      Him, and Keanu, have always had a special place in my heart. I find it very fitting that they referred to Dave, as Keanu, in the beginning of the video.
      They are both really good guys with enormous hearts. They're very humble, easy going, kind, and giving men.
      They both take the time to be there for others, and they try to help people. They do not do it for recognition, or publicity. They truly help out of the goodness of their hearts.
      Earlier this year, Dave took his smoker to a homeless shelter, and spent over 24 hours cooking, and feeding, everyone. Back in 2018, when California was engulfed in wildfires (yet again) he barbecued for the firefighters. He gave a fan his pair of orthopedic shoes when he saw her on crutches. My favorite Dave moment was when he saw a blind boy at one of his shows. He bought the boy, and the boys dad, on stage and let the boy play on his guitar...I feel the list of good deeds is endless.
      Keanu Reeves is also an amazing human. He gave his stunt team, from the Matrix, Harleys. He gave Rolex watches to the people he worked with on the set of John Wick. When he heard a crew member, on one of his films, was having money trouble, he gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus. He regularly rides the subway and will give up his seat to others (elderly, pregnant women, disabled people, etc...). He sat with a homeless man before, and talked with him for hours, because the man just needed someone to talk to. He donated over 70% of hold matrix salary to cancer research. He's done so much more too.
      Both men have also donated millions upon millions to various charities.

      I'm a massive Foo Fighter fan aka Dave Grohl fan. So, when I can't sleep, I'll just pop down the TH-cam rabbit hole. I know that I can't watch a concert because there's no way in hell that I'll even get a nap. But, I love to watch interviews, biographies, and historical shit. The one consistent thing that I've heard about Dave is that he's the nicest guy in rock and roll. Over and over and over again, I've even looked for bad things that Dave has ever done and you get NOTHING! The only thing that I hope and pray for, is that if he still smokes cigarettes, please stop. I don't want anything to happen to him or anyone in the band, especially if it's something that he can control. Just listen to Jon Bon Jovi, whether you're a fan or not, listen to him a few years ago and listen to him today. I know he had surgery on his throat, not sure why, nodules maybe, but smoking for years didn't help.

His greatness is something everyone can aspire to because rather than seeing his own greatness he seems to always approach everyone else with the attitude of "Oh my god I'm having such a great time. Did you see the video with him and the band when he brought the 8 year old girl on to play the drums? Probably the coolest story of the year. She's an incredible drummer and she made a video challenging him to a drum off and then she ended up in stage with one of her idols. And it wasn't a charity case or him being nice because she played that part as good as Dave does.

      Right I feel it......I idolized all the 90s guys like Kurt and Bradley Nowell and Layne Staley and ended up a heroin addict before I was even done with high school......now I admire John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers who was in as dark a place as one can imagine and did insane amounts of drugs and yet survived and became a stronger person in every way who doesn't glamorize that kind of shit. And guys like Dave who endured all of that surrounding them but stayed strong and stayed true to themselves.

    • @presinald
      @presinald 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@user-kk2dw1eh5q the way I worded it was kinda wonky, I don't think those guys glorified it either but both past and present has had many a musician who has and I hate that shit. I like good rap music but all these SoundCloud idiots telling teens to take counterfeit Xanax in the middle of the whole fentanyl situation is just despicable.
      Many an AIC song is about the misery of addiction and the Sublime song "Pool Shark" ends "one day I'm gonna lose the war". I know Layne and I'm almost positive Kurt as well did interviews saying that they don't want to glorify it at all and Layne was pretty brutally honest about the realities of heroin addiction.
      I still love those three bands too but I'm no longer that naive angsty teen who idolized them and wanted to do the things that they did.
      It's so damn tragic though how many people drugs have taken way too soon, before they even had a chance to get to the light at the end of the tunnel.
