UNSEEN Footage - Astronauts Falling on the Moon (NASA Apollo Space Missions)
ฝัง

- As funny as these recordings of astronauts falling on the moon may seem, many were actually carried out under mission orders and were of valuable importance to NASA’s research endeavors. During Apollo 15, astronauts were conducting experiments on metabolic rates across various types of lunar terrain, and during Apollo 16, the falls took place while testing differences in locomotion on the moon and Earth. Adding to unexpected seriousness of the footage, one of these falls threatened the life of astronaut Charles Duke, who came close to cracking his suit and exposing himself to the vacuum of space...

. . a 6 billion dollar leaf blower cannot remove thick loose dust that remains near the landing pads where they leave footprints afterward -- while we all saw the touchdown video of the rocket exhaust streaming intensely outward and far beyond the landing pads . . and the features of the hard ground surface seen below . . yet there it remains -- thick loose dust with footprints for all to see in close proximity to the rocket nozzle . . and performing the identical maneuver of rendezvous in lunar orbit as takes place in near-Earth orbit -- without radar installations on multiple continents, mainframe processing . . let alone an inertial navigation system which the shuttle itself did not have -- all necessary data received through uplink from Houston for rendezvous in near-Earth orbit . . and all of which would be necessary to perform the complex orbital mechanics of rendezvous in lunar orbit. A simple computer aboard the LM that was the functional equivalent of a basic calculator provided none of this capability .
Why do they look like they have strings attached to them?

I remember watching a video about how extremely irritating the dust on the moon became for them. Apparently moon dust is microscopically sharp since it is not subject to wind or water erosion like it is here on earth. Because it is so unrefined, the dust basically tore their suits and dug into their skin to the point where brushing it off did nothing. Whenever these guys fall I wince not only at their backpacks being put at risk, but also at all of that dust digging into their suits.
