If you've already gained admission to a university for a nursing program, I recommend going for the BSc in Nursing directly. However, if you haven't secured admission yet, you can consider starting at the school of nursing. Then, you can continue your application with the university. When you finally get admitted to the university, you can switch to the BSc Nursing program. This way, you'll avoid staying idle and won't feel overwhelmed while waiting for your university admission. Entering nursing school now is becoming more competitive, so if you've been admitted into the school of nursing, you just need to hold onto it until you secure your desired university program.

It depends on you. Every program has its own advantage and disadvantages. So, I cannot outrightly say one is better than the other. You just have to outweigh the advantages to the disadvantages.

Here are three options you can consider: 1. Enroll in a diploma program at a university (like Unilag or OAU), which allows you to start nursing from the 200 level. 2. Start your nursing degree directly from 100 level at a university. Going through a School of Nursing to get an RN and then moving on to get a BSc is not the most time-efficient path. 3. This is my top recommendation. If you have the funds, consider pursuing a master's in nursing in the UK, possibly with a scholarship. For example, Manchester Metropolitan University offers a program where you don't need a nursing background to apply.

However, if you selected other universities as your second and third choices, you can still proceed with the admission process for those schools. Also, you can apply to a school of nursing within the state of your chosen university. Recently, I’ve heard that you don’t need to have selected a school of nursing in your JAMB form to obtain their admission form. If you’re accepted by the school of nursing, you can then apply for a change of university. However, I would recommend confirming this information from reliable sources before proceeding.

@@AngelAnosike-r3n BSc in what? … the course you atudy previously will determine the level you will start with If you attended the School of Nursing and have an RN license, you can usually start direct entry from 200 level. However, if you studied another course at university (which must be science-related), you might have to start from the 100 level, depending on the school.

@@emmyblackdrunk3370 In my view, with the current structure of the School of Nursing in Nigeria, pursuing a BSc in Nursing at a university may no longer be necessary. This is because the School of Nursing now offers an HND degree, which is equivalent to a BSc. However, if you're still interested in obtaining a BSc, you have the option to do so through direct entry into a university or by enrolling in an online program. Another piece of advice is to consider applying for a master's program abroad (in the UK or the USA) after completing your studies at the School of Nursing. You would be eligible for these programs, even if your undergraduate background isn't in nursing. No. You will start from 200 level if you use the direct entry process. However, if you apply as a normal jamb student that is starting afresh, you will start from 100 level.

To enter NOUN for a BSc, you must already be a registered nurse. This means you need to attend a school of nursing first (such as LUTH) before applying to NOUN.
