    My first car is my e36 m3 that I've owned for 7 years and got when I was 15. I have no regrets with it I love everything about it and refuse to get rid of it. I plan on passing it on to my children when the time comes.

    I thought i had regrets when when i encountered the 36 vs 46 dilemma. The 36 purchase allowed for alleviated financials to pursuit a downpayment on my home and a ring on my girl's finger. Fast frwd 6 yrs and i absolutely have 0 regrets. Such a great secondary car and the 46 hype was short lived. I think a clean e36 is aging better than expected.

      stubbk3 I absolutely agree. Every time I drive an e36 that's the one thing that really stands out to me over my 46.

    21 years old car and still looks great today. Back in my college days a friend of mine ordered the E36 M3 convertible full option in metallic grey, wow. His dad was a surgeon and loaded. Since then I always wanted a Bmer.
    I got an E92 330i 5 yrs ago with 100k km (62k miles), Inline 6 NA port injection 272hp. Running great. Haven't had issues so far, touch wood.

    E36’s are like sower patch kids. There sweet at one time and sour at the other but in the end I love my e36 no matter how much people hate them and how much of a head ache it is.

    Bought a E36 316i coupe today from ‘98 as my first car. Sadly the gas prices in the Netherlands are pretty high so I couldn't opt for a 320.. still a super cool car! You actually inspired me to buy an E36!

      I'm in Belgium (french speaking side tho), and I hope to find one of these, not for gas price reasons, but because we can't have much more than 82kw as a young driver. (You can have a bit more, depending on the insurance company, but it'll be a bit more expensive if you have more.)

    My one regret with my ‘97 328i is that it’s an automatic. Cleanest e36 I could find with a decent service history

  • @MCatwar
    @MCatwar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    your channel helped me get an e36, despite me wanting one for years... m3nace, on the other hand, convinced me to buy an automatic to manual swap it. the auto I bought was very well maintained, since duh, it was an auto. never seen redline, never abused, grandpa driven. Manual swapped it with a 3.15 LSD and I need to finish some stuff up, and sort out my gear-grinding issue but other than that she's doin well. it really just needs dedication, which is exactly why BMWs get a bad name. it's not even that expensive, it's not even that difficult to do, it's just tedious to do everything. and takes a lot of knowledge, such as what brands are good for aftermarket parts (febi, victor-reinz, mahle, vaico, are a few good ones) and which parts shouldn't be bought aftermarket. it's definitely a trial and error experience, but all it takes is dedication lol

    • @MCatwar
      @MCatwar 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      mileage aside, I had the same dilemma. mine has 186k on it but the interior is pristine, and i felt horrible ripping the interior apart to finish this manual swap. i wanted to keep it the way it was, but i decided to bite the bullet because of my previous statement. i can make it just as clean with some time and dedication. I'm gonna put together my interior after i finish writing this haha

    My E36 is currently at the mechanics, because not that long ago I got it out of the bodyshop due to a crash it was in with the previous owner (yes I bought it crashed from the rear) it's fixed up now but the next step is the engine! Can't wait to have it back, I've driven it to an extent but just to move around because the rear stabilizers are Bent but those are getting replaced at the mechanics, can't wait to officially take out my car for it's first true ride.

    He had me when he said his biggest mistake was buying a droptop with many issues... exactly what I did a few months back. Roof isn't working (only manually), leaked coolant, leaks a bit of oil, but other than that there is no rust and nothing else to worry about. Hope it doesn't end up breaking down, for now, I'm having fun. :)

    I agree, my biggest regret was buying a lemon e36 m3. I was too rash and couldn’t get over that I could be an m3 owner. It had so many issues: oil leaks, coolant leaks, slipping clutch, a broken diff, and the car was throwing at least like 7 codes. I wish I could have restored it but it wasn’t worth it cause it was a salvage title car and would have taken another 3k to fix everything. So I sold it and I am looking for a new project. (Might to back to the Miata gang)

    Great video! Kinda clickbait but I'll click anyway, as mentioned who's interested in e36's and watches just one of your videos, he's gonna stay. :)
    Now where you said you don't really wanna drive it that much... and you have to "baby" 'it... well we know you DO baby it, but you do take advantage of it wearing that M sign.
    Also in regards to you being insecure driving it more... Man. You have only one life. And only one, special M3. That's one thing that's gonna give you many smiles when you grow old.
    I see how take care of it. Do drive it. Do keep it clean and perfect as it is. Enjoy it. You deserve it. Don't think of keeping it virgin (in mileage way) because that beast is built to last. Mine has 329,000 and it still purrs.
    Other than that, do make this thing regular intro! This is so creative and awesomely done! Really hits the spot for me.
    Also friendly suggestion, always ask your subscribers things, engage the public, you were making good steps with "guess what mods will be next". Try having even more questions, I'd say at least 3 per video. Like for this particular one, how do you like the landscape; what do you regret if you own an e36; what wheels do you have; do you think it's cool if I do more of these videos with other e36 lovers; what engine do you have; how much gas does it eat; and much more, that's just for example.
    On my end, I have literally no regrets. The e36 is my all times favourite. Currently I'm on the operation "enslave the horses" where I'm having m50b25 stroked to 3.0 with VEMS chip and polyetherene (or what's the word) bushings, e46 330ci ZF 6-speed manual tranny etc not to go into details.
    We all have to appreciate life and what it has to offer. We have many problems - politicians are driving us crazy, there's poverty, there's hard work...
    But when we look into our garage, that's what makes us smile. And that's one of the reasons I'm living for - to have my e36 look back at me and remember all them proud moments.
    Cheers!

      SuperStormtroop I have e36 328i coupe with m50 intake manifold and remap. Has around 230-240 whp. I live in Finland and e36'es are shit over here so i had to fly to germany and import one to finland. The car was stock back then with 140,000 km on the clock.
      Sorry for my bad english tho :)

    • @ALPINA527

      BMW you’re English is perfect! Yes we have harsh winters & it can ruin the chassis if not maintained, and here in the U.K. we salt the roads during winter instead of having winter tyres which is stupid idea and ruins our cars faster! I have two e36 323i coupes one is half finished completely overhauled in my garage needs paint job & has m50 manifold, m3 fuel pump too much to list, other is daily driven lowered partially stripped, has genuine m3 staggered polished wheels!

    • @JesseJames04
      @JesseJames04 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      SuperStormtroop E36'es are best at winter when theres alot of snow and you can drift the car. They are extremely fun to drive on winter and summer. They have good hp and they can beat 99,9% of the cars on the roads of Finland. And i LOVE the 90's bodystyle. And btw in Finland we use winter tires but we still salt the roads and that gets me very mad.

    Is $2600 a super low price for a '97 e36 m3? It has around 180k original miles (at least the owner says that, he replaced gauge cluster). Only issues it has are the interior is in bad condition, front window regulator is off track, and power steering hose reservoir is leaking but that shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Am I getting a good deal here? Thanks on advance.
