Hello from Ottawa! Lindell and his pillow transporters did not get into our city, or even the country, because they were not vaccinated and didn’t have a recent PCR test.
Incidentally, I do live in a part of the city that was blocked with trucks (big rigs, farm equipment and private vehicles). They are finally gone and I am ecstatic!

So, uh, hey, NBC! Y'know there's this thing called TH-cam, where you can film a show and then publish it on this thing called "The Internet". So people can watch it even when you have other programming on those ancient "television" boxes.
Hell, NBC has their own streaming platform and they still didn't think to use that.
As a phone app developer, I can tell you, 'Something went wrong' is a very common error message. The managers often don't want to make themselves look bad or scare the user with a complex error message that won't mean anything to most people and will only serve to confuse the user, so they go with 'Oops! Something went wrong!', which sounds light-hearted and jokey compared to 'Error -1694: stack overload'. Meanwhile they actually log the important data that will help them fix the issue someplace else, such as an error management solution like Firebase / Crashlytics, or a bespoke back-end solution.
and as a user, i can tell you that collapsing all possible error conditions to a single message with no details is user-hostile behavior. it's possible to be friendly while also giving users something unique that can be googled.

It's less lighthearted and jokey, and more frustrating and patronizing.

As a Canadian and an Ottawan, I just want to correct some fundamental things here: 1) This was not a protest. It was an illegal occupation of our nation's capital. With air horns honking, days on end, people being harassed in their own neighbourhoods, and hate speech. 2) This was not really about truckers. Yes, some truckers came and occupied our streets. But it looks like they were pawns of the people who organized and funded this alt-right event. 3) This wasn't even about vaccine mandates. We don't know exactly what it was about, except maybe "freedom!", "my rights!" and generally trumpian bullsh*t. Thanks USA, for exporting that nonsense to Canada!

The stamina and endurance required to await Seth’s return far exceeds that of any Olympian. We did it though, I mean I cried myself to sleep under the kitchen table in fetal position for two weeks while all hell broke lose in real time. A couple of times I attempted to pacify myself by trying to understand how curling or skiing with rifles are considered sports or how the execs at NBC believe that they have a sufficient following worth usurping Late Night to bring us all that. Look at the last two Presidents to be impeached from each party and you'll notice a stark difference in the charges. One was for lying about oral sex. The other tried to extort an allied country into investigating Hunter Biden and then later tried to violently overturn the election he lost.
