bot would automatically jump? Make a string of "jump boxes" and tell the bot to traverse between them maybe that would result in him bhopping? :P I have absolutely no idea if this would work or not, but it makes sense. You might have to remove all other possible routes so it won't choose an 'easier' one.

+Succ honestly this isn't that unbelievably difficult to work with, it just seems rather cryptic at first glance. it's just constructing a navigable maze out of jigsaw pieces for the bots and then labelling them with sensible markers. i've made a few bare-bones maps which bots can for the most part play capably, and navmeshing seems to take more time than the map does, maybe in some large part for the bots' lacklustre ai when trying to test it.
the most impressive part of it is logical thinking, like the ladder solution, and the knowledge of appropriate locations to mark with gameplay markers, such as inspection, avoidable, trick-jump, and sniping spots. other than that, i'll say this man has incredible patience for such a menial yet core part of the game.

Goddammit Valve just cooperate with Sloth, Bez, 3kliks and some of the pros. So much knowledge wasted, so many videos showing problems, so little actual change and balance in the game.

They normally do. For example, 3kliksphilip uploaded a video called "Volvo plz fix" showing a lighting problem with de_cbble, they fixed it soon after.
+sren27 Doesn't the CSGO dev team consist of only 5 people or so? Does Valve not earn hundreds of thousands with skins every month? Why not employ some actual players with knowledge for at least a few weeks to fix their shit?
+BoarhideGaming Valve (from my understanding) pays a portion of what they make to every single person who had a skin inside of the bundle, therefore meaning that valve doesn't make a supreme fuckload of money. It's the same as when you buy a operation, I think a portion of it goes to the map makers. I could be completely wrong on this but it is what I have heard.

I always wondered why, when playing De-dust in source, the bots would normally pass through the double doors leading to B, but as soon as the bomb was planted inB, they would only take the tunnel, making it very easy to line them up in a 'rape train' as a COD player would call it.
U thought it was a complicated system where they would take darker more obscure routes so they could sneak up. Turns out nav mesh. Lol

+Ayer When they are blinded even 1% blinded, teamates and enemies are catagorized as an "unknown" enemy, so they shoot regardless, because if they werent flashed they would always avoid shooting a teamate.

Ayer I've noticed when a bot see's an enemy he charges foward or if he has a bomb, when they have bomb they just run into site.

7:00 I discovered something strange and i urge everyone to try it. I didnt play CS:GO since quite a while and a couple days ago after having returned to my beloved CS:GO i booted up a bot match to get used to the mouse movement speed again and so on. Quickly i developed a strange fascination with bots and startet experimenting with them. I spent way more time than i'm proud ro admit messing around with bots, witnessing selfless acts of self sacrifice, brave acts of bravery and much more, however here's the interresting bit: I tested nuke as a terrorist and all the other bots in my team without exception took precisely that route every single time. Round after round they made the jump and kept walking together across a single invisible path. To me it looks like someone at valve tried to teach them something, didnt playtest properly and now T bots on nuke pretty much only use that one path

Or they could just make the bot camp in spawn until someone dies and takes over. Stop making him buy stupid shit, and drop the bomb if he spawns with it, and also drop his gun that was picked up the previous round. Biggest problem in competitive mode is the bot kills himself in the first 15 seconds of the round. And if he doesn't , when you take over you're armorless but have a galil , or you have a shotgun or a negev.
This would be so easy to implement without bumbling with nav-meshes and AI, yet it would improve the usefulness of the bot in a fair way more than anything else.

+mrkiky The bots aren't meant to be useful, they're meant to be shit so people won't want to kick lesser players so the bot can come in and make things easier. Considering that's happening even now, I'd say keep them as is, but the movement could be improved so they seem somewhat real. :P lol

Pretty sure that's not quite how it works.. If a person who isn't doing very well gets kicked every game, what do you think will happen? Said person will probably just quit the game, which makes sense, why play a game when you're not allowed to play it?
The way you make lesser players better is with constructive criticism and advice, not necessarily nagtive flaming and kicking.

The complex v simple pathing is actually a really useful trick to make an AI prefer a certain route even if both routes are roughly the same distance for custom meshes.
If you have, say, a bunch of boxes spread around a room and want the bots to stay away from them, but still be able to stand on them if they want/need to, putting a ring of small mesh tiles around each box with bigger simple ones everywhere else will make them steer clear of the boxes unless they specifically want to be on the boxes, as the pathing costs more moves.
This greatly helps prevent the "bots running into an object sideways" syndrome without making it so they just straight up can't go onto the boxes.
This is also useful for splitting up the spawns to make the bots more likely to split sites as CT, just stick a line of mesh tiles splitting the spawns in half so that they are more likely to stick with their chosen path, instead of wandering half way there and then deciding that the route they just came from is actually the shortest path to where they want to go.
Of course, there are better ways of making them do specific things, like messing with their actual settings, but I like trying to get them to do things without my direct intervention with their thought processes.

I want bots to be really advanced. so they play by the meta. 2 A 2 B 1 mid. that would be sweet. also adding a new difficulty system, for all ranks. so silver there aims a little off and the don't always hold good positions. then for higher ranks maybe we can get bots to boost each other to spots normally they cannot get to. I love the bots, but I think they lack in the development and people making the meshs for maps. yes It would probably be really expensive or time consuming but you can always extract your bots from one game and put them in another one.

Bots buy different items depending on their names.
Stone will buy shotguns and heavy weapons, while Phoenix will buy rifles.
Bots also never drop or save, they always full/force buy.

You can see how screwed up the Navmesh on nuke is when you play the Nuke Guardian missions in the wildfire campaign. Bots will try to jump onto silo but fail and get damaged by the fall. They are repeating this until theyre dead. Failed that mission twice because the time ran out and the bots didnt show up
