If you have the perk (under leadership I think?) that lets you upgrade bandit troops to normal troops, the "forest bandit" line can also all upgrade into the Fian line, the rogue perk (lvl 50) that lets you recruit bandits with no morale penaly, medicine perk (lvl 75) that lets you apply your medicine survival chance to the enemy troops, far and away the fastest method to acquire a bunch
Maybe it’s because I play Battania and have a culture bonus from one of the skills, but you can easily find Highborn Youths in villages, often Highborn Youths outnumber the Volunteers. So Fianns are definitely number 1 to me, they’re just too good to too easy to find for me.
I find it is any village that is castle bound has them, which they seem to have along all of the main routes. It is mostly the out of the way villages that are not.
I could have told you the Voulgiers were top tier. I just had my ass handed to me by an army with a bunch of them in it. And this is in my Sturgian campaign.
I like the sturgians more but in gonna try the vladians next playthrough. My favs are. 1. Fians - just op imo when they can crush both archers and infantry 2. Sturgian Druzhinnik - spear brace and good foot troops fore sieges. 3. Stugan spear/axemen - massive shields and both have their own strength.
I plan to do a video focusing on trade, but there is a random element to it that makes it hard to be specific. I will go over the rough guidelines though, which should help.

I would personally rank the "VETERAN" falxman as some of the worst in the game, since the normal falxman is, easier to get, cheaper to use, better vs everything except cavalry, and SIGNIFICANTLY better vs cavalry which is what the "veteran" falxman are supposed to be better at, seriously, the veteran falxman are the worst 2handed inf to use vs cavalry, so their "strength" vs cav is not a benefit.
Voulgier is the only good infantry unit of Vlandia and it's barely over the Line Breaker, so I would say that Vlandia doesn't have the best 2 handers. At least you were honest and didn't put the Line Breaker at 4. Thank you for not throwing shit on Sturgia.
I really like Sturgia for infantry, They are my favorite faction when I'm planning heavy infantry playthroughs. The results in this video are based on a lot of battle tests, and in those tests, the Vlandian Voulgiers had an edge over the Heroic line breakers.
I have a video coming where i cover crossbowmen, and i will describe the basic differences, but in short. Crossbows have better range, and slightly higher damage per shot, but are slower and have less ammo. Also, often times have better armor, so they can double as decent infantry once they are out of ammo.
where are the tests? Or is it just personal experience? Strat Gaming did hundreds if not thousands of tests and discovered that menavliaton is slightly weaker than voulgier so I don't know what you are on about. In fact, t4 falxman is the strongest shock troop.
My fellow brothers in arms: does anyone know if there is a way to organize infantry troops on the battlefield on the console version of the game? For example: being able to command shielded infantry and two-handed shock infantry troops as separate units…. Long time viewer first time commenter I’ll take my answer off the air thank you in advance 😊
Well, in the troop tab displaying what troop is commanded in that part next to the slider for moving units from one to the other, there is a small button that pulls out a pop up that lets you choose which units will be prioritized, do it correctly and you can split them perfectly. And do please leave this comment up, it will be a place many might come to look for this information.
How many unit type should one have in their army? I am doing a mixed play through where I usually recruit; Fian Champs, Khan’a Guards, banner knight or elite catas…do I need infantry or 2H units or these 3 units should suffice?
@@INFJ-ThaneTr yeah, I am playing for first time on console after the full release so trying to learn most of the mechanics before I start playing on “hardcore” mode 😅

Do all castle bound villages produce noble line units ? If so you have saved me so much time lol.

Folks fians are basically cheating. I recommend going to the xml file and edit their two hand skill to something like 80 for better balancing.
The voulgiers are great. I am currently doing a Vlandian playthrough, and they are so good.
Yes, they have been huge in my most recent Vlandian playthrough.
NICE!!! I need this.. Do you have a video about best workshops and trade?
Workshops in city's spawn randomly so I think that would be a hard video to make

Trust me pair the sturgian heroic line breaker with leginaries.
I was sleeping on the 2 handed units until I got absolutely shredded by a mentavellion unit. Going to have to put some in my infantry unit.
Come on, bring on the horse archers. I'm bursting with anticipation.
Coming soon Buddy.
Great analysis my Miss Piggy Banging friend 🙏🏽❤️
Glad you enjoyed!
What about the imperial menavliaton? Are they not shock infantry?

Bows are faster. Crossbows are only good in mass if you want some ranged infantry who can help melee.

When you deploy your troops you can change what types are in each. So, if your javalin guys are your light infantry, you csn split them that way.
