00:00 First test
00:41 Let's increase wheel size
01:20 Change from front-wheels steering to the rear-wheels steering
01:50 From tracks to the huge wheels
02:55 Two VS one - who is stronger?
#lego #moc #experiment - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Feel free to suggest what else you want to test.
Try adding some weight on the dragging whell, that way it has more chances against the track vehicle, it will stop the whell from drifting.
@@florinnicoriciu8347 thanks! Nice idea!
@@DrEngine ты знаешь русский язык?
@@QarYYY Походу он не знает
Or just make sure they weigh exactly the same
Tires= have better grip on floor
Tracks= have better grip on terrain
Tracks also have more surface area and you can put rubber bits made by Lego in the tracks
If you put the rubber inserts on the tracks they’ll destroy tires
Vehicles should have
same mass, that will real test
I was just thinking about that. (For the creator, if you didn't know, mass is the most significant factor in traction. Everything else is just a multiplier. Without taking mass into account, you're mostly only going to prove which one is heavier.)
Weight distribution on the wheels matters as well
Place it in tiles floor the normal wheel would win all the time
If he added the rubber inserts on the track the normal wheel wouldn't always win
@@kevinpark1 oh right forgot thats a thing 😅
If this is a real life thing or something if a car trys to pull a tank tank wins every time
@@beesechurgr0 with the difference in power output, id certainly hope so
Tracks have more surface contacting the ground. You will need to have a lot more tires to equal it out to even be considered.
Grip piece for the track is so nice it will then work on all surfaces
Rwd drive or AWD would make more since but the front wheel drive doesn't make too much since
Place the pulling rope closer to ground, so that the vehicles won't fall. We can see the result better.
Just watching this I now understand why rear wheel drive works better for sports cars. The amount of grip it gained just by going from FWD to RWD was amazing.
Actually, front wheel drive generally has better traction, thus is one of the reasons why it's so common in vehicles now; this is due to the weight of the engine and drivetrain over the front wheels. You are correct for this scenario however - rear wheel drive can be better when towing because the load effectively adds weight to the rear of the vehicle. I think sports cars are rear wheel drive because it allows for an even weight distribution and induces oversteer.
@@markusswoveland3277 front wheel drive vehicles generally have less traction to the drive wheels due to when you step on it the weight transfers to the rear wheels and off of the front reducing the traction in the front wheels
FWD is cheaper to build. Saab somehow convinced the world it's great, I disagree, especially in the winter when FWD goes straight but an RWD can skid/drift to make a turn. To be fair you can help the FWD with some handbreaking, if you don't have one of the modern electrical ones which is a menace for safe winter driving.
@@markusswoveland3277 Also when the drivetrain is either front or all wheel drive, front wheels have to do three jobs at once instead of two, steering and braking in addition to sending power to the ground, which means the car can easily lose grip while accelerating and turning at the same time, so far so skiing as if the wheels were locked from braking too hard.
But they also recover from oversteering much easier.
The more hairy the ground is the more grip the tracks have, the more flat the ground is the more rubber is effective
Test it again but make sure they are the same weight, because that has a lot to do with it, or see how much weight it takes to make the tires pull the tracks or vice versa
Stay tuned 😉
Tracked vehicles roll better when they have road wheels that act as suspension pushing the track against the ground, if you make a system with road wheels and weight for more ground pressure it will probably pull the other two without issue
Thanks for suggestions! Maybe I'll use a battery pack as weight next time.
Tyre grip mostly depends on weight.
en pocas palabras, la tracvion trasera es lo mejor que pudo haber existido
The ultimate weapon are tracks with silicon knobs
When they both went over backwards all I could think of is cars when they make the tractors tip back lol
1:37 всё зависит от лего человечка
Dr. Engine : What type of mobility do you want?
M3 Halftrack : *YES.*
2:38 the cars tractors 🤣🤣🤣
The tracks were literally getting caught in the fabric like of course it’s gonna win against those tiny wheels lol
You should make another one of these but try to put center of mass so the car doesn't do wheelies
Next: Boeing 747 vs LEGO tracks
wonderful work
With the new D11 dozer tracks I bet this track vehicle would have no chance... Would be interesting
They all have the same weight? if not, its not a fair comparison. The heavier has advantage.
One has the speed while the other has no more strength
you shouldve made them the same weight when doing this to really see the difference
@Lego Planet TV im sorry if that came off as judgmental, i meant it as the way of testing pure grip with no other variables
Title : tracks vs tires
DRE : *changed the tracks into tires making it tires vs tires*
Lego technic car against a regular Lego car
very good your uploaded video👍👍
Front wheels drive car is worse than car on tracks. Maybe big 4x4 car can beat the car on super tracks like an 3:05 . I like this wideo😉.
Thanks for watching and suggesting!
Really thank you for the first clip I want to learn about gear box
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
It reminds me of the tractors from cafs
Крутой тест!
Aren’t there those rubber grip things for the tracks
nice 👍
Excellente idée. Awesome idea.
Thanks!
Keep upgrading the tracks to see how well they can do
Thanks for suggestion! How do you think tracks can be upgraded?
@@DrEngine add pegs , longer tracks, slower gearing, and wider tracks🙂
@Buddy Brown got it! Nice idea! 👍
put the rop below the center of the axel and make it four will drive
if the car with the tires was four-wheel drive, it would have double the grip and probably win.
Where can i buy lego parts like this?
Next up add rubber to the bottom of the tracks
Do they weigh the same?
Wait are there actually Lego wheels this giant?
You vs math exam
First, lets weight vehicles, the tracks have higher mass
The wheels has got small area that actually touches the ground, so tracks has got 100% better grip
That is where friction and shape comes in to play, the lego belts have flat surfaces so yes the belt will have more contact with the ground and have more grip but depending on the surface and shape of the belt and ground wilm change the outcome drasticly
Actually come to think of it i have an great example, go search tank drifting😂
@@hakonknedalhansen5948 you're right
RIP the catpet
Track has more surface area
Nice, how many lego sets do you own?
Thanks! About 7-8 different sets
@@DrEngine oh, ok :)
Sheeeeesh jk lol
u should equalize mass too, this test is completely wrong without equalized mass
Bhai is material ka naam bata do
For the track one, try using a few gear reductions ratios and increasing the speed proportionally to increase the torque against the others
And adding small spikes to the track to give it better grip on carpet, and rubber bands around the track for tile
Speed low = high torque
If it was on lino the tyre car would destroy
Make it rear wheel drive 😜🙂
Where do you get those lego tech parts?
From various sets
Or you can buy tracks separately from B&P.

Its rather fwd vs rwd
Walau di dunia nyata masih menang track lah tong
Just make the car awd all wheel drive
wow😃
Это я понимаю чтоб детям можно было наглядно обяснить физику.?
Да кто эта ваша масса и материал шасси и поверхности?
They’re not the same weight it’s not a fair experiment
Wheres the road wheels on the tracks?!

Uau gosto muito do seus vídeos 🤘
Obrigado, amigo!
Nice video lego
Нужно утежелить то место которое буксует
Qual eo nome desses lego quero comprar
Esto es MOC (mi propia creación), no un set de Lego
genial
Are you from India
Rwd is more powerful than fwd because it pushes the weight, giving more grip unlike fwd, giving slip
Hello
How to buy this things
Тоже блин сравнил передний хуже чем задний он тянет по рязному
Do this again but Make the tire ones wheels be powered by the same thing, because the track wheels have all 4 wheels moving from the device but the tire one only has 2
Надо было делать 4WD
YES
i think you need all wheel drive so you can get better grip for wheel
Amazing idea! Thanks!
@@DrEngine No Problem
YES I WILL
Bro you sould make It rwd ir awd foro tires and puta It on the floor
The tires because you're american right? U know what im sayin'
Technically this test isn't fair number one the width of the tracks is not the same as the width the tires which means the tracks have a wider surface area to grip number two driving the big sprocket on the tracks isn't fair to be fair he would need a wheel as big in diameter as the sprocket and track third vehicles are not the same weight one has more Force pushing it down harder giving it more grip
Thanks for your comment!
RWD NEED FRONT HAVVY

No I don't want to go to Brazil
That track car was heavier so
