I am writing this after my recent trip here. I never experienced a fear over a property before. I literally was fine during the whole tour but without even looking up the pioneer house the moment I walked into the living room it was colder than the other buildings and colder than the outside weather. I immediately felt uneasy in the living room. When I stepped into the bedroom, I felt super uncomfortable and scared and anxious. I had this uneasy feeling and something in my head set off and told me to get out. I told my fiance and he laughed and told me he was feeling fine and to follow him. I felt so much fear I took small steps and stared into the kitchen area and I just felt like this energy of being watched and felt a lot of fear that I had to step out. I went next door to another building and felt better again, but that was the only building that made me have this immense fear. I’ve never in my life experienced fear to enter any place including historical places.
My fiancé told me 30 min later he found this video that spoke about the pioneer home’s paranormal history and i instantly felt validated.
Again i didn’t know the pioneer home was haunted and i had never felt immense fear of being in a building until this visit.
I 100% would not step foot into that blue house ever again.

Fascinating story, and love the history. Never heard of this story, but was a bit shocked that on the tour there was no mention of the Bloody Espinosas, and how they are known to haunt the area. Would love to see a similar story/video done on that ordeal as well, given Abram Shoup is buried right across the street, and the story of the guy that was shot at by the brothers while riding from Alma, and came galloping through South Park City after being shot at. For those that don't know....they say the Bloody and Headless Espinosas still haunt the area of Park County...

I went to the South Park museum today. I remember feeling specifically creeped out in the pioneer house. I felt like somebody was glaring at me the entire time telling me to leave. Also it smelled like pipe tobacco in there.

My husband and i just visited. We didn't notice anything abnormal in the pioneer house. When we visited the smoke house, though, I did get a slight whiff of smoked meat. 🤷🏽 This was a super sad story.

I visited your fascinating museum last week. It appears that part (most?) of the Summer Saloon is walled off. What is the story on that? This video piqued my curiosity. Thanks!

Good question! When SPC opened in 1959, they already had a saloon (Rache's Place) so they used the Summer Saloon as the site of the first set of restrooms, and the maintenance shop. It's the only building with a furnace, so it's a good place to store paint, and supplies. The restrooms were moved in the 1980s when the Archive building was built. The front half of the building has been used as exhibit space ever since.

I would kill for a new episode of South Park with this idea.

Wow! What a sad story, but a great video. I will be more aware when I tour SPC next time. Such an outstanding life to end so tragically.

We visited South Park City recently. A great video telling the stories of the people that make up the history behind South Park City.

Which paranormal investigators came to SPC? My wife & I recently did the Lantern Tour and were told it was Ghost Hunters. However, I cannot find SPC in their episodes list. Thanks!
