So this CS updates just dropped which brings us new sounds for 7 weapons. They may sound weird at first but I bet they'll sound awesome in a few weeks! :D

hrtf isn’t new, they used it in Half-Life and revealed it in an early alpha build of the game, to demonstrate the technology and sets used throughout the game, like an echo effect, different room sets.
The A4 and the A1 sounds are the ones that are good in the sound update. the old sounds were still better though. and btw why the fuck did Valve get the idea to change the sounds now? The sounds have been in there since 1.6 so why would they change them now, it would have been better if they put these sounds in CSGO when they released the game.

Because the gun sounds are important, and if people are using the old sounds and some people the new ones it may be a disadvantage and it wouldn't even work in the first place.

That's my biggest complaint. I'm not playing CS for its realism or its sound design, but it's more immersive when you're simulating shooting a firearm and it sounds like a firearm; not a stapler/hole punch. Not to mention some of the mags sound empty.

Let's all take a moment and think about something here... The only original gun sounds in CSGO that sounded anything like the ones from previous games like Source were the USP and M4A1. And CSGO didn't even ship with those. These sounds ruin nothing, and they actually occupy a more dissimilar audio range than lower pitched noises like FOOTSTEPS. Making it easier to hear flanks and backstabs.
Well depending on what hearing protection you are wearing, the sounds are far louder and sharper. But in general those sounds are really well made and actually recorded from real weapons. With AK-47 the sound could be much sharper instead of that soft but still when shooting with an assault rifle and double hearing protection it's pretty close to that one. That silenced M4A1 is pretty much a spot on. Many people complain about "those sounds aren't realistic" or "they don't sound like real weapons". When you hear the gunshot from distance it's far louder than it is when you're shooting the weapon with hearing protection.
Well they also did it for some of our ears, compare the waveforms of the guns, I get fatigue since I play on a loud volume for footsteps (compensates for the shitty headphones I have)
because if you actually ever heard those guns fired in irl, you would instantly know they are much closer to that now. i like that they change the sounds. its only hard for like an hour and then you get used to them.

i played like 1 game before these sound updates and tehn stopped for the rest of the year, then my pals decided to say "ey m8 lets play some cs" and then i downloaded the game again, didnt notice anything different.

I dont really get the nostalgia for old sounds....its not like theyre that amazing. the new ones are at least realistic, while the old ones neither sounded particularly well nor were realistic.

They are not even realistic! Has no one been in the army? M4a4 is too hollow to be realistic, same goes for ak! The m4's reloading spring sound is retarded, the spring wouldnt be that soft if the gun is working correctly! Also the galil and p90 you cant even hear how many shots you fire! Just fucking fix servers and hitboxes no one cares about the sounds compared to gameplay!

They updated the sounds, what else can they do then make them sound more realistic? I like the new sound, and yes, even the AWP.

they will continue to update all apects of the game, this is just the start. im sure there will be a graphics update at some point when the game switches to the new version of the source engine.
I dont really get the nostalgia for old sounds....its not like theyre that amazing. the new ones are at least realistic, while the old ones neither sounded particularly well nor were realistic.
