We use the app Trello! We created a board called passwords and it is all organized by type (credit card, banking, health insurance, etc.) and what we like about it is that if you both have an account (my husband and i) then I can add him to that board and we can both access these passwords whenever or wherever we need them. We absolutely love it!

I worked in insurance for over 25 years and in fact, owned my own agency for about 5 years. In addition to the home inventory, I always suggested people take picture of EVERYTHING they own...from the sofa, to the tv, to the clothes in your closet / dresser. If you have a claim, you'll need to provide a list of everything that is damaged. If you have 20 pairs of jeans, it's best if you can prove it--from a picture. I actually provided a service to my clients to go in their home & take pictures. Because exactly what you said...you'll never remember what all you have. Actually...make a COPY of the video card and store it in a bank lock box or give it to a family member. Because, IF by chance there's a fire & you weren't able to grab your binder, you'd still be able to have a copy of the pictures/video. It was amaxing the number of customers who would tell me..."oh, I don't have anything of real value, I got my couch from my Aunt Susy"...well, you know what...if you have a fire (or another claim), Aunt Susy may not have another couch to give you & you're going to have to go out to a store & buy a new one. That's why it's important to carry the appropriate amount of personal property insurance coverage & replacement coverage. I hope this made sense. The home section is definitely something I'm a BIG believer in!!! GREAT VIDEO & GREAT TIPS!!!

I'm updating my binder now. I think another great document to keep is your resume.

I can already tell you are from New Jersey. Lol.
Nice organized binder. Like it. However I am VERY hesitant to put that much life altering data in one spot. But it needs to be available when needed so maybe I just bite the paranoid bullet and make one. Ya'll.

Oh my word! You did just what I needed. Thank you ever so much. I bought a very expensive case from a company that said it would float in water 🤪. (Not if it does not close properly!) thank you ma’am.

I use mSecure password manager and it’s completely secure. I’ve used it for a couple years and I have had zero issues. Thanks so much for your videos. They are great.

I have all of our vital records organized similar to yours, but I also store our with our land deeds, and vehicle and trailer titles in a small handheld safe. When we move (military) we just put the safe into one of our cars so there's no chance of the movers packing it.
I like the binder idea. I think I may make one to have for our family just incase they were to need have information for us.

I enjoy watching your channel, especially like the changes to your intro. I too have a red binder, I also scanned all documents and placed them on a Flash drive (actually two drives) and keep them outside of the house. You also could place in the cloud.

Great video! I use LastPass for my password keeper. It is an extension on Google Chrome as well as an app on my iPhone. When I go to a webpage it logs in automatically. You can generate long passwords with numbers and characters that you could never remember. Despite this, I also keep a document of all passwords, usernames, etc. I update this at least once a year to match what I have in LastPass. I hope this makes sense!

As an Insurance Agent I highly recommend the home inventory. Copies should be kept in a fire proof safe or outside of the home like with a relative or in a safety deposit box. I also have copies or important documents on 2 memory sticks. One is kept in each of our emergency/bug out bags.

Do you store originals or copies? I don’t remember in the video.

    • @TheGoldProject

If the information is in two binders, one will be the original and the other will be a copy.

I just found your channel and I'm loving it! I already have a red emergency binder (gotta love Staples) lol. You have totally inspired me to add more to mine and become even more prepaired. I will be creating a 2nd copy to be stored at the bank! Thank you for your attention to detail! That speaks to my little OCD heart! LOL! ~Ashley in Texas!

You’re not supposed to carry your SS card, because if someone steals your wallet they can use your SS number to open fake accounts etc.

I thought that was the reason, but then I wonder if they can do the same with your drivers license. So scary that we live in a world where you have to think about those things.

I'm enjoying your videos. Do you know you can get a free credit report once a year from each of the 3 companies? I have address on my computer if you want it.
