My dad Richard built this car! And I LOVED it I got taken to the primary school disco in this bad boii and all the kids were jealous when I got out and the doors went up! Most popular I’ve ever been tbh 😂 this video made me so happy to see it again!

You'll need to double check the serial number, but that might be a Automobile Snow White color PS2 SCPH-30000, which are like a grand. There were a limited number of PS2 consoles painted with automotive paint and that looks like it may be one of them

@un-_-known688 not true. I own 2 ceramic white ps2s. The singstar ps2 bundle is how you got the white ps2 slim in north merica. Its worth about 224 for just the console :)

Why not? you ask. Because it was never really funny and hasn't aged well.
6:35 That small red button, the car shutting off, and the "eeeeeeeeeeeee" noise make me belive that button is for the flame kit. A lot of modern day flame kits just shut off the power to the engines coilpacks, and route it to the coil for the spark plug in the exhaust. If you want, try revving the car, and holding WOT, and pressing the button. If everything works, the injectors should still pulse fuel into the cylinders, the spark plug in the engine wont do anything, and the raw fuel+air will get ignited as it exits the exhaust.
Exactly as stated, had a “dragons breathe” flamer kit on my GSi back in the early 00’s and the button kills the coils for the engine and starts the coil for the exhaust. Rev the engine up, press and hold the button whilst keeping WOT and then release the button before the engine stalls 👍🏻
I can’t believe they ripped half the interior apart instead of just googling how flame kits work, or how to use them.
Today's young drivers have NO idea how cool the early 2000s modding scene was!
To be fair, as lads who grew up watching Fast and Furious and Pimp My Ride. we knew about it, saw a few modified cars out and about, but on the whole the general consensus between me and my mates was that they were all a bit naff.
I don’t any of the Max Power era cars have aged very well at all.
One of my favourite weekend activities as a 15 year old was hanging around bus stops in town with a Bacardi Breezer watching the endless laps the local modified cars used to do. Novas, Fiestas, Saxos, Astra GTEs... Never understood why my mates wanted to chase girls instead. Weirdos.

I have a soft spot for these kind of cars. The craftsmanship and the creativity that were put into these is unlike pretty much anything you see today. Bonus points for having labeled everything behind the rear seats
A good idea would be to sell those DVDs on the TDC shop
And use most of the profit to pay for the partial restoration

Not necessarily... the Max Power 106 I rebuilt in 2021 hadn't had an MOT since 2005, so it didn't show up on the online database 😅

I remember this car back in the mid 2000s, I owned an FTO myself and remember most people in the owners club absolutely hated this thing, hats off to the original owner for trying something different, must have cost an absolute fortune back then as modifying them was either figure it out yourself using parts for other cars or import parts from Japan and incur huge shipping costs
I could tell you so many stories about that car including how to work the flamer kit. I know because I built it

It's cool what you can do with addressable LEDs today but there is something about the neon glow you just can't beat.
The best part for me was the last 15 seconds of the video.
I've worked on and build a fair share of ICE and Hi-Fi systems in the past. So it was really satisfying to see the screens in working order.

My mum and stepdad used to have a red FTO when I was younger. It was the V6 with Mivec and it went pretty well at the time. 197bhp wasn't bad back then. Always had a soft spot for them.

I remember so many Max Power magazines and even a "how to" book for modifying your car back when I was a wee lad 🤣 I used to think that having massive exhausts (or multiple of them) was the coolest thing ever.

The funniest thing about max power to me is that probably 90% of the cars didn't have a single power upgrade. I don't count nitrous because it was more of a show modification than anything else.
My cousin had max power rover 25 or mg zr near the end of this era, it was a matte grey/green colour with lambo doors/hydraulics and the 100% necessary sound system.
When you Google mg zr max power there's a picture of one with about 8 exhausts, this isn't the car but it was a similar colour but greener and had a single front light on each side instead of duals.

I know it's a long shot, but you should do a proper Juiced tribute to this car (yes, I said juiced because this car was actually in the game, ulike nfs or midnight club).
What I mean by tribute. A proper tuneup (a cheap ebay turbo or SC), nos, the works. You already got the Nos, and the "proper" cosmetic modifications in place.

These a such a fun little car when they're not rusted through and full of electronics and wiring they don't need (at least, not for the show business). It's sad that I knew the engine was untouched just from the startup xD. This is such a childhood hit from the early 2000s, and games like Juiced (The OG one anyway) really helped with keeping these things cool. I own one now a GPX COTY, it's mint. Very cool to see this one

If anything, I would at least send it out to get polished/cleaned up as best as it can. For the most part the interior doesn’t seem to be too terrible either, but the whole car needs to be disinfected. As a precaution.

I’ve owned over 50 cars and the FTO was by far my favourite. Mine was a limited edition and mapped. V6 Mivec was a beast (until it blew up). 😂

I used to have a flame kit back in the 2000’s and as far as I remember it didn’t have external gas or anything like that, you just cut the power from engine coils and instead turn on the exhaust coil, the air-fuel mixture was ignited on the exhaust and kaboom you had flames
Which would explain why it didn't start when the control box was unplugged.

Really looking forward to seeing more of this awesome time machine ! I really like the max power era, since it expressed the freedom to do whatever you want/can with your car. Even if not all of those cars were looking good or to be taken serious ... all of them were the opposite of boring or standard and they still bring people together.
