"Curse Rest Snorlax is so bad I assume that anyone who brings it is either clueless or trolling." --Albert Einstein, "Snorlax is actually terrible in gen 3 OU; here's why"
Yeah I don’t know much about ADV but getting access to regular-priority Roar while asleep seems like it compensates pretty well for being walled by Ground-types
I think Sleep Talk isn't exactly standard on Rest Zapdos. The issue with Sleep talk is that if you use it on the second turn of Sleep from Rest, if you switch out it will reset your Sleep counter, putting yourself in a lose-lose situation. This means that most of the time you cannot afford to click Sleep talk on the second turn you are asleep. Thus Sleep talk is very inconsistent as you are expected to get off 2/3 of a useful move per 2 sleep turns. Toxic is a more consistent tool to poison Ground types and force out Celebi and Blissey.
"Why do we protect when we know we're gonna die" PP stall. Might as well waste one of their moves. Game 1 tho, protecting moltres against mence had zero value what so ever. Also its usually better to finish off a mon with a move that hits the rest of the team super effective/neutral even if your target resists. Eg. Metagross vs skarm, skarm at 5% health. Skarm resists meteor mash so normally youd never use it but who knows, maybe they switch into aero or ttar. So regardless of the move you finish off skarm but if they decide they wanna try and keep skarm to chip heal or pivot later then mash gives you the most value. Protect can help scout out the 3rd or 4th move in that situation. Very niche, seldom comes up and that wasnt the best example but things like that have happened. Just one of those silly optimization things. Its like setting all your mons as female to play around attract. Ive seen attract literally one time on a kangkaghan (or however you spell it) and yea easily won that.
Gamefreak removing levitate from gengar is a crime literally no reason i don't think any other Pokémon has had its only normal ability be replaced by a worse ability
They probably wanted to ‘balance’ it because they thought Mega Gengar would be too strong if it could come in on a ground type attack, Mega evolve, then trap something. Of course, Megas are dead now, but Gengar remains nerfed. Bravo Gamefreak.
Always have to appreciate Leech techs like dd mixmence. Don't personally like shadow ball lacking rest-curse lax tho. If your suit Tar dies it leaves you in a pickle
The narrator sounds bored and seems to only be half paying attention to what’s happening. I love gen 3 OU, but damn do I miss Jim on some of these narrations. Some of these vids are hard to watch. I’d rather have less videos if it meant Jimcool was narrating all of them.
I have no way to differentiate between which ones are Jim and which are guests before clicking on the video. I'm always willing to give the guest commentary a chance - sometimes it's quite good - but it doesn't do the channel any good when the quality is subpar.
@@GrizlyWizardhis another commentary (the swampert protect war one) is quite good. Everyone has ups and downs. And if u hate him so much, you can always end the video after hearing his voice
@@HE4DSHOT059 Of course I can stop watching a video if I don't like it. That goes without saying. I don't have an inherent problem with guest narration. My criticism is that for this battle, the narrator sounds uninterested in what's happening, and at certain points doesn't seem to be paying attention. I stopped watching the video around the 5-6 minute mark when he said had no idea how many turns Zapdos had been resting for. Isn't it his job to, ya know, WATCH THE BATTLE? If I was a content creator who asked someone to help with a video, and this was the quality they produced, I wouldn't be happy, because it would reflect poorly on my channel. As someone who is very familiar with metrics and algorithms, there is nothing worse for a TH-cam channel than to have a large portion of your viewers stop watching 30% into the video. Even if a small percentage of your viewers do this, it can drastically affect how often your video gets recommended to others, and it hurts the channel's ability to grow.
This is a standard Set btw. Saw it alot callous invitational 7 by the best players in the world. It doesn't care about not hitting pert, it's a special wall that racks up spike damage and is the phazer for team who want to run peck toxic protect on skarm, so it doesn't have room to phaze
I think that fakenagol's name is actually logan, and that it's just reversed, so I would say that your pronounciation is correct But it's just a theory :x
feels like a bad play when u go mag into skarm? wtf are you talking about? why does it feel like a bad play? should the skarm be left to its means to set up spikes then? worst commentary i've heard in the series
That zapdos was so tired that even when sleeping it was thinking about nothing besides sleeping
Me on the weekends

Bro was in Gen 2 Dreamland
First 6 Sleep Talks resulted in 5x rest and 1x Tbolt into Swampert, what the hell
"Curse Rest Snorlax is so bad I assume that anyone who brings it is either clueless or trolling." --Albert Einstein, "Snorlax is actually terrible in gen 3 OU; here's why"
I love the sarcastic commentary here, I say the same thing everytime my opponents use protect
wastes 1 pp
Tbolt roar rest talk is a stabdard set btw. Not as bad as the commentator made it out to be

"I have no idea how long Zapdos has been sleeping with all these switches and Sleep Talks."
Good ol' Gen III Sleep Talk mechanics.
This is outside ordinary expectations
This is beyond reasonable thinking
waking up and going back to bed is really just the mood
that snorlax said so many bad words

Nah the protect was a good play to win through sand storm chip, just needed 6x straight protects.
finally someone walls a mono snorlax with gengar
Not talked about much but the Zelda boss music like molgera is very nice to listen to with the commentary. Great round!
Thank you Hinkage, very cool!
This is outlandish
9:43 This is the most relatable thing ever LMAO. The opponent will do a dumb ass play but wont get punished because they landed a crit lol

Sky Battle
Likely because gengar’s model isn’t airborne
@@thebestworst8002klefki's model is airborne but it doesn't get levitate
It was the only grounded Pokémon to get Levitate which never made sense. Also Cursed Body is a great ability. Great change.
This is uncalled for.
This is unprecedented
The zapdos set is quite common though
This guy is obsessed with special avatars😂
i will never find "We're protecting" bit unfunny. I like it too much
He’s indestructible.
Something very funny about the battle taking an impromptu break because both the zapdos were napping
Dragon dance mixed is truly a set
That Zapdos was sleepy.

Always carry a backup plan for Pokémon mainly dealing fighting or normal type damage to kill ghosts.
