That was a very informative and interesting video. As an 18-year old, I really got to learn something about the lifestyle and the work that IB's actually do and the thing you said about every day being a different experience really motivated me unlike when other youtubers ONLY speak about the long working hours
Thank you sharing the glimpse in your life of IB. Client facing roles require 24x7 service or is expected as you called out but then it's flavour of life you develop overtime.

Very good information on IBs. Worked for 2 years and it taught me a lot about life in general. However, I really liked the work life balance that I never had at all. The main idea of IB is to stay busy and just do what your supervisors direct you to do. I worked at Renaissance Capital based in Moscow. Is anyone here worked at RenCap?

I love networking with others and dabbling in the markets. You do many many things. Wow.
It's a challenging task to maintain work-life balance while working in audit practice, speaking from my experience with EY, Deloitte and KPMG in different countries. Investment banking, Treasury and Private Equity Manager are all great roles but demand more time and efforts.

IB requires more time and effort but its much more financially rewarded than audit, also i think more intellectually stimulating

As a complete outsider I think this kind of content is a valuable public service. I aim to show it to my grandson. He is only 13 but he is planning A levels in Pure and Applied Maths and Economics and studying Economics at LSE so a career as an IB is definitely an option.
I just sold a property in Portland and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $450k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.
A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

Interesting video, but I can't wake up at 6am that's good early. I still think that surviving and making it big in this life is not all about working hard but working smart. I don't work anymore but had my investment with someone who make monthly return for me.
I also did the same. I don't work anymore but I still receive returns from my investment.

Good Stuff, in my opinion we have seen or heard financial advice and Tips, personaly i would say the first thing should come into our mind is when we want to retire and it should not typical timeline like 30 years or 40 years, it should be some where around 5 to 10 years. If we can work on this time, we will more productive inderactly will solved many issue like Health, overspending, pursuing our passion and many.

It is so hard to get into investment banking in Australia. Internship/opportunities are only available in Sydney.

I remember working in central London for about 6 years, catching that train early hours in the morning and finishing late afternoon, it was good old times lol Worked with some great ppl and then decided to move away from London for good and moved up north for a better life.

What was the learning curve like for when you became an investment banker? Did you feel like the job was easy to grasp coming out of education or did you have to get support when you started out?
I’d really love to apply to an investment banking internship but worry that I would lose the opportunity if I asked for help while starting out.

She basically does corporate finance on the debt side. Sounds more glamourous than it is. You are constantly at the mercy of the client!

I would like to work in an investment firm oneday as an analyst (either investment bank or private equity), and obviously since the industry is very competitive to get in, I was wondering if you could give me some insight about some odd jobs in the industry that could help me get a foot inside the door like a photocopie associate in the printing department, or a job in the mailroom , or a clerc.
