I decided to learn the whole song and i thought was for one day but i see its not something for one day . I want to say you have a tremendous patience to teach and i believe you definitely the best on the web right now . Thank you so much .
I think Jimmy did this solo to add a bit of "wow factor" to what otherwise was just one more blooz tune. Remember, he had to fire a serious shot with Hendrix, Beck & many others breathing on his heels. The thing that everyone misses about it is the sense of outright Rock 'n Roll FUN it entails in learning it. And Jimmy himself would say right to your face that it's SUPPOSED to be an "open interpretation" piece, with YOUR PERSONAL BITS put into it. You can take it as basic as possible (close to the record), or go bananas with a 20 minute meltdown of your amp. Yes, it's sloppy. But look at it for the FUN!
Colin me Depends in what sense you mean... as lead guitarists, yes. If Jimmy was thinking to add this solo to prove himself a better lead guitarist than them then he was misguided and failed. However, I’m pretty sure Jimmy wasn’t thinking that way. What Jimmy was way ahead of the others at (in my opinion) was in composition, riff and song writing, production, developing new styles/genres and playing the right thing for the song. I’m pretty sure that would have been what would have been in his mind when he added this solo section.
@@davidburke2132 He was better at being part of a band and composing as such. Mr Page said that Hendrix was a genius in the studio and created some techniques way before anyone else. Especially in his use of stereo.
@@colinme2672 What planet did you come from? Page was the Number 1 studio guitarist in Britain. He literally, punched up every recording made at that time. That would include John Mayall, who gave Beck his start. Hendrix was not much of a musician, or human being for that matter. Drunk, drug addicted, and a woman beater. He left Mitchell and Redding in the lurch, without bothering to tell them he formed another band. Still owes them money.
Thank you so much for taking the time to break this down. After a few months I am close to having it down. I never thought I would achieve such a masterpiece chunk of guitar. Appreciated very much!!!

Don't sweat it. Page never did it the same way twice. I saw them three times back in the day in Seattle. The only one on the stage that knew what was up was John Paul Jones. Every one else was drunk, stumbling, missing ques, out of tune, and generally sounding pretty sloppy. A great studio band, but not so hot live. Just my opinion.

Player tip: during the G-string/above the nut bends, I'll place my right thumb behind the neck and press down with my middle finger. Press away from the nut to make it easier. Thanks for posting-I've been at this five nights in a row! Also, Page often replaced the high E string with a banjo string, then regular E for the B, B for the G and so on. He's actually pressing on a G string at he beginning.

G-R-E-A-T !!!!!!!!!! it was fifty years I was waiting for this.. THANKS, my dear son
They weren't breathig on his heels. They were miles ahead.
@@colinme2672 if I'm not mistaken Beck himself openly (and rightfully honestly) acknowledges Page as better than him so...
Thank you so much for taking the time to break this down. After a few months I am close to having it down. I never thought I would achieve such a masterpiece chunk of guitar. Appreciated very much!!!
Thers not much u can’t pull off,no pun intended.nice, good job
I have learned quite a few songs from your videos but this solo is the crown 👑 👌 jewel sir. One of my all time favorites that I just hacked my way thru until now. I've almost got the whole thing down so thank you from the bottom of my heart sir. You are an awesome player and instructor
It’s just amazing I’m speechless AMAZING Skills
This is one I've wanted to learn since I was like 13. I just sat and watched this for about 90 minutes to transcribe it into tab. This is gonna take a while to learn, but that's ok. First of your videos I've seen.
Excellent work!
this why we love guitarlessons365 :)thanks bro
Came across this based on the heading and was interested. Well done. It put a smile on my face.
Thank you very much for making this video, taking time to give instruction and your great skill.
this is one solo that is just WOW.
thank you again.
Well Mr. Brown, a whole lotta love to this Heartbreaker breakdown. I took it in and digested the whole thing and I believe my dedication to your unbelievably intense and detailed lesson has taken me to the next level! It might be years before someone at my level could get this down at full speed but I am just so impressed that your direction helped me lick this lead albeit at 50% speed, I'm thrilled at how you've helped me. I've been on the fence about subscribing to your 365 academy, but I'll have you know, I just did. Thank you!! and Rock on!
Well done! I'm still way intimidated by it but you nailed it.
This dude is the best tutor of all these guys. Great videos
Carl, you are officially a guitar god. I worship you
"Let it be" the best guitar solo in the universe. Simply amazing
I've been trying to play this damn solo my whole life, and I've never gotten it right. Well, thanks to your awesome tutorial, I guess I'm going to have to try again. *sigh* Thanks. I think.
Close is good enough on this solo. As long as you get the opening lick right and the bluesy descend, no one will ever know the difference.
I guess it's an academic challenge. To me it has jimi's speed and feel but it's nothing to spend hours on
@@OutnBacker Unsurprising actually. One of my favorite bands ever but I heard plenty of useless noodling and out of tune shit. They fare badly when compared to bands that deliver stellar shows all the time, of which there are plenty both old and new
10 months ago I was learning smoke on the water from you on my cheap strat copy. Now I’m learning one of the hardest rock solos of all time from you on my fender.
I’m BEGGING PLZ A LESSON OF THIS I LOVE- GnR
Carl...you are so "F-word" awesome!...thank you for taking this one and teaching it to us. You are the best teacher working....thank you again!
Ahh this solo really is one of a kind, and only Page is capable of doing it perfectly! Still, great and valuable lesson from ye as always!
Unfortunately, he was FAR from perfect when recording this solo. 🤭
@@pmkrak that's the beauty of it
@@pmkrak You must be a Petrucci fan...
Josh Perkins I think it is a bit sloppy but in it's day it was absolutely mind-blowing.When I think back to when I was a kid and learning how to play 2 guitar solos that absolutely kicked me in the head and made me want to play better were this and 25 or 6 to 4 Terry Kath. They both sound fresh today(to me anyway)So yeah it's a bit sloppy. So what. Its great,It's iconic and it still sounds great.Very nice rendition here by the way.Nailed it !

The guitar solos that shattered a quintillion brain cells.
Huh what?
I've finally got it down! Watched the video into three chunks, learned over three days. No way I would have been able to do this without the lesson, thanks Carl!
You sure nailed it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
finally finishing this video is the most satisfying thing ever
I think after that great lesson I’m going to have to buy one of your cool new tees ✌🏻
Done! 😎
Thanks!
Everything this guy does is really good. I have learned a ton from him.
I'm about to give this a try but I couldn't do it without this kind of help. No way.
I go to his videos first whenever possible.
"Alright u got that? Lets move on!"😂😂😂
He makes it look so easy - lol. The greatest, most difficult solo ever is a walk in the park for him. Nice!!!
It's not the most difficult solo though
Finally!
Thanks : )
You freaggin ROCK in the way you "teach" ... Mas Zeppelin !!! KEEP ON doin what you do !!!!!!!!!
Oh God Carl , thank you so much
Try learning this in 1972 or whenever it was released. I wore out my finger on the turntable trying to slow it down to hear the notes. You guys are so lucky to have all these tools today to demystify the guitar.
Is this he lesson that sent you to he hospital? Get well soon Carl
Nah just part of the therapy I have been doing for months
@@GuitarLessons365SongLessons I do guitar and VR therapy. PTSD. It helps along with Vapes. 😉
Jimmy was obviously on something when he played this... Great tutorial!!!
I think you should take a week long vacation after this.
Hey Carl you are the greatest guitar teacher in You tube!! I have learned many of favorites songs, thanks to your videos , they are easy to follow and they are not slow or too fast, exactly at my learning speed. This one of my favorites since I started playing guitar 40 years ago.
Really, I buy a big guitar book, just for this song today, and now you decide to do it?
Met Fan don’t worry about it, almost guaranteed the book is not even close to correct. 😛
Steven Woolgar its a Led Zeppelin Mothership tab book so I hope so
Page is top 5 all time...yes he could be sloppy considering his lifestyle...the man was pure Genius...listen to how the west was won live ! Amazing. great lessons Carl..Thank you
please do mean street by van halen
Great job ! Broke it down perfectly ! Thanks, great solo from one of the greats, and great teaching !
Can’t wait till I get HOMMEE

I am pretty sure ear training is crucial as well
productions learning the pentatonic scale will help your ear a lot as well. Start there and build off of it and play it all the time all over in every key. You'll start picking things up by ear this way and learning your fretboard.
Ive learnt the unaccompanied solo. Playing it slowly to begin with. Thanks Carl.
