Never Tear Us Apart has nothing to do with Joe Cocker. It is an INXS song. It is just so famous and has been covered by so many people and used in so many movies that you have probably heard it many times before and didn't know it was INXS. INXS were huge in the 1980s. They were literally one of the most popular bands in the 1980s. They have many songs that are still played on radio stations worldwide.
On February 6, 1991, I saw INXS in concert in Tampa, FL on their X tour and am so grateful to have seen them in their prime. The concert was incredible! RIP Michael

elena79rus, for the most part you are right, but not entirely. I was a DJ from 1988 to 2013 and I did dozens of gigs using “Need You Tonight” as a dance track. Not only that, but many of their songs were dance songs, albeit in the New Wave genre. Third point is that they had a lot of their singles remixed for use in Dance Clubs (just as bands like U2 and The Simple Minds did). INXS’ music have been used as Dance songs, easily mixable with R&B, Electro, and more traditional Dance songs.

What does USING their songs as a DJ have to do with their original music? You can remix a Metallica song too. I'm sure many DJs did, just like I hear Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and Nirvana songs remixed and played in night clubs all the time (hell, even The Doors songs too!). Are you gonna say that all those bands made dance club music? Are you kidding me? New Wave is a genre of ROCK music. New wave was never dance club music. And yes, U2 and Simple Minds are two other biggest bands from the 80s that played in this genre.

Ergo, some of there music can be considered dance music, Need You Tonight being one notable example. Why are you getting so worked up about this?

Yes I completely agree, I was too young to appreciate this song at the time but man, when you get to that age when your sexual hormones really start to kick in wow, I'm surprised it didn't fall off lol. Fabulous funky, sexy 80's gem.
'Need You Tonight', by no means their best tune (in my opinion), but THAT riff and groove are pretty irresistible... For me, THE STAIRS is possibly their best song - 'By My Side', 'Hear That Sound', 'Bitter Tears', 'Disappear' and 'Don't Change' are also excellent (amongst a number of others).

If you saw the album cover, the ability to link in the movements and look of the band members (particularly Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss was super high end CGI in its day).
This was a high budget world focussed album, unlike their earlier Oz-Rock budgets.

@@IYOU You'll have an absolutely fantastic experience with him. The song is a funk and soul song, but actually he was one of those really diverse guys. He started out folk and moved to progressive rock, blues rock, heavy metal, glam rock, new wave, disco, industrial rock, drum and bass, and then jazz rock at the end of his career. He was doing a lot of those genres before they were well-known and he's considered one of the great innovators of music. Most of the artists you've done on the channel were Bowie fans. He has a lot of material and you might possibly love it all. I can recommend songs from different era and give you some help if you're interested in hearing some drastically different songs. It will be really fun. 🥰

A very excellent song that will help your channel grow is "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. They are my favorite band of the 1960s. I'd rather you react to things that will help you than something I specifically want. Though the Beatles would cover both bases.

He was a great frontman during a time of decadence, when being a rockstar meant indulging in all facets available........drugs, sex, sexuality & with zero regards of tomorrow!
