  • Inside the HAMPTON COURT PALACE - Home of King Henry VIII and the the Tudor dynasty: a 500-year old royal pleasure palace
"The original Tudor Hampton Court Palace was begun by Cardinal Wolsey in the early 16th century, but it soon attracted the attention of Henry VIII, who brought all his six wives here. Surrounded by gorgeous gardens and famous features such as the Maze and the Great Vine, the palace has been the setting for many nationally important events.
When William III and Mary II (1689-1702) took the throne in 1689, they commissioned Sir Christopher Wren to build an elegant new baroque palace. Later, Georgian kings and princes occupied the splendid interiors. When the royals left in 1737, impoverished 'grace and favour' aristocrats moved in.
Queen Victoria opened the palace to the public in 1838. It has remained a magnet for millions of visitors, drawn to the grandeur, the ghosts and the fabulous art collection. " (HRP, 2021)
‼️ Please note that due to ongoing preservation work, a number of rooms as well as the famous Maze were closed to the public at the time of filming. ‼️

Really enjoyable stroll. Nice not to have to put with an often tedious narration too! I went with a friend to Hampton Court Palace decades ago to a Son et Lumiere display that was held in the main courtyard at the front of the Palace. It was amazing. As you were walking around, I was trying to visualize what the rooms looked like when occupied. Difficult to do.

I believe I heard "Pastime With Good Company" being played in one of the rooms. That's the one song that survives that is known for a fact to have been written by Henry VIII. It is said that he wrote Greensleeves, but that has been doubted and cannot be proven. This is an excellent video! You can hear it in the scenes in the Great Watching Chamber.

Awesome palace... many rooms there... marriage with many wives look great too there, like a king Solomon who to beloved by many foreign female, European, Mediterranean, latin American, and many else, don't worry, i'm just dreamer, my kingdom is here perhaps... Commonwealth future must be thinking correctly and kindly, nor about materialities or arrogance, you will be adore but responsibilities are... I send My creation to this world to make this world better again, Adam... Let's dream... The garden looks very very great, those canals too, very very productive here... Lambs, sheeps, cows , goats, chickens, deers, fish to be growing here as well as fruit trees, and vegetable, looks like mini Commonwealth here... The true King must protects his people when they are dying or happy, always beside them, always show the true vision for them...a rule model, like a mirror for them... Awesome... Commonwealth trems, very very correct to celebrate in Windsor castle, very strong castle, just like a mirror for its members, awesome again...🌐🇬🇧👑❤️
