They are not necessary, but I do use one because they are nice for collection display and it makes it easier to grab and go my watches. I know setting time and date doesn’t take long, but its a convenience thing.
I have a 1970s Rolex date ref 1500 It’s in brand new condition literally absolutely NEW! I know they have 48 hour reserve but when I take it off to go to bed that’s 12 hours gone! Then I wear it for 10 hours or so meaning the watch could never be fully wound! IF I forget to wear it for a day or so then potentially it goes to very low reserve or stop! To set the date with that Rolex you have to make the full turns in time and change the date manually one by one before it hits the date needed thus takes time to set it all up! I bought a winder for £30 from Amazon bi turning for 2 minutes left 6 minutes pause 2 minutes right 6 minutes pause etc pop it on at night and it probably keeps it to almost 70-80% full for the next day! I would say a MASSIVE YAY!
That's hilarious. People can't even tell the difference and then complain about it. Well my friend, this is an actual real human voice speaking. Unless you were of course talking in general and just sharing with all of us how you are feeling.
The voice sounds quite common. Plus, I would think a real watch enthusiast would know how to pronounce "wound" when talking about watches. It's not something that needs a band aid or gauze.
So where are you on this? Watch winders... yea or nay? Do or don't?

No way this is a real person talking like this 😂
Wound? Just stop.
learn to get to the point
Oh sorry to hear that. We did try to keep everything on topic. It is just not so black and white as most people think.
Wasn't helpful
Sorry to hear that. We did our best to answer this common question once and for all. But hey can't please them all...
