Good day, ma’am Please, I’m about to graduate from the university Bsc Microbiology and I’ve been exploring direct entry choices to Nursing. Do I still need to go for the RN program or can I apply directly to a university? Ok
Here are three options you can consider: 1. Enroll in a diploma program at a university (like Unilag or OAU), which allows you to start nursing from the 200 level. 2. Start your nursing degree directly from 100 level at a university. Going through a School of Nursing to get an RN and then moving on to get a BSc is not the most time-efficient path. 3. This is my top recommendation. If you have the funds, consider pursuing a master's in nursing in the UK, possibly with a scholarship. For example, Manchester Metropolitan University offers a program where you don't need a nursing background to apply.
Hello can i go for DE without my rn license being released even after i passed my council exam, that is going for De immediately after rn that same year is it possible?

Thanks alottt for this wonderful information . But i finished my ND last year with upper credit in health technology in a college of health . I will like to ask if it's possible for me to do direct entry into nursing . Though the course is not well Known yet.
Hi Bukola, I'm glad you find the information helpful. I'm sorry to let you know that it's not possible to have direct entry into nursing with a national diploma in health technology anymore. This could have been possible before, but due to recent changes in the country and within the nursing and midwifery council body, it's now quite challenging. Here's my advice: If you have enough money, consider traveling to the UK to pursue a bachelor/ master's in nursing with your national diploma in health technology. Another option is to attend a school of nursing, as it involves a shorter time commitment, and you'll still have all the credentials someone who attended a university has. I hope this helps.
Hello! Yes, it is possible to pursue a direct entry into nursing, although only a few schools accept applicants from other disciplines. You may want to consider universities such as Babcock University, OOU or, if you're open to it, you can explore options like the School of Nursing (SON).
Yes, you can; however, they also prefer to select candidates who already have their RN license, which invariably means you should have attended nursing school first. Also, I do not believe in impossibilities. If you have the necessary credentials, go for it. I wish you good luck 🥂

Hi I must say you video was so comprehensive and educating But pls I wrote JAMB this year 2024 going fo r nursing in LASU but I scored 178 which is lower But I'm currently trying to explore my options Can what course can I study with NCE to unilag or UI ? Or can they give me nursing How do I also go about the registration because I have already put Lasu as my first choice and I have and used JAMB
At the moment, based on my knowledge, no university accepts students with less than 200 as their JAMB score, aside from private universities. So, if you have the funds, you can try to pursue nursing in a private university. Also, I think your JAMB score should be able to get you into some schools of nursing. First things first, try to find out the school of nursing that is in your state of origin. You can change your institution and pick that school of nursing. Also, you can consider some military schools of nursing. Also, you can go for Jupeb in Unilag. It's not 100 percent certain you might get nursing but if you really prepare hard for the jupeb exam, you should be able to get nursing.
Thanks so much we really appreciate , my question is, I have national diploma in medical laboratory technician upper credit it is possible to gain admission direct entery to nursing ?

Hi! Can I do direct entry to study nursing or medical laboratory science after graduating with an upper class in biology and chemistry from a college of education?
Hello Nessa. For direct entry, having a WAEC certificate alone is not sufficient. You would also need to possess an RN license in order to apply. If you meet both of these requirements, then you should be eligible to proceed.
No. You will start from 200 level if you use the direct entry process. However, if you apply as a normal jamb student that is starting afresh, you will start from 100 level.
It depends on the university you are applying to. Although things have changed in 2024. You need to find out the new policies for different universities. At the moment, my take is if you want to study nursing and you have a degree in another science discipline, try applying for a master's in nursing abroad. It's definitely worth it.
Hi Ayedogba, having 15 points in JUPEB is like having 100%, if I am right. If you have 15 points, you have a good chance of getting admission. So, just relax. You can also go to the school’s admin for further information. Good luck!
