I imagine a version of Tetris where you play normally, but to the beat of whatever song is being played...and placing X number of pieces perfectly to the beat in a row does damage/increases damage multiplier for when you send garbage...but in order to maintain the combo/multiplier, rotations must be on the beat too
You know, this actaully looks like a great rhythm based tetris game. EDIT: It would have been better if instead of having a pre-determined layout for the tetris pieces to match the song's rhythm, give the player full control of the placement of the pieces from start to finish, thus making every playthrough unique rather than just memorising the placement patterns of the level itself.
It's not a predetermined layout for the pieces you can see the ghost piece telling him to place it then it changing to something else when he swaps the t block in the video You can also see it during the z spin. The PC solves are not predetermined those are setups the player has memorized (pco 2nd PC dpc)

So… it all depends on the song you play actually. If the song doesn’t have any preset boards on it, you play the whole song freestyle. You can even play OSU beatmaps on it fully freestyle
Missed opportunity here. The "rhythm sections" where ghost blocks spawn should spawn ABOVE any junk which you fuck up during the section. The more you fuck up, the closer the junk will be to the top, meaning you die if you fuck up too many times.

Yeah. It's a really well made concept, but the fever part just kinda isn't what Tetris is about imo.
I mean, it does have an outline that appears before each section, so with enough experience it could be sightread. Still probably crazy hard tho
