Hey guys, to kick off my new ebook, you can use the code "bluesscale" at the checkout to get a 2€ (round about 2$) discount.

I like your concept; however there are two caveats (for beginners) a) to learn the full blues scale in the tempo you play it might take month if not years b) I bought your online book for improvisation for beginners (note: beginners!): your phrase starts with a C sharp followed by a D, followed by a C; now a C sharp for all beginners is potentially the most difficult note to hit within this range, which is followed by a D (all fingers vs : no fingers..C sharp) followed by a C; don't think you can think about a more difficult order of notes for beginners which will obviously result in lot's of frustration (as in my case) hence: for beginners would recommend a much easier line of notes which will result in more success playing your licks...

Thanks for your comment and for buying my book! You don’t need to feel pressured to play the blues scale in the tempo I’m showing in the video. I‘m only playing it in a faster tempo to not drag this part for too long. Being able to play it in a medium tempo is absolutely sufficient for starting to improvise.
About the phrase: if the phrase feels difficult for you at this point, you can totally try some of the other phrases I’m providing and come back to it later.
Just a quick remark at the end: the word ‚beginner‘ refers to improvisation here, ideally you should have an intermediate proficiency on your instrument as mentioned on my website.
Don’t worry about mastering everything right away in the book. You can just pick a few things that you feel like practicing and come back to the rest at a later point!
