First one I saw in person my mom pointed it out behind us and I was mindblown at how much better it looked in person. Looked like the fastest car on the road instantly. It gets even better when u do a carbon csl, vorstiener, or adro setup.
100% agree with your assessment of driveability as a daily driver vs the M340i. I had a 2020 M340i xDrive and now have a 2024 M3 Competition xDrive and it's so easy (almost too easy) to daily.
The only issue if you daily an M3 is probably the fuel consumption when you drive to work in downtown. If you only need to commute on express ways the fuel economy is actually not bad. Also if you upgrade the seats to bucket seats it becomes less comfortable and no vented seats. The leather seats (no upgrade) are quite comfortable tho.
@@manofsesame3024 most of my driving is highway or just pleasure, so my consumption isn't too bad (unless I'm really putting it through its paces but that's to be expected). I got the comfort seats for that exact reason...the carbon buckets look cool but they are not as comfortable and no cooling. The comfort seats still look sporty (more so than the seats in the M340i which look so basic).
Best car ive ever owned. I really wanna give the new m5 a try though. At times i miss my 2021 m5 and its v8 .. but the m3 and m4 have way better driving dynamics becuase its more nimble.
This isn't the LCI, it's just been updated to include the new iDrive. The 2025 refresh is the LCI. Don't understand why BMW didn't just wait for the LCI to update to the current iDrive setup...
Is this 2023 i drive 8 or 8.5? 25s have 8.5 im not sure what year they switched the software over unless any year can make the upgrade at dealer. The LCI is super nice on the M4
I like the sound of the M3 exhaust better. The 340 would get annoying pretty fast. Especially if you have to live with that every day. But I am not into exhaust sounds that much and I don't like attention so there's that I guess. I do love that blue interior however. And the frozen white is cool too. As an aside there are real world tests of people getting 31mpg out of the manual version at 62mph steady on the motorway. The auto should do even better because of the extra gears.
Basically everything, from the power to the steering to the chassis feel. It's almost not even the same car (I know a lot of M340i owners don't like to hear that...I was a previous owner an M340i so I have a very good reference point).
@@slurp3194 you notice the difference in everyday driving as well. They are completely different cars and the M3 doesn't need to be at a track to enjoy more than the M340i (obviously it excels even more on a track). If someone is looking for a comfy daily driver, just get the 330i.
@@slurp3194 I've owned both. The M3 isn't "significantly" more stiff or harsh. In Comfort it's only slightly more stiff than the M340i (with adaptive suspension). Long run the M3 holds their values very well, but the M340i will depreciate pretty quick. Once you drive both you realize it's not just the badge that makes it the more satisfying car to own. There's nothing wrong with the M340i it's a great car, but the M3 Competition is absolutely fantastic.
I’m here bc I’m debating trading my C8 Z06 for a G80 … not sure I can give up the drama and fun of the Z06. It’s so wild. Love me an M3, just not sure it’s quite exciting enough.
I bought one used for 78k . Sold it after 2 years for 72k.. plus had a minor collision .. g8x platform holds value extremely well. People wnat the s58 engine at any cost.
Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! M3 Comp or new M5 Touring?
New M5 touring without a question
The kidney grill has been growing on me
I use to think it looked so stupid, but maaaaan when you see it in person it's so mean.
I agree. Reluctant to admit i clowned it hard when it first came out but I love it now

Great review… just ordered my 2025 M3 xdrive and so happy it’s coming with even more power at 523hp.
Did you option it with carbon buckets?
Same here 👋🏻 can't wait for it arrives
That's great. I'm sure you'll enjoy.... I hope they bring the M3 Touring for the next gen

@@manofsesame3024 I get 16 mpg never on the highway and always in full sport mode, but im not always stomping it too much either
You definitely can option the executive package with the extended leathers, at least on the US configurator.

BMW running the body design with the"back though grill"... Resembling rabbit teeth... Kissing so many customers

at least we get the best of both worlds with the 2023 and 2024

Does it have lane assist and cruise control ?
Xdrive or rwd? Which option is best to go with?
Does an M440i xdrive with run flat have a worse right quality compared to M4 competition xdrive?
Rip laser lights, the leds just arent the same even though they claim theyre just as good
how is it daily driving the carbon ceramics? also have you thought of doing any exhaust mods
You can easily get 26 mpg on the highway.
@@civrev that’s not bad 💪
@dwnshft just have to use efficient mode and cruise control.
it should be a LOT more than 1 sec fasater tthan X6M, 911 carrera and S veersion next!!
How does this compare to your m340? I understand it’s a M. What would you say is incredibly better than your 340?
We have a whole video about this on the channel 💯

Nice review Matt. But, it's time for timing gear.
? I tracked it and timed it
Your forgot to add You should know that this thing depreciates like crazy
except for it doesn't lol
M3 doesn’t depreciate! 7 series and the Bimmer SUVs do.
Seem to be holding value pretty well. Hell, even the last gen F80 M3s are still in the 40-50k range used.
Buying a new M car isnt an investment its to drive and enjoy, youll probably lose 15-25k in a few years
