The leaves are called Shiso and have been used as herbs in Japan since ancient times. Red perilla, one of them, is used as a natural colorant in foods that are colored in red, such as dried plums. It is also used as a dye. It is the most popular herb in Japan.
We used to go to sushi restaurants with conveyor belts in Okinawa in the 80's. We called them the "sushi trolley". Different plate colors were different prices.
I'm thinking this could be the post-coronavirus future of buffets. You sit in a booth that separates you from other diners, it's all you can eat but nobody else touches or breathes on your food (maybe they'd have to put plastic covers over each dish on the conveyor belt, with your table number on the cover so you know whose is whose). Kind of like a very modern automat. I'd dig it.
a 2 piece Salmon nigiri costs 6 dollars US in Tucson, Arizona. We have a average household earning of 35,000 k a year. Does this seem overpriced to you, when Dancing can get the same product for 2 dollars while still living in a thriving economy? I feel that the whole ,"America is great" ideal is losing steam.....
this is because that kind of salmon is harder to get in America then Japan. in America's "defense" are fruit and vegetables is rather inexpensive while in Japan can cost a whole lot more. for instance , $5.00 for a bag of 12 apples in America and $5.00 for maybe 3 apples in Japan.
@@kaelmyers4592 There are several different reasons for why Japanese fruit is expensive but it's not because they are incapable of mass producing fruit in the way America does. The biggest reason imo is that culturally Japan sees fruit as a luxury item or gift. To that end, fruit sold by farmers to resellers must meet government standards (much stricter than what the USDA enforces). That alone encourages small scale production with large labor and input costs. Now I'm pretty skeptical that these fruits would be that much better, if at all, than the American versions. But if we wanted fruit made in the same manner as Japan it would be just as expensive.

Ah yes I love sushi ❤❤
@@SlightlierGravy do not mansplain me in my happy place. My non-binary ass has had too much trauma already, and do some fucking research before you act like your correct. I at least said I wasn't exactly sure. Where your fucking PHD in Japanese agriculture.

I am from Hong Kong i have ate this resturant 27 times and i got a big sushi which is a very cute plushie
BTW dancing beacon ! that "unknown leaf" is Shiso leaf :D
this system confuses me. How do they know when you take food off the belt and how do you know when what you ordered has arrived?
The plates have something similar to RFID chips in them, when you check out, an employee scans the stack of plates and that adds them up as they are pre programmed with price
I know this place~^^
I went there a lot when I was living in Japan~😋😋
Nice sushui train 😍😍
ホヤHOYA Tube韓国 I don’t think it’s in Japan cause the employees all spoke Chinese if you listen closely
