I've been seeing people put more Ram and storage on OG xboxes but I haven't seen a real performance review I'm genuinely curious how running the games will look in terms of processing speed
The ram upgrade is mostly for homebrew games and certain arcade emulator games so It wont effect regular xbox games. As for the storage it allows you run all games from the hard drive so in game loading is dramatically reduced compared to running the games from disk. Plus it saves the dvd drive from wear and tear.
It's not for Commercial Xbox games. It's mostly for Homebrew. It makes a port of Half Life 1 playable. It increases the performance of N64 emulation. And probably the most desired advantage, it makes Chihiro arcade games playable, which requires 128 MB of RAM.
