Hello, Alex!! In my opinion, the best way to cut plexiglass is with a carbide disc. In car workshops they have small angle grinders with which the shear can be done. The more teeth the disc has, the cleaner the cut will be, but there will be a lot of dust. Greetings from Bulgaria
I think the savings thing can be overstated by people to show some sort of objective benefit. I just like doing some maintenance and I enjoy buying new tools, for me it’s a fun learning experience. Makes me have something to do over winter and I get to show my kid how things bolt together. If I was really trying to save money I could always buy used tools (great deals out there). Wrenching a bit also proved to be great on tour as it made checking everything at the end of the day easier and gave confidence of something would have happened. The biggest benefit however isn’t the money or the fun or the learning. The biggest benefit is being able to do all the ”simple” jobs without having a shop find time. Last year a non-wrenching buddy couldn’t find time for someone to change his oil for love nor money. Well, he could just come over and we could do it ourselves. A lot of those things matter a lot.
I think it's very important on a long multi day trip to be familiar with your bike. Usually it brakes down it's fixable with some basic tools and a few ordinary spare parts. And of you are familiar with your bike you can get it done on the side of the road in 30 minutes and be back on your way.
Thank you, I like to keep my videos honest, I'm just a regular guy that works with a tight budget and try to get the most out of it. No big productions here and probably never going to be big productions. I don't like them, I do what I like to do and put out unfiltered real life :D
My biggest costs when first getting into DIY repairs was tool accumulation. It’s harder now for people new to mechanics as there are so many junk tools being sold for big prices, brands that were trustworthy 20 years ago are no longer a promise of quality. It’s another whole topic in itself adding to the struggles getting set up on our own.
Hey, how do you manage to keep your mirrors in one piece?! 😆 Your traffic riding is beyond just versed and brave, it's downright amazing! I enjoyed a lot, keep them comin'!😉😆 All the best, ride safe!✌
Experience and knowing the with of your machine, after 50.000km I'm pretty well acquainted with my scoot. Oh yeah and these are the original mirrors it came with :D
Good morning alex ! Are you thinking of getting another scooter for yourself and if so what would it be? Also if you try the new pcx please do cruising speed i would like to see how it performs and also is it good for light touring? i know we only get the 125cc not the 160cc anyway i would like your opinion! Have a Nice day!
@@RideWithAlex Hi Alex, did you already buy the Adx 125, or was that the deal with your employer where you ‘share’ the bike for the coming time? I thought that was with the Zontes 350? I love Donny, but I would absolutely love to see the adx 125 do the Scooter Cannon Ball Run… Thanks for another vid!
I don’t think the windshield looks weird. It’s very similar to the one I had on my GTS250 Vespa. Next time you trim a shield try a disc style cutting wheel. That oscillating blade is much more prone to breaking. If you decide to use that same saw, try cutting the broken shield until you get it down.
I am always for the repairs by yourself , if u have the time . At least to do the basic stuff engine oil and gearbox, air filters etc. Alex , don`t go hard on you. This is the learning Curv. And ofc u get some jobs not so good , but for me the exp. is worthless. Be more soft on you. All I told to my friend that want to start, told them I can not unscrew one bolt before. At 18 I get a front brige of my car at the ground in front of my father`s garage / not a shop! After all the tools are super important, as much as you skills. Cheers!
I am at the point where almost every bike/toy I have owned has always been bought broken on the cheap and I always end up needing to spend a few months rebuilding them before even riding. I think I am going to go with something new this spring for once and not deal with others peoples junk for once.
Man these videos are getting me hype for the cannonball.. I just ordered a few parts for my morphous... You guys mind if a 250cc rides in the back of the pack ?
@RideWithAlex I noticed in a previous video that you said that if viewers enjoyed your content then they could sub to your channel if they wanted but you had no expectations & they can do what they like. In a world of attention whores where everyone is hustling viewers to sub, & where 'success' is measured in terms of views, likes & subs, Ride With Alex is refreshing. You enjoy making content & enjoy that viewers might get something out of it. No expectations or attitude. So I subscribed. 👍
Alex you are good guy. But I think the issue is knowing when to hire someone and when not to. And if you want to learn don't do the learning on the expensive item until you get the process down.
It's fine, but through the city this is better plus I need to ride him to get the engine broken in and see if anything else need changing or repairing. In 3-4 months he's going on a container heading for Texas.
I read a couple of days ago that Romanians no longer need a visa to come to the US. (I'm in Oregon) Dr Pulley sliders didn't improve the performance of my Lifan 170cc scooter so I'm interested in how they work for you. I went back to 12g rollers.
Jigsaw and plexiglass is a bad combination, even with the finest tooth blade. I know that from experience, unfortunately. A grinder worked for me, but still no guarantee, it can still either crack or melt if you are not extremely careful. I would find a shop to do it.
To cut plexiglass I use a sharp medium wood blade. A fine toothed blade like a metal cutting blade melts the plastic, the blade sticks and cracks the plastic. After cutting I sand paper the edge then flame polish with a propane torch.
You make a very valid point about learning new things, sometimes there's no substitute for experience.
It’s refreshing to see your approach to motorcycling! Your down to earth advice is definitely appreciated!

Hello, no new scooters for me, I allready have the Symphony, the Zontes 350E and a SYM ADX 125.

@dutchpete1383 i reserved it and will do the final purchase probably în autumn but until them I can use it.

Try holding the plexiglass against something so it doesn't move up and down around the cut area

I don't mind it at all. We're not in it to win it, it's for the road trip and comradery.
@RideWithAlex I planned to just do it on the big 250 then maybe try to compete with a 125 next time .
We will how my back and ass hold up 🤣
What about Brutus? Whats happen? Its alive? Any plan route with Brutus?
Curently needs a new battery and to have it's inspection done, no plans currently with him.
Hi, the name of the navigation app you use?

incearca cu un traforaj, are panza subtire si nu vibreaza ca fierastraul electric
my windshield on my adv hit me right under my helmet and at high speeds it tries to left my helmet off my head. so go try some high speed runs
Top speed is 100km/h, that is the highest of speed and it's fine. =)))
